2 Pag. 2-7 Installation instructions. The power cable needs to be carried to the control in such a way that the cable can never be damaged. Install the control box in a place where it can not be damaged by other machines and where it can not get wet. The box is not waterproof (unless explicitly stated). Water in the control box can result in a life threatening situation. The control box needs to be installed in a vibration-free place with easy access for the operator or for possible repairs. Make sure the right control case is connected to the right unit. Each unit has its own adjusted control case. Before connecting the power cables please check whether the connection voltage of the control box corresponds to the mains voltage. The mains cable needs to be provided with a fuse in connection with possible repairs to the installation. The connection cable must be carried into in the case VOLTAGE FREE through a swivel meant for that purpose. After that, the wires must be put into the clips, meant for that purpose. The cover of the control box can now be closed and the nuts of the input swivels need to be tightened. Please note: We advise you not to place a switch between the control box and vibrator as the soft start will not function anymore. 5 Pag. 5-7 ST 6: voltage stabilized controller for electromagnetic vibrators. General information The ST 6 controller has been developed to be able to control the vibration width of electromagnetic vibrators by an analogue control signal. Variations in the mains voltage (+/- 20%) are stabilized by the control making the outgoing voltage to the vibrator, and by that, the vibration width, to remain constant. The standard connection voltage is 230V-50/60Hz or 400V-50/60Hz. Other voltages can be supplied upon request. The control delivers to the vibrator standard 3000 vib/min. Optional this can be changed into 6000 vib/min. On request also 1500 vib/min and 750 vib/min is possible. The desired vibration width of the vibrator can manually be adjusted by using the potentiometer or can automatically be set by an analogue control signal of 0-10V or 0-20mA. As for setting the minimum and maximum vibration width for the manual control as well as the automatic control an adjustment potentiometer has been installed, so that the control area can be located accurately. The vibrator can be started and stopped by voltage-free switching a contact (NO). When starting the vibrator the soft start comes into function. The starting-up time can be chosen: 0.1 s or 1 s. The ST 6 is available in an open version (IP00) for installation in a central control case or in a metal case (IP55). 6 Pag. 6-7 Adjustments In case the control case has not been adjusted by STILETTO, due to e.g. single sale, please follow the adjustment procedure underneath: IF POSSIBLE FIRST MEASURE THE VOLTAGE ON THE CONNECTION VR OF THE OLD CONTROL ON THIS POSITION AND AFTER THAT ADJUST THE NEW CONTROL TO THE SAME VOLTAGE. STANDARD STABILIZED CONTROL, TURN MAIN SWITCH TO 1 1st Step: Turn Jumper Y3 to manual. Turn the adjustment potentiometer (TR2 max) to minimum and the outer potentiometer to maximum.. 2nd Step: With the adjustment potentiometer (TR2 max) adjust the vibration width of the vibrator on maximum, which can be read on the vector image (see page 7) 3 rd Step: Then put the outer pot meter to minimum. 4 th Step: Now check whether the vibration width of the vibrator is 0. If this is not the case, turn back the adjustment pot meter (TR1 min) until this 0 value has been reached. IF POSSIBLE FIRST MEASURE AT THIS POSITION THE VOLTAGE WITH MINIMUM AND MAXIMUM CONTROL SIGNAL ON THE CONNECTIONS VR OF THE OLD CONTROL POWER STABILIZED CONTROL, TURN MAIN SWITCH TO ON. 1st Step: Turn Jumper Y3 to automatic. Turn the adjustment pot meter (TR4 max) to minimum. 2nd Step Connect control tension or control current to the connection blocks 0-20 ma V. 3rd Step: Then switch the max. connection value on the connection, 20 ma or 10V. 4th Step: With the adjustment pot meter (TR4 max) adjust the max. vibration width of the vibrator., which can be read on the vector image (see page 7) Or adjust with the adjustment pot meter (TR4 max) the tension on the connection VIBRATOR until the right value has been reached. 5th Step: Then switch on the min. Connection value on the connection, 0 ma or 0 V. 6th Step: Now check whether the vibration width of the vibrator is 0. If this is not the case, turn back the adjustment pot meter (TR3 min) until this 0 value has been reached. In case the max. vibration width needs be more or less manually or automatically, turn the adjustment pot meter TR2 or TR4. In case the minimum vibration width needs to be adjusted more or less manually or automatically, then turn the adjustment pot meter TR1 or TR3.

7 Pag. 7-7 Reading the vector image The, by the crossing lines enclosed, triangle will seemingly reduce itself with vibration in the indicated direction. Each small line passing the intersection of the lines is equal to 1mm vibration width of the object.
