3 2.2 FIXTURES A. Water Closets: NOTE TO SPECIFIER: Coordinate the models of the water closets specified with the height requirements found in the M-DCPS Design Guidelines and the ADAAG, giving proper consideration to both age and grade requirements based on scope of the project. Obtain the grade classification of spaces serving pre-k through 3 rd grade age groups from the M-DCPS Facilities Design and Standards before opting to use seat heights below 14 inches above the floor. Mounting heights shall be shown on the architectural toilet room elevations. 1. Wall Hung Water Closet HC Accessible (WC - ) with seat height as shown on drawings: a. White vitreous china, top spud, siphon jet flush action, 1.28 gpf, elongated bowl, with ceramic bolt caps. 1) Afwall FloWise EC by American Standard, or other A/E approved equivalent by Kohler, Toto or Zurn. b. Flush Valve: Sloan Royal or other A/E approved equivalent by Kohler, Toto, or Zurn. c. Seat: White, elongated, open front less cover, with self-sustaining, stainless steel posts and pintles check hinges and antimicrobial agent. 1) As manufactured by Olsonite, Kohler, Toto or Zurn. 2. Wall Hung Water Closet not HC Accessible (WC - ): Same as (WC - ) above, but mount with seat height as shown on drawings. 3. Floor Mounted Water Closet HC and not HC accessible (WC - ): a. Wall Hung enameled cast iron, 20 inches x 18 inches, with lug holes for concealed carrier arms. 1) Hudson K-2812 for cold water or K-2867 for hot and cold water. By Kohler or b. Resin and filler composition, 3 station unit with air valve, hand control, cold water only, and soap dispenser. 1) Terreon Wall-Hung Tri-Fount by Bradley or other A/E approved equivalent by Acorn. 6 D. Shower (SH- ): 1. Individual Showers: a. Thermostatic mixing valve with integral service stops and hand held showerhead, 48 inch minimum wall bar, 5 foot long chrome plated hose. 1) Series 450-e700 with temperature and pressure compensation, ASSE 1016 compliant, by Powers Process Controls or other A/E approved equivalent by Symmons. 2. Group Showers. a. Shower Ware, 16 Gauge, Type 304 stainless steel, stain finish shower module complete with shower heads, recessed soap dishes, and control valves at each station. Stations to be at 36 on-centers, with length of module and number of stations as indicated on drawings. Shower heads shall be at 6 feet above finished floor. Module to be factory pre-piped and pressure tested. Heads shall be restricted to 1.5 gpm flow. 1) Shower Ware 115-W-F-G-RD by Acorn or b. Showerhead: Vandal resistant with concealed mounting screws, adjustable spray pattern by user, 15-degree spray angle, brass construction, flow not to exceed 1.5 gpm. 1) 295 Fre-Flo institutional head by Symmons or other A/E approved accepted equivalent. 3. Locker Room Showers Central Control: Thermostatic type mixing valve to blend hot and cold water to desired temperature and compensate for both temperature and pressure changes in supply lines, ASSE 1017 compliant, bronze body with noncorrosive parts, integral check stops, tamperproof temperature control, polished chrome, 85 degrees F. to 115 degrees F. minimum range. E. Sinks: a. Valve shall be enclosed in stainless steel cabinet with all piping finished in polished chrome. b. Provide outlet dial thermometer and control valve. Cabinet shall have top outlet and inlets. c. Series LFSH 1432 valve by Powers Process Controls or other A/E approved equivalent. NOTE TO SPECIFIER: Change or add sinks of the sizes, configuration and trim as required by the Educational Specifications for the project. Sink construction shall be as specified below unless otherwise required. Single compartment sinks shall be fitted with fixed goosenecks unless noted; multiple compartment sinks shall have goosenecks with adjustable swing. 1. Do not proceed with the work of this section until conditions detrimental to the proper and timely completion of the work have been corrected. 3.2 EQUIPMENT AND FIXTURE CONNECTIONS A. Provide necessary material and labor to connect fixtures and equipment having plumbing connections including fixtures and equipment specified and furnished in other sections. B. Supply Pipe Cut-off Valves: On supply pipes to each item of equipment or fixture (except faucets furnished with an integral stop) install a cutoff valve to enable isolation of the item of equipment or fixture for repair and maintenance without interfering with operation of other items of equipment or fixtures C. Anchor supply piping serving all items of equipment or fixtures to structure, to prevent pipe or fixture movement. D. Templates: Furnish templates and rough opening dimensions to fabricators of countertops and case work for location and sizes of openings for faucets and sink.
