1 GATE LOCK MODEL SGLOC2V The SGLOC2V Automatic is compatible with LiftMaster Gate Access Systems LA412, LA412-S, and RSW operators. The purpose of the automatic gate lock is to securely lock the gate in the closed position. CART INVENTORY Watertight Connector (1) WARNING To avoid SERIOUS personal INJURY or DEATH from electrocution: Disconnect ALL electric and battery power BEFORE performing ANY service or maintenance. This device is for use LY with LiftMaster gate operator models LA412, LA412-S, and RSW operators. Read and follow ALL instructions. Have gate in full closed position BEFORE installing the gate lock. Pin Cable Ties (6) Keys (2) Label (1) (Not Shown) BEFORE STARTING Read and follow all instructions. Before getting started, check the carton inventory. Mounting hardware is not provided. Refer to a local hardware store for necessary mounting hardware. The gate lock is designed to use 5/16" diameter mounting hardware. For tubular gates, the following items are needed: Carriage bolts, washers, and nuts. For chain link gates, the following items will be needed: U-bolts, carriage bolts, washers, and nuts. Ensure that the gate closes properly. When the gate lock and gate bracket are properly aligned, the gate lock will latch onto the bracket pin. NOTE: Some installations may require the gate bracket to be recessed in the mounting post so the bracket and lock will be flush and lock properly. Instead of recessing the gate bracket, a spacer may be added between the lock and the gate. Size the spacer before attempting to mount the lock. If installing the gate lock on a Push-to-Open gate, the lock must be installed on the opposite side of the gate. Gate bracket must be Recessed so that the sits flush. Remove gate release pin to allow gate to swing freely during installation of gate lock. 3. Use a level to align the lock and bracket at the end of the gate. 3 NOTE: For chain link and other fencing, additional cross members may be needed to properly support the gate lock (see below). 5. Mount the bracket using purchased hardware. Hand tighten the nuts. 6. Insert the gate bracket pin through the gate bracket. Nuts Pin s Carriage Bolts 7. Slide washer over gate bracket pin. Insert cotter pin through the gate bracket pin and bend back the ends. 8. Mount the lock using purchased hardware. Pin 9. To ensure proper alignment, close gate and mate the lock with bracket and cotter pin. NOTE: Use the key to manually release the lock. Open the cover of the control box by loosening the four screws. Screws Control Box 2. Run the wire back to the control box. Use the cable ties to secure the wire to the gate. To Control Box Cable Ties NOTE: Make sure that the gate does not pinch, bind, or rub the wire. Make sure that the wire does not sag or touch the ground. Never run wire along the bottom edge of the gate between the gate and the ground. Cable Ties 3. Feed the wire into the control box through an available knockout located at the bottom of the control box. If necessary use a screwdriver and hammer to open a new knockout. 4. Connect the red wire to the SOL terminal of the LOCK connector. 2. Connect the black wire to the GND terminal of the LOCK connector. Reconnect gate operator arm to gate using gate release pin and hairpin clip. This will allow enough time for the gate lock to activate and properly release the bracket pin. Dual Gate Installations Set the LOCK/BIPART DELAY to position to ensure the primary gate will open first and close last. Fast Opening Gates If you have a lighter gate that opens quickly you might need to set the LOCK/BIPART DELAY to position to ensure that the lock has enough time to activate before the gate starts moving. Manually open the gate lock using the key. 2. Use the remote control to open the gate. Manually close the gate lock by turning and removing the key. NOTE: The LOCK LED is on whenever the gate lock is opened. 3. Press the remote control button to return the gate to the closed position and make sure that the gate lock properly captures the gate bracket pin, locking the gate. 6

Press the S button. 2. The LED will blink. 3. Use the buttons to move gate 1 to the desired open position. Repeat if gate 2 is present using buttons. 4. Press the S button to set the open limit for gate(s). 5. The LED will turn off. The LED will blink. 6. Use the buttons to move gate 1 to the desired close position. Repeat if gate 2 is present using buttons. 7. Press the S button to set the close limit for gate(s). 8. The LED will turn off. The limits are set. 9. Using programmed remote or single button control (SBC) run the gate(s) from the close limit to the open limit. After reaching the open limit, run the gate(s) to the close limit. This will learn the force in the open and close direction. 8 TROUESHOOTING NOTE: Follow these steps LY if the gate lock fails to activate properly. PROEM Gate lock does not activate. POSSIE SOLUTIS 1. Verify that all wiring is correct. 2. Check wiring connections. It is possible that a wire is inserted too far into a terminal block, grabbing the insulation instead of the copper wire. 3. Verify all the terminal blocks are properly seated on the control board. It is possible to offset these blocks by one position which can prevent correct operation. 4. Bracket pin may be binding and preventing the lock from properly sliding. Verify the bracket and gate lock are properly aligned. Verify that the gate lock can be manually opened with the key when the gate is closed. Do not push against the gate when manually opening the gate lock. Gate lock does not activate fast enough to release bracket pin in order to allow gate to open. 1. Gate may be moving too quickly for the gate lock to properly activate. Turn the Lock/Bipart delay to the position. 2. Bracket pin may be binding and preventing the lock from properly sliding. Verify the bracket and gate lock are properly aligned. Verify that the gate lock can be manually opened with the key when the gate is closed. Do not push against the gate when manually opening the gate lock. 3. Check wiring connections. A loose connection may cause intermittent operation of the gate lock, delaying its response to activate properly. Gate reverses unexpectedly. 1. Ensure there are no obstructions impeding the travel of the gate. 2. Reprogram limits as described on page Readjust force setting according to the operator owner s manual.
