05714 DTC B1140/32 SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY (RH) MALFUNCTION 05A1M01 CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION The side airbag sensor assy RH consists of the diagnosis circuit and lateral deceleration sensor, etc. It receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, judges whether or not the SRS must be activated, and detects diagnosis system malfunction. DTC B1140/32 is recorded when occurrence of a malfunction in the side airbag sensor assy RH is detected. INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1 CHECK SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY LH 05715 CG H01012 H10600 H01065 Side RH DLC3 TC DTC B1140/32 H40442 Connect the negative () terminal cable to the battery, Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds. Clear the DTC stored in memory (See page 05614 ). (d) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds. (e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds. (f) Check the DTC (See page 05614 ). DTC B1140/32 is not output. HINT: Codes other than code B1140/32 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 2 CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER CONNECTOR Turn the ignition switch to LOCK. Disconnect the negative () terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds. Check that the connector is properly connected to the airbag sensor assy center. The connectors are connected. CONNECT CONNECTORS 3 CHECK SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR ASSY CONNECTOR Check that the connector is properly connected to the side airbag sensor assy RH. The connector is connected. CONNECT CONNECTORS 902

05716 4 CHECK FLOOR WIRE(OPEN) Side RH C91384 C91385 H42461 (d) Disconnect the floor wire connectors from the airbag sensor assy center and the side airbag sensor assy RH. Using a service wire, connect and of the floor wire connector on the side airbag sensor assy RH side. Using a service wire, connect and of the floor wire connector on the side airbag sensor assy RH side. Measure the resistance between,, SSRand of the floor wire connector on the airbag sensor assy center side. Resistance: Below 1 Ω 5 CHECK FLOOR WIRE(TO GROUND) Side RH Disconnect the service wire from the floor wire connector on the side airbag sensor assy RH side. Measure the resistance between the body ground and each of,, and of the floor wire connector on the airbag sensor assy center side. Resistance: 1MΩ or Higher 903

05717 6 CHECK FLOOR WIRE Measure the resistance between,, SSRand of the floor wire connector on the airbag sensor assy center side. Resistance: 1MΩ or Higher Side RH 7 CHECK FLOOR WIRE(TO B+) Side RH Connect the negative () terminal cable to the battery, Turn the ignition switch to ON. Measure the voltage between the body ground and,, and of the floor wire connector on the airbag sensor assy center side. Voltage: Below 1 V 904

Disconnect the negative () terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds. Connect the airbag sensor assy center connector. (d) Interchange the side airbag sensor assy RH and LH and connect the connectors to them. (e) Connect the negative () terminal cable to the battery, (f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds. (g) Clear the DTC stored in memory (See page 05614 ). (h) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds. (i) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds. (j) Check the DTC (See page 05614 ).
