5 PNEUMATIC AIRLESS PUMPS WORKING PRINCIPLE The pneumatic pumps and Accessories of the Nova, Omega, Ghibli and Vega series work using the principle of airless painting: high pressure painting without air assistance. Atomisation occurs when the product is passed at a very high pressure (more than 120 bar) via a small opening called nozzle. The vast range of equipment and Accessories satisfies every need, determined by the type of material, the flow required and the degree of finishing desired. The pumps may be supplied, according to the models, on trolleys, wall brackets, or on pail in order to ensure easy use and simple and fast maintenance. Airless painting guarantees: Transfer efficiency: the percentage of paint deposited is higher than the total quantity released by the machine. High efficiency. Airless painting exerts pressure on the product, forcing it to pass through an appropriately-sized opening (calibrated). The product reaches such a speed and force that the impact with the air mass causes its division into minute particles. The pressure exerted is proportional to the flow required and the physical characteristics of the product. The angle of the fan spray is determined by the size of the nozzle. It is necessary to change the size of the nozzle to alter the flow rate and the fan opening. The airless spray is composed only of paint; it is not subject to turbulence and is directional. PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION Larius spray guns for liquid or water- or solvent-based electrostatic painting are able to paint in a uniform manner over all of the piece, eliminating dripping and excessive thicknesses of the product deposited. WORKING PRINCIPLE The CH200 complete units are essentially composed of: - Electropneumatic rack generator: houses both the electric and pneumatic power and control circuits. - Powder container or vibrating table. - Venturi pump for the suction and delivery of the powders to the spray gun. - The CH200 spray gun consists of a block of vacuum epoxy resin casting, that guarantees maximum levels of electric isolation and mechanical resistance. - Trolley for trasporting the entire system. The spray gun and generator are connected by a low voltage cable in order to ensure the user s safety. Voltage transformation occurs via multiplier built into the spray gun, and aimed at guaranteeing a voltage of up to 100 KV to the electrodes. The object to be painted, clean and possibly pre-treated, is electrically grounded. The powder is electrostatically charged by the electrodes placed at the spray gun s outlet and is attracted by the object: a surface completely covered in a uniform manner and with significant thickness is obtained. The object is then placed in a baking oven where the powder melts forming an extremely resistant film. The CH200 spray gun can be substituted by the CH200 TRIBO triboelectric spray gun powered by a mixture of powder/air via a powder passage hose and a compressed air hose: the powder is charged inside the spray gun by friction and the intensity of the additional air allows for regulation of the triboelectric effect. The electropneumatic generator allows for the verification of the intensity of the electrostatic charge. WORKING PRINCIPLE A and B components and the flushing solvent flow into the system through the remote feeding pumps. The pumps can be either double diaphragm and piston pumps and the device can work at low, medium and high pressure with no modifications required. Two flow metering devices detect the volume of A and B products supplied by the pumps and send a signal to the PLC. A and B components are metered according to the set mixing ratio by the metering valves. HOW IT WORKS The compressed air introduced by the pneumatic exchanger behind one of the two diaphragms generates compression and pushes the product into the delivery duct, at the same time the opposing diaphragm that is integral with the exchanger shaft creates a vacuum and intakes the fluid. Once the stroke has been completed, the pneumatic exchanger diverts the compressed air behind the opposing diaphragm and the cycle is reversed. 80 PNEUMATIC PUMP RANGE TRANSFER PISTON PUMPS (Used for extrusion sector ) PERFORMANCE IS OUR PASSION Research means everything to LARIUS. WORKING PRINCIPLE The pneumatic transfer pumps work with a compressed air motor that moves the piston vertically from top to bottom and viceversa. The product is suctioned by the lower pump and carried to the exit. The structure of the pumping unit (suction valve, pump piston, material seal gaskets) permits the supply of material when the piston is in the ascending or descending phase. The flow rate of a pneumatic piston pump depends on the quantity of material that it releases during each cycle and on the number of cycles that it completes (the cycle is the full stroke of the piston in both directions). Pneumatic piston pumps are divided into two types: IN-LINE: the pneumatic motor and the pump constitute one single body DIVORCED: the pneumatic motor is separated from the pump and the fluid is not in contact with the motor. Range of priming piston and balls WORKING PRINCIPLE The Nova, Vega, Omega and Ghibli pneumatic pumps for extrusion work with a compressed air motor that moves the piston vertically from top to bottom and viceversa. The product is suctioned by the lower pump and carried to the outlet. The structure of the pump unit (suction valve, pump piston, material seal gaskets) allows both the material and piston to be supplied in both the ascending and descending phases. The flow rate of a pneumatic pump depends on the quantity of material that it releases during each cycle and on the number of cycles that it completes (The cycle is the full stroke of the piston in both directions). Pneumatic extrusion pumps are divorced: the pneumatic motor is separated from the pump and the fluid is not in contact with the motor. In this type of transfer pump, the suction valve is not ball-shaped but that rather has a small plate that allows the user to pump very viscous materials (up to 2 million cps) Generally these pumps are mounted on pneumatic rams that allow for the product to be suctioned directly by the drum and that allow for quick replacement of the drum itself. A pressing disc, fixed to the base of the pump, compresses the material eliminating the phenomenon of cavitation, ensures a constant flow of product and protects the materials that has not yet been pumped from contact with dust, humidity, and from drying-out caused by contact with air.
