1 TEMPERATURE SENSORS T a DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION These cable temperature sensors are the result of the common development of the company SENSIT s.r.o. with the company LANDIS+GYR. The sensors were designed as a part of meters that measure a heat quantity supplied by vapour - for the temperature measurement of condensate in the range of temperature 0 to 150 C according to TPM and TPM They have design approval mark TCM 321/ The sensors meet the requirements of the IEC 751 norm that is declared by means of offi cially certifi cate made according to TPM The PL-type temperature sensors are intended for installation in the thermowell made out of stainless steel EN X5CrNi18-10 (DIN ) - type JTP11, which is a part of delivery. They are produced with temperature sensing elements Pt 100, Pt 500 and Pt1000 and they consist of the case in which the sensing element is located and lead-in cable provided by silicon insulation without shielding. The case is made of the stainless steel EN X5CrNi18-10 (DIN ). The wiring of the sensing element is 2- or 4-wire. The sensors are intended for operating in a chemically non-aggressive environment. They are delivered with an attestation issued by the SENSIT s.r.o. Authorised Metrological Centre. Caution: Resistance-type temperature sensors T 11 will be produced only up to with respect to the validity of metrological regulations! 2 TEMPERATURE SENSORS T a DIMENSIONAL DRAFT L1 Distance of the fixing plug for T 11 )* Length of thermowell L2 for JTP )* by the length of L1 the distance of the fitting plug and the length of the distance pipe are defined according to the length of the thermowell SENSOR INSTALLATION AND SERVICING The sensors are mostly assembled with thermowell and installed in tubing in skew position in the angle of 45 counter to the streaming of measured medium. Before installation of the sensors it is necessary for the first time to place the thermowell in a location in which the temperature is measured. After that the sensors are inserted to the bottom of the thermowells together with the plug which is put on the cable at the place between sheath and the type-label. By means of the screw in the thermowell the plug and as well as the sensor are fitted. The screw has to be tightened to the endstop. To prevent an unauthorized manipulation, the sensors are provided by sealing openings. The installation sealing wire has first to be pushed through the screw opening and then through the plug opening. Then it has to be sealed not to allow to turn the screw more than one turn! In the last step the individual sensors are connected to the heat quantity meter according to the wiring diagram. Caution: The lead-in cable resistance in the two-wire connection depends on the cable length. That is why the conductors must not be changed (shortened). The superfluous cable has to be rolled up and fastened. 4 TEMPERATURE SENSORS T a DIMENSIONAL DRAFT SENSOR INSTALLATION AND SERVICING The sensors are intended directly for a directly installation in tubing. As a rule, the sensors are installed in tubing in the skew position in the angle of 45 counter to the streaming of measured medium. Before connection of individual sensors to a heat-meter the sensors have to be inserted in corresponded openings for sensors-installation. After that the nut which is the part of a sensor has to be screwed and tightened to the endstop. To prevent an unauthorized manipulation, the sensors are provided by sealing openings. The installation sealing wire has to be pushed through the nut opening and then through the assembly opening in the body of a flowmeter (or in welded-on piece). Then it has to be sealed not to allow to turn the nut! In the last step the individual sensors are connected to the heat quantity meter according to the wiring diagram. Caution: The lead-in cable resistance in the two-wire connection depends on the cable length. That is why the conductors must not be changed (shortened). The superfluous cable has to be rolled up and fastened. 5 T 16 TEMPERATURE SENSORS 119.3a DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION These temperature sensors were designed as component parts of heat-meters that measure a heat quantity supplied by vapour according to TPM a TPM standards for temperature measurement of condensate in the temperature range 0 to 150 C. They carry the approval identifi cation TCM 321/ The sensors meet the requirements of IEC 751 standard that is declared by the offi cial certifi cation made by TPM standard. The sensors are produced with the temperature sensing elements Pt 100, Pt 500 and Pt The sensors consist of the metal stem and the metal connection head in which the terminal board is fi xed. The sensor stem is made of the stainless steel EN X5CrNi18-10 (DIN ) and the connection head is made of alluminium alloy. A 2-wire or a 4-wire connection may be connected to the sensor (the internal sensor connection uses two wires). Optionally, thermowell JTP 16 made of the stainless steel EN X5CrNi18-10 (DIN ) can be delivered. The sensors are designed to operate in a chemically non-aggressive environment. The standard range of allowable operating temperatures is 0 to 150 C. The sensors are delivered with an attestation by the Authorized Metrological Centre of the company SENSIT s.r.o. 6 T 16 TEMPERATURE SENSORS 119.3a DIMENSIONAL DRAFT T 16 L1 Case length T 16 L2 thermowell length JTP SENSOR INSTALLATION AND SERVICING As a rule, the sensors are fitted with thermowells and installed in tubing in the skew position in the angle of 45 counter to the streaming of the media the temperature of which is to be measured. Before installing these temperature sensors place first the thermowells in locations where the temperature will be measured, and after that push in the sensors as far as the thermowell bottom. Secure the sensor by a screw located in the thermowell. The screw must be tightened to the endstop. Before connecting the lead-in cable screw off the lid of the metal connection head. To secure the IP 54 ingress protection the grommet has to be tightened and the lid has to be screwed on after connecting the lead-in cable. To prevent unauthorized manipulation the sensors are provided with sealing openings. The installation sealing wire has first to be pushed through the opening in the connection head, and then through the plumb opening in the thermowell. Then it has to be sealed not to allow to pull out the sensor out of the thermowell. In the last step the individual sensors are connected to the heat quantity meter.
