1 Rubber bumpers suit a black MGB V8 Roadster Interior with the later trim and an original Sharp radio cassette player. Black 4040 (W 80) was first registered in August 1980 and is the last MGB to be converted from new by Dave Vale at V8 Conversions in Farnborough, Kent. He will be happy to discuss this car with any prospective purchaser. The car has been in the family since 1983 when my Father, Peter Gee, purchased it after having seen it at an MG show at Donington, hence the sticker still in the window. The car has been to many MG club shows in the past and has won many of concours events. I still have all the trophies and would be willing to add these to the sale as part of the history of the car. My Father sadly died in 2001 and he wanted me to look after his Pride and Joy. Since then the car has been used very little, and has never been driven in wet conditions. Regretfully it is now time for me to move on and the car is now up for sale. With just 20,753 miles (can be justified by MOT certificates) from new, this very low mileage car has been a highly cherished show car which has been kept fluid and functional throughout the years by uncompromising servicing and maintenance. This car is fully original, it has never been resprayed. The underside was sprayed black some time ago to enhance it for the concours events it entered. It will have the odd blemish and touched up stone chip, but the car is now 30 years old and the paintwork is still bright. Specification includes the following: a 175bhp Rover 3500 engine with original SUs and inlet manifolds as fitted on the original Factory MGBGTV8s, exhaust manifolds by Mike the Pipe, full stainless steel exhaust (lovely sweet V8 sound), Luminition electronic ignition, new MGBGTV8 radiator with twin cooling fans controlled by a Kenlowe sensor, set of 5 original MGBGTV8 wheels, Dunlop SP Sport 175 HR 14 tyres, Alley roll over bar, fitted tonneau cover, lowered suspension with springs uprated to MGBGTV8 specification, rear Spax shocks, front shockers uprated, ¾ front anti roll bar, negative camber wishbone arms, 3.07 differential, stainless steel oversills, original Sharp radio cassette player, and Waxoyled underneath and in all the box sections from new. The boot has been fully lined with black carpet. The car also has a Factory fitted British Leyland hard top which shall be included in the sale. It has had a new slave cylinder and new brake discs, callipers, master cylinder and a new radiator. It has recently travelled to Jersey for the MGOC Spring Rally where it came second as an MG RV8 won first, but they did say that they thought I was going to win! Asking price of 14,495. 2 The detail is excellent with an original coloured throttle cable (turquoise). New V8 radiator with twin cooling fans controlled by a Kenlowe sensor. Engine bay adopts the Factory MGBGTV8 layout with twin SU carburettors but a split servo mounted on the offside bulkhead.
