TENDER CALL Equipment Purchase Fire Truck Pumper/Tanker The Town of Digby will be accepting tenders for one (1) Fire Truck Pumper/Tanker Tender forms and specifications may be picked up at the Town Hall, 147 First Avenue Digby during regular office hours 8:30AM 4:30PM Monday to Friday. Tender forms and specifications can also be downloaded from the Town of Digby s Official Website www.digby.ca. Tenders are to be returned to the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, 147 First Avenue, PO Box 579, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 in a sealed envelope clearly marked, Equipment Purchase Fire truck Pumper/Tanker and are to be received no later than 12:01 PM local time, Friday February 27 2015. Public opening of the tenders received will be held immediately following the tender closing in the Council Chambers at 147 First Avenue, Digby, NS. The Town of Digby reserves the right to reject any or all tenders, not necessarily accept the lowest tender, or accept any tender which it may consider to be in its best interests. General Instructions: TENDER Equipment Purchase Fire truck Pumper/Tanker 1. All bids must be submitted on the tender form supplied with the document. 2. The equipment specification sheets form part of this tender and must not be removed. 3. The Town of Digby considers that all suppliers act in good faith and intend to supply equipment and services of high quality. 4. The Town of Digby will not accept any equipment or material that is inferior to or substituted for factory supplied products. 5. This tender is not intended to exclude standard supplied equipment or materials except where specified. 6. The tender is not intended to favour any particular equipment, manufacturer or contractor. Any names or figures the same or similar to any specific equipment, manufacturer or contractor is purely coincidental. The phrase or equivalent shall apply where a particular specification, equipment, manufacturer or contractor is mentioned. 7. Only firm prices will be considered. 8. Prices are to remain valid for 60 days following the closing of the tender. 9. Equipment suppliers shall submit prices based upon: straight purchase price (no trade in) and; 10. Late tenders will not be considered and will be returned unopened. Fax, telephone, or email bids will not be accepted. 11. The following will be taken into consideration when awarding the tender: The tender meets or exceeds the specifications. All tender forms are completed in all aspects. General Requirements: 1. All tenders must be accompanied by the manufacturer s literature and specifications describing the equipment bid upon. 2. Complete manufacturers specifications and description shall be submitted with each bid. Insufficient descriptive information may be cause for rejection of bid. 3. A complete set of parts books and shop service manuals are to be supplied with the equipment. Supplier is to instruct buyer on proper operation of the equipment upon delivery. 4. Warranty information is to be included with tender submission. 5. Tender price must include all freight, duty, sales tax, and any other charges which are applicable at the time the tender is awarded. It is the responsibility of the bidder to determine from appropriate authorities what taxes, duties, and other charges are applicable to this tender. Equipment is to be delivered to the Digby Volunteer Fire dept First Ave Digby NS 6. The Fire Chief or his designated representative reserves the right to inspect any equipment supplied as a result of this tender prior to taking possession and shall be the sole judge as to whether the equipment supplied meets the specifications. 7. The following specifications are prepared with the intention of providing a basis for securing competitive bids. Notwithstanding certain details of specifications, commodities or equipment of similar design and construction will receive consideration if in the opinion of the using department, they are considered to be suitable for the intended application and generally conform to performance requirements. 8. Any variation from the specifications must be noted on the specification sheet and accompanied by a statement fully outlining any departures from the specifications and fully describing the commodities offered and may be call for rejection if it substantially affects the performance for the intended application.
