Prepare the airplane for maintenance. A. Make sure that the airplane is electrically grounded. B. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. C. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane battery. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. D. Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" writtenonthem. 2. Do the attached Williams International Service Bulletin Engine Oil Breather Tube Assembly & Front Bypass Duct RH Boss Assembly Install. NOTE: Proper cleaning of the engine, engine exhaust, all engine cowlings, pylons, and empennage of residual engine oil is strongly encouraged to avoid the residual oil from continuing to stain the aircraft. 3. Remove the maintenance warning tags and connect the airplane battery. 4. Record that this service letter has been completed. A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. C. Engine Oil Breather Tube Assembly & Front Bypass Duct RH Boss Assembly Install 1. Planning Information A. Effectivity: This service bulletin applies to the following Williams International turbofan engines: ENGINE MODEL NUMBER ENGINE PART NUMBER ENGINE SERIAL NUMBERS FJ44-4A 73200-200 211001, 211003 211011, 211013 211024, 211027 211158, 211161 216164, 211183, 211184 B. Reason: Upgrade front bypass duct right-hand (RH) boss assembly to new design configuration along with new oil breather tube assembly. This new design configuration eliminates oil staining of the aircraft from the engines oil breather discharge located at the trailing edge of the engines service island. C. Compliance: This service bulletin is RECOMMENDED and should be complied with during the next scheduled Check 1 or Check 2 or at HSI. All material and labor associated with this service bulletin will be covered by Williams International. D. Description: This service bulletin gives instructions to remove the installed front bypass duct (RH) boss assembly from the above listed engines and to install P/N 118498 front bypass duct RH boss assembly along with P/N 119602 oil breather tube assembly. E. Approval: This service bulletin has been reviewed by the appropriate governmental authority and the technical content herein complies with applicable Aviation Regulations and are APPROVED. F. 2. Accomplishment Instructions FJ44 SERVICE BULLETIN NOTE: Residual oil on the engine or cowling can give a false indication of an oil leak. A. Prior to any engine maintenance, verify and clean the aircraft of any evidence of oil staining. B. Prepare the engine for maintenance as applicable: 1. Install DO NOT OPERATE signs. 2. Open the circuit breakers to isolate the engine electrical supply. 3. Remove the cowling. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. 4. Disconnect aircraft bleed plumbing from the RH boss assembly. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. 5. Remove the exhaust duct. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. C. Remove the gearbox breather tube assembly. Refer to 72-00-60, P.B. 401, TASK 72-00-60-020-803, Subtask 72-00-60-020-002, Step A-2 & A-3 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. D. Remove the flowmeter to manifold tube assembly, oil cooler to FDU tube assembly, and FDU to oil cooler tube assembly. Refer to 73-10-01, P.B. 401, TASK 73-10-01-050-809 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. E. Remove the alternator from the aft side of the gearbox. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. F. Remove the fuel manifold filter. Refer to 73-25-01, P.B. 401, TASK 73-25-01-050- 801 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. G. Remove the right-hand igniter plugs. Refer to 74-22-01, P.B. 401, TASK 74-22-01-050-801 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. H. Remove the following from the front bypass duct RH boss assembly as follows: 1. Remove the retaining rings (1-60), igniter plug plate seals (1-50), and igniter plus seal rings (1-40) from the igniter plug ports. Reference Figure 1. 2. Remove the HP bleed air fittings (1-100) from the HP bleed ports. Removed the retaining rings (1-90), HP bleed air seal retainers (1-80), and HP bleed air seal plates (1-70) from the HP bleed ports. Reference Figure 1. I. Remove the installed front bypass duct RH boss assembly as follows: 1. Remove screws (1-127), washers (1-126), and CDP fitting retainer plate (1-125). Reference Figure 1. 2. Remove screw (1-150), washer (1-140), and special washer (1-130) which attach retaining plate (1-120) to service adapter. Remove retaining plate and O-ring (1-110) from fuel service adapter port. Reference Figure 1. 3. Remove 20 screws (1-180) and 20 washers (1-190) securing the boss assembly to the bypass duct. Remove the boss assembly and discard O-ring. Reference Figure 1. J. Install the front bypass duct RH boss assembly P/N 118498 as follows: 1. Lubricate O-ring P/N 73104 (1-170) with a light coat of assembly fluid (MAT- 011) and install on the front bypass duct RH boss assembly. Reference Figure 1. 2. Secure the front bypass duct RH boss assembly with 20 screws (1-180) and washers (1-190). Torque screws 32 to 36 inch-pounds. Reference Figure 1. K. Install the following into the front bypass duct RH boss assembly: 1. Lubricate O-ring (1-110) with a light coat of assembly fluid (MAT-011) and install on retaining plate (1-120). Reference Figure 1. 2. Install retaining plate (1-120) over the fuel service port on the front bypass duct RH assembly. Install special washer (1-130), washer (1-140), and screw (1-150). Torque screws 25 to 28 inch-pounds. Reference Figure 1. 3. Install CDP fitting retainer plate (1-125), washers (1-126), and screws (1-127). Torque screws 25 to 28 inch-pounds. Reference Figure 1. L. Install the following to the front bypass duct RH boss assembly: 1. Install the HP bleed air seal plates (1-70), HP bleed air seal retainers (1-80), and retaining rings (1-90) to the HP bleed ports. Reference Figure 1. 2. Lubricate the HP bleed air fittings (1-100) with magnesium hydroxide (MAT- 013) or anti-seize lubricant (MAT-015) and install into HP bleed ports. Torque 1619 to 1674 inch-pounds. Reference Figure 1. 3. Install igniter plug seal rings (1-40), igniter plug plate seals (1-50), and retaining rings (1-60) into igniter ports. Reference Figure 1. M. Install the right-hand igniter plugs. Refer to 74-22-01, P.B. 401, TASK 74-22-01-450- 803 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. N. Install the fuel manifold filter. Refer to 73-25-01, P.B. 401, TASK 73-25-01-450-801 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. O. Install the alternator. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. Page 4 of 8

P. Install the flowmeter to manifold tube assembly, oil cooler to FDU tube assembly, and FDU to oil cooler tube assembly. Refer to 73-10-01, P.B. 401, TASK 73-10-01-450-810 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. Q. Install the gearbox breather tube assembly. Refer to 72-00-60, P.B. 401, TASK 72-00-60-420-803, Subtask 72-00-60-420-001, Step A-9 & A-10 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual and 72-00-60, Figure 01 of the FJ44-4A Illustrated Parts Catalog. R. Install P/N 119602 oil breather tube assembly as follows: 1. Install M83248/1-016 O-ring onto P/N 119602 oil breather tube assembly and install the oil breather tube assembly into the front bypass duct RH boss assembly. 2. Secure with MS9321-08 washer and MS9207-07 screw. Torque screw 25 to 28 inch-pounds. Reference Figure 2. S. Remove existing MS9208-04 bolt from the mixer case assembly. Install MS21919WCJ10 loop clamp onto oil breather tube assembly. Secure loop clamp to mixer case assembly with MS9208-06 bolt. Torque bolt 49 to 55 inch-pounds. Reference Figure 2. T. Put the engine back to normal: NOTE: Residual oil on the engine or cowling can give a false indication of an oil leak. 1. Engine and cowling must be thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to performing Idle Speed and Leak Check run. 2. Re-install the exhaust duct. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. 3. Re-connect aircraft bleed plumbing to the RH boss assembly. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. 4. Re-install the cowling. Refer to the Aircraft Maintenance Manual. 5. Close the circuit breakers 6. Remove DO NOT OPERATE signs. U. Perform an Idle Speed and Leak Check Run in accordance with 71-00-00, P.B. 501, TASK 71-00-00-760-854 of the FJ44-4A Maintenance Manual. V. Record the accomplishment of this service bulletin in the engine logbook. W. Register your compliance with this service bulletin by filling out the Certificate of Compliance and returning it to the address shown. Page 5 of 8
