2 Introduction B&D DOORS The B&D Doors Product Manual provides product descriptions, illustrations, features, specifications, installation requirements, available options, diagnostic information and exploded views. The Product Manual has been developed in its current format to facilitate a more efficient process of updating and supplying information. Each Product Manual has a registered number. When a page or section is to be updated or new information is developed, the new pages will be sent out to each person on the registration list. You will also receive instructions on whether it is a new page or if it is to replace an existing page. This will ensure that your product manual is always up to date. If someone has requested information from you on any of our products, simply remove the relevant section or page for faxing or photocopying.

MAKING A CLAIM (described as you below) To make a warranty claim you must: (a) produce a copy of the receipt of purchase, together with this warranty certificate with the above details completed; (b) where the Product has been sold by B&D, make all warranty claims directly with B&D; or (c) where the Product has been sold by an approved distributor, make all warranty claims directly with the approved distributor. 2. B&D OR APPROVED DISTRIBUTORS ONLY This warranty applies only to Products sold by B&D or its approved distributor. B&D means in Australia - B&D Australia Pty Ltd of 17 Oasis Court Clontarf, Queensland 4019 and in New Zealand - B&D Doors (NZ) Ltd of 70 Allens Road East Tamaki Auckland. Approved Distributor means a reputable reseller of B&D products purchasing on open account, from B&D, for the purpose of supplying and installing those products to end users. 3. WHAT THE WARRANTY COVERS B&D warrants that it will, at its option, either repair or replace (in a manner B&D considers reasonable eg touch up of surface coatings) any proven defects: (a) in installation for a period of one year from the date of installation where the Product has been installed by B&D - this warranty does not extend to installation by approved distributors; (b) in materials, manufacture or workmanship in the Product, as follows, for: (i) B&D residential sectional doors (excluding those listed individually below) in normal residential use, are covered by a 12 month warranty for all components and associated labour; (ii) B&D rolling doors in normal residential and industrial/ commercial use, are covered by a 12 month warranty on surface coating, locking mechanism and all other components, excluding steel door curtain, and all associated labour (excludes salt corrosion). Warranty for steel door curtain, covering steel cracking and lock seam failure and associated labour, Roll-A-Door - 7 years, Firmadoor - 3 year, pro rata, Rollmasta - 12 months. (iii) B&D Natural Timber doors in normal residential use, are covered by a 12 month warranty on the structural integrity of the door and associated labour. No warranty on final quality of the look or finish of timber. (iv) B&D industrial/commercial doors in normal use, are covered by a 12 month warranty for all components and associated labour; and in each case the warranty applies from the later of the date of purchase, delivery or installation by B&D or an approved distributor (as applicable). 4. WHAT THE WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER This warranty does not cover: (a) spring relaxation - you will need to pay for the retensioning or replacement of springs; (b) high frequency - uses of the Product in high frequency situations (eg entry to a car park or frequently operated factory doors) - you will need to consult B&D for further information regarding any applicable warranty period for such applications; (c) model modifications - B&D will not be required to incorporate modifications made to existing/future Product models; (d) travel expenses - incurred by B&D or its approved distributor in either travelling to and from or transporting the Product to and from your premises - you will need to pay for these travelling expenses; or (e) additional access expenses - incurred by B&D or an approved distributor in obtaining access where the Product is not readily accessible - you will need to pay for those additional expenses. 4 Warranty TERMS & CONDITIONS 5. WHAT VOIDS THE WARRANTY Subject to clause 6, this warranty does not extend to, and B&D will be relieved of, all obligations, responsibilities and liabilities in the event that defects in the Product are directly or indirectly, in the opinion of B&D, due to or result from: (a) unreasonable use - the Product not being used correctly in accordance with the Instruction Manual or other unreasonable use; (b) instructions - failure to observe any instructions or directions (including warning notifications in the Instruction Manual), provided with the Product or given to the purchaser by B&D or an approved distributor; (c) other devices - the Product being fitted with any closing device which is not of the type or condition defined in the Instruction Manual as suitable for installation of the Product; (d) installation - faulty installation of the Product where such installation is not carried out by B&D; (e) Design-A-Door - inserts being fitted or replaced by someone other than B&D or its approved distributors; (f) unauthorised acts - modifications or repairs made or attempted to be made by you or any unauthorised person; 7. LIMITATIONS Subject to clause 6, the obligations of B&D under this warranty are limited to those set out and this warranty is expressly instead of all other warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose and notwithstanding any course of dealing between the parties or custom and usage in the trade to the contrary. 8. NO OTHER LIABILITY Subject to the warranty in clause 3 and to clause 6, B&D shall not be subject to, nor incur and the purchaser releases B&D from any claim, liability, or damages by reason of delay, defective or faulty materials or workmanship, negligence or any act, matter or thing done, committed or omitted by B&D. 9. GOVERNING LAW This warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Australian law if the Product was purchased in Australia, or New Zealand law if the Product was purchased in New Zealand. (g) service - lack of proper maintenance, service or care of the Product, including as recommended by B&D; (h) outside control - events or acts beyond the reasonable control of B&D; (i) water damage - including effects from rust and corrosion); or (j) salt - salt corrosion or damage to the surface coatings or base materials due to environmental conditions (such as proximity to the sea-front or similar corrosive conditions). 6. STATUTORY WARRANTIES This warranty certificate and other statements contained in this document or other documents given to you do not exclude, restrict or modify the application of: all or any of the provisions of Divisions 2 and 2A of Part V of the Australian Trade Practices Act, or Parts 1 and 4 of the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act (collectively defined as the Act ); or the exercise of rights conferred by other statutory provisions which cannot be excluded, restricted or modified, provided that to the extent that the Act or other statutory provision permits B&D to limit its liability for a breach of an implied condition or warranty, B&D s liability for such breach is limited to the payment of the cost of replacing the Product or acquiring an equivalent Product or repairing the Product.

5 Glossary B&D DOORS ANODISED ANTI SAG TRUSS KIT ACCREDITED DEALER APPROVED DEALER AUTOMATIC CLOSING A hard non-corrosive oxide film on the surface of aluminium doors or grilles caused by electrolytic action. Typically clear in colour. Engineered metal brace support for larger doors (typically tilts) to prevent excessive sagging or deflection. An approved distributor of B&D products who has sat and passed B&D s formal accreditation testing, and been accepted into the programme. A reputable reseller of B&D products purchasing on open account, from B&D, for the purpose of supplying and installing those products to end users. Mechanical controlled self-closing feature of a fire door activated upon melting of a fusible link. Also refers to a feature of the residential garage door opener. AXLE Central shaft running through the drum or roll of a Roll-A-Shutter, Roll-A-Door or Roll-A-Grille. The axle is typically square, hexagonal, round, cylindrical or solid. B.S.F. (Brick Side Fix) BINET BOTTOM RAIL BRACING BRACKET CAD (Controll-A-Door ) CAD P CAD R CABLE CABLE DRUMS CANOPY CAPRICE CAPSTAN WHEEL CAST IRON SADDLE CATHEDRAL Type of tilt fitting used on brick opening with no returns. Specific design name used for tilt panel styles. The reinforcing rail at the bottom of the rolling door or shutter curtain. Typically aluminium or steel to provide rigidity during operation. See reinforcing. The door axle is supported by bolted clamps on angle brackets, which are fixed to the walls, jambs or ceiling of the structure. Brackets may be pressed steel or fabricated. B&D trade name for domestic electric door opener. Controll-A-Door P - sectional/tilting/flex-a-door door opener. Controll-A-Door R - rolling door opener. Multi-strand wire used on Panelift doors to attach the bottom panel door brackets to the counterbalance mechanism (torsion assembly including spring). The cable winds on to a cable drum as the door opens, and in certain low headroom applications may ride over a pulley wheel. Grooved drum on torsion spring axle. Drum typically has indentations to allow cable to wind easily during operation of door. This relates to the section of the door (typically tilts) which protrudes horizontally and externally from the lintel when the door is open. It may also refer to the covering used for rolling doors and door openers in metropolitan rear lane applications where the door can not be installed onto a roofed garage structure. CSI Panelmasta model name. Cast wheel used to wind tension on to either Panelift or Roll-A-Shutter springs. Component of clamps used to hold tension on industrial rolling door axles. See "window". Design of patterned window insert used on Panelift doors. June 2010

6 Glossary B&D DOORS CHAIN WHEEL CHANNELS CLASSIC COLORBOND COMMERCIAL CONTROLL-A-DOOR CONTEMPORARY CORRUGATION COUNTER WEIGHT CRATING DIP SWITCH DIRECT DRIVE DRUM EASYLIFTER EMBOSSED END CLIP END STILE ESCAPE GATE EXTRUSION Typically applies to rolling doors and shutters. The chain drive is used to manually assist with the opening and closing of doors, and rides over the chain wheel. Multiple channel transmitters can have either multiple buttons eg or one button with a slide switch. One multiple channel transmitter can be used to operate receivers eg. A 3 channel transmitter has 3 control channels. Each control channel can be programmed into separate receivers. Eg. No.1 channel can be coded into a door, No.2 channel can be coded to another door and No.3 channel could be coded to operate a gate or other device. CSI Panelmasta model name. Trade name for Bluescope Steel pre-painted steel which offers a highly corrosive resistant finish in an extensive colour range. B&D rolling and sectional, and some tilting panel models use COLORBOND steel curtains. Retail, shops, hotel applications, etc. See CAD. CSI Panelmasta model name Continuous parallel indentation formed by brake pressing or roll forming to create curtain profile. Applied to specific model tilt curtains, and rolling doors. Used in hinged mullion applications to assist in moving the mullion out of opening (to be supplied by client). Packaging used to minimise damage to the door during transport. Typically cardboard or timber. Coding system used in some accessories such as transmitters. Chain or crank operated mechanisms for shutters and rolling doors. Applies to rolling doors, grilles and shutters. The drum is the item, which separates the axle or spindle from the curtain. The curtain is fixed and rolls on to the drum. Garage door opener for rolling and sectional doors. Do-it-yourself opener. The action of pressing or raising steel to provide a pattern or finish (such as woodgrain). Typically used in Statesman type doors. End clips are attached to the end of the slat to prevent the slat moving sideways within the guides and to act as the wearing surface between slats and guide in the operation of the door. For standard application, end clips are made of nylon. For wind locked and fire resistant shutters, end clips are made of malleable iron. See Stiles. Also known as egress gate. Small hinged access door allowing entry or departure through opening, without the need to open the garage door. Has no bottom reinforcing frame. (The door opens outwards) Typically aluminium. Hot forming manufacturing process to configure strip or rod into specific sections. Used for framing and top/bottom rails.

See head infill. Firmamatic sectional/tilt door opener. Firmamatic rolling door opener. The fire resistant Roll-A-Shutter is designed to retard the progress of fire. The operating system will cause the shutter to close automatically at a controlled rate in the event of fire. Trade name for Firmadoor rolling door. Trade name for Firmadoor sectional overhead door. See taper. Applies to Panelift. The bottom panel is cut to suit the slope of the floor. Type of track system associated with some sectional overhead doors used in conjunction with sloping ceilings. Typically applies to the structure used to encase panels in sectional doors. May be standard, heavy duty or box section from rolled channel or aluminium extrusion. Zinc coating to protect steel against corrosion. Coating thickness may vary depending on application. Trade name for Bluescope Steel galvanised steel. Used for B&D Roll-A-Shutter. Suitable for overpainting based on Bluescope Steel specification. The thickness of the aluminium or steel material used to form door curtains and accessories. This is typically specified as "base metal thickness" for structural and serviceability specification. "Total coated thickness" gives an indication of paint or galvanising thickness. Garage Door Opener. B&D Panelift and Firmapanel model name. A rolling type curtain constructed from individual bars and cross-links offering security without loss of visibility or ventilation. The brackets attached to the door which house (and carry the load) of the door rollers, which in turn ride in the tracks. Miscellaneous components, such as brackets, hinges, guides and tracks. Supplied as part of the door or separately and form an integral part of the door when installed. An individual panel supplied to span above the lintel in material identical or compatible with the door curtain. Non structural member. Provides appearance, security and weather resistance. Can be used to create headroom clearance required. See mullion. A combined guide assembly joining two adjacent rolling doors, grilles or shutters, where centre guide hinges upwards, when both doors are fully opened, to expose full opening width. June 2010

8 Glossary B&D DOORS HINGED TAPER HINGES HUBLINER INDUSTRIAL INSULATION JAMB See Taper. Applies to Panelift doors. Tapered section remains vertical during door operation and may extend below the lintel when the door is in an open position. Used to make independent panels of the door act as a complete door. The hinges are placed at the centre stiles and act to hold the panels together, while allowing the sections to break at horizontal joins during opening and closing movement. A nylon bearing which separates the drum and axle of a rolling door, which allows the drum to rotate during the opening of the door. Factories, hospitals, high rise residential, etc. Material having the ability to reduce heat, cold and noise transmission. The upright framing on each side of the door opening. Can be constructed from timber or steel and may be used to reinforce an opening. JAMB FITTING Tilting door opening mechanism specified as either 150J, 175J or 200J. KEYED ALIKE KICKER BOLT LIFTING SYSTEM LIMIT SWITCH LINTEL LOCK LOCKING BAR LOCKSET MAXI MULLION MULTIPLIERS MUNTIN OPENING HEIGHT OPENING WIDTH Two or more lock cylinders of the same series. The kicker bolt acts to limit the rotation of the power arm in tilting door assemblies as the door moves from the open to closed position. (Manual) The integrated assembly of cables, drums springs and a torsion bar. The configuration may vary depending on clearances and headroom requirements. Device to limit opening and closing travel of motorised door and eliminate other travel. Can be electronic or mechanical. Typically the load-carrying member or beam placed over an opening to carry wall or roof load. General description for the mechanism which retains the door in a closed position. Several proprietary and generic locking systems are available relative to specific applications. Typically a flat bar installed horizontally which is connected to the cylindrical lock of a rolling door. The bar travels horizontally with a corrugation and passes into a slot in the guide to enable the door to lock. The kit supplied to enable the door to be locked. Refers to Firmadoor rolling doors over 3150mm wide. A bar or channel section (usually vertical) supporting and separating adjacent doors, curtains or panels. May be hinged or removed, depending on door size and clearances. Relates to wind loading criteria which takes into account terrain category, structure height, shielding and topography for structures in various physical environments. See Stiles. Distance from floor to the bottom of the lintel or top of the door opening. Distance between jambs, columns, or piers of the door opening.

Variously known as the curtain or panel. This relates to the complete door in the case of one piece overhead doors or may relate to individual sections in sectional overhead doors. Trade name for B&D Pinchfree sectional overhead doors. Trade name for CSI sectional overhead door. In rolling doors, this means horizontal slots pressed in a regular pattern in the curtain to aid ventilation. In shutters, perforated can mean slots or holes and should be qualified during specification. Hinge and panel edge design used in B&D Panelift door. Prevents finger entrapment on the inside and outside of door. Applies to shutters and rolling doors where the opening mechanism is chain driven and the mass/ size of the door is such that gearing reductions are required to operate. Typically a two pack durable, site applied, industrial grade paint. A hard (typically polyester) paint applied electrostatically to protect against corrosion. Colour options available. The power arm in a tilt mechanism acts as the lever connecting the door curtain (panel) to the structure. See Sheave Pulley. Rolling garage door opener. May be horizontal, vertical or diagonal members fixed to the panel/s or curtain structure of sectional overhead doors to limit deflection for excessive spans (ie. wide doors). Low rise domestic application. B&D trade name for single continuous curtain rolling door. Trade name for B&D rolling grille. Trade name for B&D rolling shutter. A continuous curtain door, where the curtain opens by winding onto an axle and drum. The curtain is held in place laterally by its position in fixed vertical guides. Trade name for CSI rolling door. See "window". Design of patterned insert used on Panelift doors. Attached to the bottom rail or muntin to lower a manually operated door. Also referred to as a "Pull Rope". Sectional/Tilting garage door opener. (S1) Type of rolling door. June 2010

(S3) Type of rolling door. B&D Panelift and Firmapanel model name. A locking pin or bracket to retain a chain or cable in a fixed position. Typically used in sectional doors in low headroom applications. The pulley rotates on an axle designed to handle the cable and used to control the lateral movement of the cable in the door counter balance system. See "window". Design of patterned insert used on Panelift doors. A curtain made of individual horizontal interlocking slats, which form a continuous panel. Individual slats act in a hinged fashion as the door rolls around the drum. The horizontal measurement from each side of the door opening. Cold roll formed member of which a shutter curtain is made. Slats are formed to interlock and form a water shedding surface. Trade name for CSI "Finger Friendly" sectional overhead door. Locking device on the bottom rail or panel of the door, which slides into the vertical guide or suitable hole in the jamb. Typically secured by a padlock. Can be internal or external or both. Coding button on the back of the SDO. Plug inserted in the end of the torsion spring coil. Designed to enable securing of the spring to the torsion shaft. B&D Panelift and Firmapanel model name. Vertical members of a door section or panel, which provide structural rigidity, typically at the hinge location. See "window". Design of patterned insert used on Panelift doors. See "window". Design of patterned insert used on Panelift doors. A bottom panel (fixed or hinged), typically factory fitted where uneven or sloping sites require the door to be flush with the floor. Trade name for B&D tilting door mechanism, excluding the door panels. Can be jamb or track type fitting. Single piece overhead garage door. See bottom rail. Same function, but at top of door. The stress applied in a helical or cylindrical fashion, typically around an axle, induced by movement. The bar or shaft of a torsion spring assembly, which transmits lifting power of the springs to the cable drums and cables.

The vertical track is mounted to the jambs or walls and the horizontal track is mounted to the ceiling. May also refer to Track Type Tilt fittings. B&D Panelift model name. Transmitter. Attached to the base of the door via the bottom rail of extruded or moulded material to provide protection against rain and wind. Also known as rollers. Wheels and wheel axles provide the mechanism for sectional doors to roll along tracks. Wheels are inserted into hangers. Metal pedestrian door, typically fabricated in the same material as door curtain, the frame of which is hinged at the jamb so the door and frame swing out of the opening. Refers to B&D rolling doors over 3150mm wide. Load applied to the door curtain or panel by wind. Important in determining allowable door span in rolling and sectional doors and in assessing whether tilting doors can blow open or closed. Bracket or cleat pressed into or attached to the edge of rolling doors or slat shutters. Used to retain doors subject to excessive windload from blowing in or out of vertical guides. Applies to sectional doors. Prefabricated window panels of various styles to provide aesthetic finish and light. Typically acrylic, not glass. Trade name for Bluescope Steel pre-coated steel of zinc and aluminium alloy, which offers a highly corrosive resistant finish. Suitable for overpainting based on Bluescope Steel specification. 13 Fastener RECOMMENDATIONS Coach bolts / screws supplied with product are suitable for fastening to timber jambs. Correct and safe fastening to other materials may require different fasteners. The installer must select and use fasteners appropriate to the material into which they are being fixed. For installation to materials not covered in the above chart, the installer should seek expert advice from a qualified builder. 2. Minimum length of fastener does not exclude use of longer lengths. Decision must be made by fitter to ensure adequate strength. 3. Recommendations for old materials or for materials not in good condition are not included. If in doubt about the strength of the material seek specialist advice. 4. Fasteners for sectional door spring brackets and top track brackets in masonry should be at least 8mm x 62.5mm long or metric equivalent. 5. 102 Firmamatic Rolling Door Opener WARRANTY EXPIRED INDICATOR When the opener reaches the number of cycles covered by warranty the courtesy light will flash 10 times after each operation to indicate that the warranty has expired. This flashing will continue for twenty (20) operations unless the user acknowledges the warranty expiry indicator and stops the light from flashing. To stop the courtesy light flashing press the LIMIT SET button while the light is flashing after an operation. FAULT INDICATOR When a fault is detected the service LED will start to flash and a number of beeps will sound to identify the type of fault. The fault will be active each time an attempt is made to operate the door. Pressing the LIMIT SET button will reset the opener. 115 2 Button TRANSMITTER Garage Door and Gate Openers HOW TO HOW TO STORE THE TRANSMITTER CODE The opener can only operate from transmitters that have been programmed into its receiver. The receiver needs to learn the codes of any transmitter that will be used with the opener. Up to fourteen (14) codes can be stored in the receiver's memory. NOTE: Controll-A-Door S can only store a maximum of eight (8) codes. a. Ensure that the battery is inserted into the transmitter. DESCRIPTION The two button transmitter is a small transmitter, suitable for use on your car keyring. The two buttons allow for use on multiple garage doors, gates and other B&D products with Tri-Tran multi frequency. SPECIFICATIONS FREQUENCY UHF Multi Frequency FM (Tri-Tran technology) b. Press the CODE SET button and release. The CODE SET LED will illuminate to indicate the opener is in Code Learn mode. If a valid code is not stored within 15 seconds the opener will exit Code Learn. c. Press the transmitter button that you want to control the door. The CODE SET LED will begin to flash. d. Press the same transmitter button again. The CODE SET LED will illuminate for one second and then go out. e. The transmitter is now coded to operate the door - press the button to test. 121 Coax Cable AERIAL KIT Garage Door Openers INSTALLATION DESCRIPTION This cable aerial kit (75 Ohm) is used where an opener is installed in a poor reception area eg. a metal garage or reinforced concrete ceiling. HOW IT WORKS Usually, in the case of garages or sheds made of metal, where there is a lack of reception when the transmitter is being used to open the garage door. This is because the metal stops the signal being received by the opener. If the aerial is used, once the transmitter button is pushed, it allows the signal to be directly transmitted from the aerial to the opener without interference. A diagram of installation is shown opposite. eg. CAD4 socket position. 1. First determine if the site needs an external aerial: a. Check the range of the transmitter with the door closed. b. Then check the range with the door open i.e. line of sight. If the range is much better with the door open then an aerial will give better range when the door is closed. Some sources of interference are; CB/ Marine radios, some baby monitors, radio control cars, TV antenna amplifiers, battery chargers. 2. You may also make a coaxial cable into an aerial as follows: a. 122 Coax Cable AERIAL KIT Garage Door Openers b. The way to turn a coaxial cable into an aerial is to strip items iii, iv, and v, from the coax. This leaves only i. and ii. which becomes the new aerial. The length of this aerial should be: For 27 mhz = 2.4 metres For 433 mhz = 20cm When you cut the existing aerial off the end panel you can use this to test the length of the new aerial. c. A suitable position for the new aerial at least 30cm away from any metal mass (lintel beams, guttering, metal fascia, etc). It is helpful if you can see the position of the aerial from the point where you expect to use the transmitter from (line of site). The quad at the back of the eaves is usually a good place. d. Route the cable to the powerhead. e. Fit a male coax connector to the coaxial cable. f. Plug the coax connector into the socket on the end panel. g. Cut off the existing antenna. h. An aerial may be fitted to a CAD5 but the centre core of the aerial needs to be attached to the CAD5 aerial. i. The CAD R unit has an aerial socket under a sticker on the rear of the opener. DESCRIPTION Emergency key release kit used to disengage a sectional door opener so that it can be lifted manually in case of a power failure. HOW IT WORKS The keyplate is usually mounted towards the top of the door just above eye level. 128 Park-A-Lert Ultrasonic Parking Sensor SETTING UP The Park-A-Lert has been designed so it can either be attached to the wall by screws (recommended) or by Velcro. If screws are used we recommend 4mm diameter pan head screws (not included). Whichever way you decide to fix the Park-A-Lert to your garage wall there are a few things to take into consideration. 1. The Park-A-Lert sensor module must be fixed to the wall so that it is positioned in line with the main centre section of the front bumper of your car. (In Australia the number plate can be used as a rough indication of position). The two black sensors should be facing the front of the garage through which the car will enter. IMPORTANT NOTE The Park-A-Lert is not a substitute for slow, careful parking. Always test the desired stopping distance for different cars and take extreme care at all times. The Park-A-Lert was designed for slow speed parking. New users should always proceed slowly and show extreme caution when checking their reaction time. For rapid entrance speeds, the display module will not accurately reflect distance. The Park-A-Lert is not suitable for use in wet locations. Test your Park-A- Lert regularly and adjust wall mounting if necessary. Drivers should show extreme care when parking, as no liability for damage will be accepted. 2. The Park-A-Lert display module (with indicator light) must be fixed to the wall so that it is clearly visible to the driver when they slowly enter the garage, and approach the wall. TESTING AND OPERATION Once the instructions have been followed correctly, the Park-A-Lert should be properly installed ready for testing, to ensure the unit is functioning correctly. Drive your vehicle slowly into the garage and approach the Park-A-Lert until the display module shows a slow flashing yellow light (vehicle detection), then a faster flashing yellow light (vehicle tracking), and then a constant red light when the stopping zone is reached. This will mean the unit is fully operational. Should you experience any problems during the testing stage, check the batteries are inserted correctly and that you have installed the unit as per the instructions. June 2010
