TITLE FLIGHT CONTROLS - RIGHT OUTBOARD AILERON WING UP CABLE ASSEMBLY INSPECTION EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 560XL (Excel) -5002 thru -5372 560XL (XLS) -5501 thru -5830 560XL (XLS+) -6001 thru -6162, -6164 thru -6177 The equivalent of this service letter has been incorporated on production airplanes -6178 and On. REASON To inspect the 6660002-14 Right Outboard Aileron Wing Up Cable Assembly for the proper terminal end where it attaches to the aileron sector. It is possible that the terminal end installed was a single shank swaged and not the proper double shank swaged end. DESCRIPTION This service letter provides instructions to inspect the 6660002-14 Right Outboard Aileron Wing Up Cable Assembly for the proper terminal end, and replace as necessary. COMPLIANCE MANDATORY. The service letter must be accomplished at the next maintenance event where the right aileron cable tension is released or the next Phase 5 Inspection/Document 5 Inspection, whichever occurs first. NOTE: The system can operate as designed with the incorrect single shank swaged terminal end provided that it was properly rigged. However, if the upper and lower cables were detached from the sector for maintenance and not labeled, there would not be a means to prevent incorrect reinstallation. Crossed cables would leave the airplane without proper roll control as the ailerons would lose the differential deflection. LABOR HOURS WORK PHASE MAN-HOURS Inspection 0.2 Modification 3.0 NOTE: If this service letter is accomplished at a time other than the next Phase 5 Inspection/Document 5 Inspection, submit a separate warranty claim form.
