The hadle locatio is really a matter of persoal preferece, however havig the hadle away from the sigle wheel assembly allows for easier loadig/uloadig from a va. 2. Choose the gu arm positio There are multiple holes i the frame for moutig the gu arm. I a stadard set up (hadle away from the sigle wheel assembly), the gu arm would be mouted i oe of the two moutig holes ear the sigle wheel. This allows for a easier visual check for straight lie stripig ad for basic arc stripig. The moutig holes uder the hadle are usually used whe the hadle has bee placed over the sigle wheel. Experimet with differet combiatios to fid the set up that you prefer. 3. Settig up the gu a. Esure that a stripig tips is i the gus. b. Pick a tip size for the desired lie width. Example: a 217ST tip for a four ich lie. c. Place gu ito the gu holder, so that the top of the taper o the gu hadle is flush with the edge of the gu holder. d. Set gu height for the desired lie width. Adjust height by looseig the small black hadle o the gu holder assembly ad slide the gu arm to the correct height. Now tighte the hadle. This will require some experimetatio to fid the correct height. It is suggested that tape, or some other method is used to mark the height of commoly used settigs. e. Attach the swivel heads to the gu if paitig curbs or wide stripes. f. Agle the gu slightly forward. This allows the spray pressure from the gu to help blow dirt ad debris out of the path of the ew stripe. 4. Cable Tesio Adjustmet Oce the hadle ad gu arm assemblies are set up to the preferred positio, pressurize the uit ad trigger the gu to esure that they activate ad release correctly. If ot, adjust the cable tesio as follows: a. Locate the adjustmet kobs o the base of the gu trigger, where the cable coects to the gu trigger assembly. b. Loose the lockig ut & move the adjustig screw util the slack has bee removed from the cable. c. Tighte lockig ut ad retest gu triggers for proper fuctio. NOTE: There is additioal cable adjustmet where the cable attaches to the gu holder assembly. Use oly if the gu trigger adjustmet is isufficiet. 5. Miscellaeous Operatios a. CURBS: Adjust gu to desired height ad tur swivel head towards curb. b. WIDE STRIPES: Istall wider fa stripig tips ad raise the gu height to achieve the desired width lie. c. STENCILS: Istall stadard spray tip. Remove gu from the gu holder ad spray out the stecils. d. STANDARD PAINTING: Same as stecils, but use additioal pait hose as required. With the egie at maximum RPM (3600), pressure cotrol kob i maximum (CW) positio ad prime valve ope (primig), read the AC voltage from the mageto lead to the sprayer frame. This readig should be 19-24 VAC. If outside this rage, cotact your local Hoda repair facility for mageto replacemet. If the mageto is producig the proper AC voltage, cotiue to Step 7. STEP 7: Test the sesor by readig the resistace betwee the red ad black wires. The resistace rus betwee 1.5-3K ohms. A defective sesor usually shows o resistace (ope). If the readig is outside stadards, replace the sesor. A alterative method to test the sesor, is to plug a ew sesor ito the board ad see if the clutch will egage. Cautio! Whe usig this method, esure prime/ pressure valve is i the prime positio. This is importat because the sesor plugged ito the board is ot measurig pressure i the fluid sectio. STEP 8: Whe Steps 6 & 7 have bee completed ad the mageto ad sesor check good, the electrical cotrol board is the oly item left, replace the board. 23
