2 General Rules 2018 Glenn County Fair Derby 1. Remember you are here to have FUN. 2. All drivers and passengers participating in an event must be 18 years old 3. All pit crew and spectators in the pit area must be at least 16 year old 4. Anyone entering the pit area must sign the release waiver at the pit gate and wear the assigned wrist band. All minors must also have a notarized minor release form signed by a legal guardian. 5. No confrontational behavior will be tolerated. This could result in ejection from the event and forfeiture of any and all winnings. The driver will be held responsible for the actions of their pit crew. 6. All vehicles participating shall be checked in to the pit gate by 5:30PM to allow time to go through inspection 7. All drivers and passengers must wear a D.O.T approved helmet at all times while in the vehicle, no open face helmets. Drivers will also wear seat belts at all times. If required window nets shall be in place at all times. 8. Cars will be assigned to heats by the officials. To qualify to participate in the main event a car must participate the assigned heat. 9. The last car running that made the last legal hit will be the winner. So on down the line. 2 nd, 3 rd, etc. 10. Sirens, Flags and or Horns will be used to signal the start and stop of each event 11. When the stop signal is given any car that keeps moving and hitting other cars will be disqualified at the discretion of the head derby official. 12. Stalling, sandbagging, not mixing it up and taking too long to start your car, driving outside of derby arena may be grounds for disqualification. Two-minute rule will be applied. 13. No driver door hits allowed. 14. Teaming is not allowed. 15. You may wave off another driver if you are done for that event. If you do wave off and then try to restart and hit again you will be disqualified. 16. Once a driver has waved off intentional hits to that vehicle will not be allowed. 17. If your car catches fire the event will be stopped. As soon as the fire is extinguished the event will continue. Your car will be done for that event. 18. Only in case of an emergency or when an official signals it is ok can you exit the vehicle. 19. If your car gets rolled over or tipped on its side during an event the officials will stop the event for safety reasons. At that point your car will be done for that event. 20. A protest may be filed with the head official immediately after an event. The accuser must pay a $250 cash fee up front to the head official before any protest will be considered. The accuser must be a driver in that event and the protest must be a certain specified area on the car. If the protest turns out to be unfounded then the accused driver gets the protest fee. If the specified area is found to be illegal, then the driver of the illegal car will be disqualified, and the protester will receive the protest fee back. 21. Judges decisions will be final. 22. No alcohol, drugs or fire arms are allowed in the pit area.

3 V&R MOTORSPORTS 2018 KICKER CLASS ***These are not suggestions. These are the rules; this is what you are allowed to do to prepare your car. If you are not sure of something, call and ask or don t do it! Call Rich (707) or Bobby Rutledge (707) No 1973 and older imperials, Hearses, Vans, SUV s, Trucks, or Military vehicles. If anything in the rules is unclear ASK. If it doesn t say it in the rules don t do it! Or call us and ask. Batteries: 1. A maximum of 3-12-volt batteries may be used. 2. Batteries must be secured inside the car in the front of the passenger seat and covered. 3. Call for any rust repairs 4. No over-sized mount plates or boxes. Do not mount anything within six inches of any bodybolt. Please try to install your drive train without cutting the floor or firewall. Please cover any holes or cutouts with a fire-retardant blanket or equivalent. Hoods: 1. Hoods must be bolted, you may use 6 bolts, 2 in the front, 2 in the rear, and 2 through the radiator core support. Rear bolts may only be welded to the inside of the fender using a 6 X 6 x 3/8 plate. No frame, or window bar contact. 2. Front 2 hood bolts may be welded to the frame with 4 max vertical weld (no filler). That s 2 each side or 4 on one side only on the threaded rod. Threaded rod must remain vertical and cannot be angled in any manner. Or a nut maybe welded to the top of the frame. Max bolt size for hood bolts is You may weld two 2 x 1/4 flat straps from the top of the core support to front bumper. No more than 4 of weld per side of strap. 4. You must have a 12 x 12 hole cut in hood over carburetor for fire suppression.

4 Radiators: 1. Radiators must remain in the stock location; they may be wired or strapped in, no welding. Must use stock style radiator, cannot be homemade. 2. You may install one A/C condenser cannot exceed more than 12 of weld. Frames: 1. Frame seams from firewall forward may be welded. Single pass top seam only, 1/2 width weld max. 2. Front kickers may be installed. 3. You may tilt your frame by welding the cut with single pass only no added metal. 4. Kicker bars cannot exceed past the furthest rear portion of the A-arm. 5. Kicker material is max of 2 x 2 x 1/4 square tubing or 2 pipe, must be attached to top of frame only, 4 of weld max. Must be attached to front dash bar. 6. Kickers may only have gussets at the dash bar NOT the frame. Bumpers: 1. Bumpers may be welded to the bumper brackets. 2. Bumpers may be trimmed, MUST be square with no sharp edges 3. Bumper brackets may be welded to the frame. 4. You may use a tube bumper. 5. Bumpers may be loaded, bumper seems may be welded, 5 mph bumpers must be a factory car bumper. Front and back skin is required. 6. All work to be done on the inside of the bumper, bumper holes may be covered on outside, cannot exceed the hole more than 1 in any direction. 7. All bumpers may be installed using 6 x 6 x ½ max flat mounting plates on the bumper. 8. Bumper brackets can be 4 x 14 x ½ flat plate or 2 x 4 x 1/4 square tube or channel max. No mix matching homemade and OEM. 9. Brackets can be welded on the outside of the frame only, unless it came on top stock. Compression bumper shocks may be drained, slid back into the shock and welded fully. 10. All stock bumper brackets and shock components must be OEM automotive materials and cannot exceed You may not reconfigure or manipulate a bracket or change the stock shock mount location.

5 12. Tube bumper Max size is 6 x 6. No wider than the edge of the fenders. 13. You may add a point to a tubed bumper only, no further than 12 out from the frame, and must taper from inside to inside of frame rail. 14. Bumper heights: front and rear minimum 16 and max 22 measured from the ground to the bottom of the bumper. 15. All rear bumpers may be welded to the body in the rear max 36. Max filler 2 x ¼ flat bar. Engine: 1. Engines may be chained, bolted, or welded to frame. No engine mounts forward of engine block. 4 max welding of mounts to frame horizontal and 4 max welding of mounts to frame vertical. Engine cradles are allowed as long as they do not add reinforcement. No rear mounts, and no reverse headers. 2. Engines may have a distributor protector, may be no wider than 14, and 6 higher than the top of the distributor. 3. If using a distributor protector, it must be 10 away from the front dash bar. 4. Firewall can be trimmed valve covers cannot be behind the original position of the firewall. Holes must be covered for safety, no engine setbacks. 5. All cars must have engine air cleaner or similar carburetor cover for fire safety. 6. May run mount from front of cylinder head to frame, 1 per side, it may be kicked 3 forward of water pump. Max size 2 x 1/4 square tubing or angle iron. Transmissions: 1. Use OEM transmission cross member or 2 x 2 x 1/4 max replacement. 2. Transmission cross member must be mounted on inner side or bottom of frame, not stuffed inside. 3. Tranny coolers may be used but they need to be secured in such a way as to prevent injury. 4. Transmission bracing: 5. Aftermarket ultra-bell housings are ok. 6. Transmission protectors are allowed 7. If you run a tranny protector, or steel bell it must be attached to cross member only by a stock rubber mount or chained down. If using this method, you may only use a 2 x 2 x 1/4 transmission cross member and must have a ½ inspection hole within 1 foot of center of cross member side or bottom. 8. Transmission cross members must be mounted within 5 of original mounting location. 9. Brace cannot exceed the bell housing more than 2 inches in any way

6 10. Aftermarket skid plates cannot go past the stock location of the pan. Body: 1. OEM body bolts, bushings, and washers only, no alterations allowed, unless other specified. 2. All cars must have there original body and frame that came from the factory. 3. You may add 2 body bolts anywhere from the firewall back. 5/8 x 8 max, and must be welded to the side of the frame. You may have a 3 x 3 x 1/4 angle iron mount. Do not go through the frame or make this bolt a PIN in any manner. Must have a 4 x 1/4 thick max free-floating washer inside of car. Do not weld the washer to any sheet metal. Must be free floating. 4. You may add 4, 3/8s bolts above rear tire quarter panel, and 4 3/8s bolts on front fender above front tire. 5. Mopar s are allowed to secure K member in (1) of the following ways: a. Remove pucks and bolt tight to frame, stock size bolts only. b. Leave pucks in between and weld (4) 3 welds, total (not per side) of 12 total welds. 6. Body creasing: enhancing of the body lines will be allowed. Pinging is allowed. Quarter panels and tail light valances must remain vertical. 7. It is illegal to weld body seams unless specified in the rules, if you do this, you will have to cut it. 8. For vehicles with pinched seam fenders, you may weld 3 skip 3 of entire seam no added filler. 9. You may upgrade 4 body bolts to ½ bolts with 3 x ¼ washers, bolts must begin and end where original ones were. These 4 bolts do not include the 2 you can add from firewall back, and you must have the same thickness spacer as the OEM bushing for that car, may be made from metal. 80 s and newer: s and newer crush boxes may have the crush box tabs cut, tilted and welded back, no added metal single pass weld only. 2. You may use ZTR style coil spring conversion kit, but brackets may not be wider than 3 1/ and newer crown Vic s may weld in a steel cross member out of another factory car, with 1 pass and no bigger weld than 1/2. A-arm mounting may only be welded in single pass. 4. If bolting in a homemade cradle, material may be no bigger than 3/8 material, and go no further than ½ past the stock bolt locations. If using this method all suspension must be welded to the bracket.

7 Trunks: 1. You are allowed to V the trunk. But the center must be a minimum of 6 from the floorboard of the trunk. Quarter panels must stay vertical. 2. You may add 4 all threads, max size 1 to trunk, they can be welded to frame, or go threw a body bolt. max size 2 of weld vertical only. Washer size no bigger than 4 x 1/4 3. You may tuck the trunk lid up to 50% of the trunk. 4. You may weld the trunk lid complete. 5. You may wrap and bolt 2 chains through the trunk and around the bumper, max chain size ½. 6. You must cut a 14 x 14 hole in the center of the trunk lid. Doors: 1. You may weld the entire door, outside only 2. You may weld a ½ x 8 plate on the outside of the driver s door for safety. Plate cannot extend more than 1 over the driver s door seams. 3. Top of door skins may be folded over max material 2 x 1/8 flat strap, or ½ filler. 4. Fillers for doors may be ½ rebar or ¼ x 2 flat stock. Station Wagons: 1. Tailgates may be welded completely or chained. 2. Fillers for tailgates may be ½ rebar or ¼ x 1 flat stock. 3. Wagon deck lids may be welded 3 on and 3 off, NOT SOLID. 4. Wagon deck lids must have 14 x 14 hole in center for inspections. 5. Tailgates may have 2 chains wrapped around bumper and through the tailgate, bolted together. 6. Rear pan must be welded horizontally in stock position. It cannot be folded down in back seat area. 7. Deck lids must be in stock position. Do not reconfigure lids in any manner other than stock locations.

8 Window Bars: 1. You must install 2 vertical bars where the windshield used to be. 2. Minimum size for the bars 5/8 max size 1 ½. 3. Rear window bars same as above if applicable, but rear window bars cannot exceed the trunk seam. Rear window bars must also be at least 8 from halo bar. And cannot be welded to package tray. 4. Both front and rear window bars cannot exceed on the roof more than Front window bars must be 6 away from distributor protector. Roof signs 1. You may have a roof sign; the sign must be bolted (no welding). Make sure it does not reinforce the car in any way. Sign cannot touch window bars or halo bar. Halo Bar: 1. You may run a halo bar max of 5 tubing. It can only be tied into the cage. There must be at least 8 of clearance between the rear window bars. You may run a 12 x 12 gusset from the top of the side bar to the halo bar must only be attached to the cage. 2. The halo bar must be behind the driver s seat 3. Halo bar must be vertical, no angling. 4. Halo bar may be bolted to roof in 2 locations using 3/8s hardware only. 5. Front window bars must be 6 away from the distributor protector. Cage: 1. Mandatory safety bars; side bars 3 from firewall, can touch wheel well 2. Three crossbars: 1 at the dash must be 10 from firewall and must be at least 6 above the transmission tunnel. 4 max behind driver s seat, wheel well cannot be manipulated in any way 3. Side bar and cross bar minimum 3 x 3/8, may use square tubing, channel, or pipe. 4. May install 4 vertical down bars, one on each corner of the cage, you may weld them to the floor only. Bars must not be bigger than 3 x 3 x 3/8, must not cover any body bolts, or tied in with anything mounted on the floor. 5. You may run a gas tank protector instead of 3rd bar you cannot run both. 6. Gas tank protector must be 6 away from door sheet metal, wheel wells, and floor. Must be 4 away from rear pan 7. Gas tank protector material must be no larger than 3 x 3 x 1/4 8. The gas tank protector may be no taller than the gas tank, and may not exceed 6 wider than

9 each side of the gas tank. Tires: 1. May run any rubber tires as long as it is 30 max. 2. May run valve stem protectors. Do not use this to strengthen the rim. To be determined by officials. 3. May use full centers on wheels, no added reinforcements. Suspension: 1. You may replace spindles and upper A-arms if used in factory location, no added reinforcement and absolutely no welding. Must use original holes and mounting hardware. 2. steering wheel to steering box may be modified. 3. After market steering columns and tie rods are allowed. 4. Top of A-arm may be welded maximum 12 per frame rail. Max material size is 4 x 4 x ¼ flat bar only. 5. You may strengthen tie rod ends. Leaf Springs: 1. May shorten leaf springs up to 12, 9 leaf max, 5/16 max thickness, 2 ½ wide max, leafs must be factory auto origin, leaf springs must have a minimum of a 2 stagger clamps per springs Clamp material max: ¼ thick, 2 wide, and 2 3/8 bolts per clamp. 3. No welding leaf springs. 4. You may drill threw the leaf spring and add (1) 5/8 bolts the clamp the spring. 5. Leaf spring shackles may be relocated, you may not weld them to the frame and they may only be 3 x 6 max. ¼ thick material. Do not abuse this rule. 6. No frame shaping.

10 Rear Ends: 1. You may run 5 or 8 lug rear end. No part of rear end may strengthen the car s frame or body in any way. 2. You may use any type of rear end (Ford, Mopar, GM) you may tilt the rear end by lengthening or shortening the trailing arms. Trailing arms must be of passenger car origin and must operate. Trailing arms may be reinforced, but they need to be in working order. 3. Rear end bracing may not extend from the rear end axle tubes further than 6 in any direction 4. Coil spring cars may have 14 x ¼ hump plates no wider than frame, must be mounted on outside of frame. Plate will be measured from two longest points. Optional: 1. Externally mounted electric fuel pumps allowed. Must be wired so they are off when engine is off. 2. Fenders may be cut from wheel wells; you may fold over and bolt with 4 bolts, max size 3/8 bolt with 3/8 washers. 3. Chain may be wrapped around the rear end to frame, 1 per side. No cutting away body, unless it is a uni-body car, no welding; only bolting. 4. May run 10 gallons of gasoline max x 4 x 1/2 plate of frame repair allowed fresh or used cars, (may be mounted anywhere on the frame not in it) may be split up. -If your car is not race ready by drivers meeting you will not run. -If we feel like your car is too far from the rules and you will not have enough time to make it legal you will not run.

11 Motor Home Rules: Limit 6 (based on submission date of application 1. Stock motor homes that are two wheel drive cab over style, no excessively large motor homes. 2. All tanks shall be removed, gas, propane, water and sewer. 3. All interior furnishings shall be removed, refrigerators, showers, couches, etc. all debris shall be removed. No trash. 4. Motors may be chained and or welded down. Motor swaps ok. 5. Stock tires that may be tubed. 6. Rear axle may have dual or single tires. 7. All glass must be removed. 8. A seat and seat belts are mandatory. DOT approved helmet is required. 9. Drivers door is to be chained shut. 10. A screen should be installed around the driver area to provide protection from flying debris. A window net or screen should be installed on driver door window. 11. Driver door bars and cross cab supports may be installed on the inside of the cab. Bars are not to be mounted to the frame. No beefing up the cab. 12. Rear bumpers are to be removed. No rear bumpers. 13. Front bumper brackets may be welded to the frame and bumper. 14. Radiator is to remain in stock location. 15. Gas tank or fuel cell is to be securely mounted inside of motorhome. Max capacity of 12 gallons. 16. Battery may be relocated and securely mounted to the inside of the motorhome. 17. Must have legible numbers on both sides and roof. 18. If your motorhome loses it shell, for safety reasons, you will be done for that event. 19. Winner will be the Motorhome that is still running that makes the last legal hit and still has its shell. Boat Race Rules: Limit 8 (based on submission date of application 1. You may pull your boat with any vehicle. That is safe to operate. 2. A driver and co-pilot are the only people allowed in the vehicle.

12 3. Seat belts and helmets are mandatory and must be worn at all times throughout the event. 4. Window nets on both driver door and passenger doors are required. 5. Your car number that is clearly visible must be painted on both sides of your vehicle. 6. You may attach your boat to the vehicle with rope or cable. 7. Boats may have the rope/cable attached on the front cleat or through the front of the hull. 8. You may use a tire in between the vehicle and boat. 9. All boats must have all engines, seats, glass, wiring, batteries, etc. removed. Bare hull only. 10. Boats may be painted up like a derby car or to match the towing vehicle. 11. You may use blow up animals as decoration on the boat if they are securely attached. 12. You must stay within the designated race surface to continue to be scored throughout the race. 13. The winner and places will be determined by the judges. 14. Judges will be looking at remaining amount of boat left at the end of the race and amount of hits to the other competitors boats. 15. The object is to destroy the other boat hulls. Not hit the tow vehicles. You will only be given one warning for deliberately hitting the other vehicles. 16. If you lose your boat hull before the end of the race you may continue to run and destroy the other boat hulls.
