B :DETAILED SPECIFICATIONS General Requirements: The Item Nos. 1 to 7 will be procured from a single supplier. There has to be feasibility or should provide fixtures to use Proving Rings and Dial Gauges (having same range) as per Item 1 and 3 for multiple apparatus in item 3 to 5. 1. Proving Ring 2 kn/2.5kn - Capacity : - 02 No a. Compression-Tension proving ring fitted with a dial gauge accurate to 0.002mm accuracy, capacity: 2 kn/2.5 kn, compatible to be used with item nos. 3 to 5. b. Calibration Certificate from approved agency. 2. Dial Gauge 0-25mm x 0.01mm : - 02 No a. Dial Guage with 25mm travel having least count 0.01mm compatible to be used with item no. 3 to 5 b.certificate of accuracy in measurement. 3. DIRECT SHEAR TEST APPARATUS :- 01 No (Excluding Proving Ring & Dial Gauges) The complete working set up to comply and to perform the test for 60x60x25mm soil sample as per SP-36 part-1. The set up should include following main parts: a. Loading Frame:Motorized loading with 6 speed gear box assembly to apply the load at the rate of 0.025, 0.050, 0.125, 0.25, 0.625 and 1.25 mm/min. It shouldbe with base anchor bolts & necessary provisions with details. The frame should have a loading yoke assembly to apply normal load to the shear box upto 3 kg/cm2, with fixtures for proving ring, shear load application, shear box housing, brackets for holding vertical and horizontal dial gauges etc. complete as required. The assembly should have

The set up should include following main parts : a. Loading frame 50 kn capacity, Motorized with three speed gear box assembly to apply the load at the rate of 1.25, 1.50, 2.50 mm/min. The assembly should have smooth finish and have trace free powder coated paint/ chrome plated.it should be operated with 220 V, 50Hz, Single phase AC Supply. It should have fixtures as adapter for proving ring, vertical displacement dial gauge holder etc. b. Plain Platen 150mm dia. with adapter (1 no) and steel ball (02nos). c. Pair of conical seating with conical grooving tool for 38mm and 50mm dia. samples. d. Split mould size: 38 diax 76 mm long, 50 dia. x 100mm long e. Rubber Sheath for 38 and 50 mm dia specimen-12nos each. It should be operated with 220 V, 50Hz, Single phase AC Supply.
5. SWELL TEST APPARATUS : 1 No. (Excluding Proving Ring & Dial Gauges) The complete working set up to comply and to perform the Swell Pressure Test for 100mm dia. soil sample as per SP-36 part-1. The set up should include following main parts : 1. Load frame, hand operated, capacity: 5 kn 2. Mould 100 mm dia. x127.3 mm height (1000 ml volume) with base plate and collar. ( Brass) 3. LABORATORY VANE SHEAR TEST: - 1 No. The complete working set up to comply and to performthe test for 38mm dia. soil sample as per SP-36 part-1 for shear strength upto 0.50 kg/cm 2. The set up should include following main parts : A torque application having a base with hole for holding the specimen mould in position, torque head is electrically driven by a small reduction geared motor (220volts, 50 Hz single phase AC supply) with a strain of 1/60 revolution (6 º per minute) attached to a measuring device 1. A set of four springs, one each of with different stiffness to measure shear strength upto 0.5 kg/cm2. The spring calibration certificate to attached with the stiffness of spring mentioned in kg-cm/revolution 2. A vane of size 12.0 X 24.0 mm long with a vane rod, 3. 38mm dia. container and Stand with necessary fixtures the container.
8. BENCH TYPE CONSOLIDOMETER 3 GANG : 01 No The complete working set up to comply and to perform the consolidation test for 60mm dia.soil sample as per SP-36 part-1. The set up should include following main parts : a. Loading Frame: The frame is Aluminum cast body, powder coated paint, 1:10 loading yoke assembly with arrangement for self alignment and jerk less load transfer to specimen for all 3 Gangs. The frame capacity should be for load transfer of 20 kg/cm 2 in each of the three loading units mounted on frame. : 1 No. b. Brass cup, as crank and cam mechanism, mounted on rubber base with standardhardness as per code provisions, with drop adjustment mechanism and blow counter. 2. Brass Grooving tool Type A and B and Gauging Block, 3mm dia brass rod as per IS:9259 IS: 2720 3. Spatula 2nos. 10. SHRINKAGE LIMIT DEVICE : 03 Nos. 12. HIGH SPEED STIRRER : 1 Nos For use in the Hydrometer test as per SP-36 part-1. 1. A mechanical stirring device fitted with a motor rotating the shaft at 8,000 to 10,000rpm when loaded. The shaft equipped with replaceable stirring paddle which made of plastic or hard rubber provide replaceable paddle 2 no. addl. 2. Dispersion cup made of Brass with baffles for use in dispersion cup 3. To be operated with 220 volts 50 Hz, single phase AC supply. 13. POST HOLE AUGUR WITH TEE PIECE &HANDLE 2 NOS. WITH EXTENTION RODS & HEXAGONAL COUPLINGS 12 NOS.. Post hole type Auger out fit, 100 mm diameter with blades made from steel conforming to designation T 90 of Schedule VI of IS 1570 : 1961 with a maximum sulphur and phosphorus content of 0.05 percent. The edges of the blade shall be backed with nonerodable welding so as to have hardness 600 to 700 HV 10 (see IS 1501 :1968) so as to perform as cutting edge for auguring in soil. The out is fitted with coupling for connection to extension rods. The connecting T and Handle shall be made from heavy grade MS (IS 1239-pt1) Extension Rod each 1m longshall be made from heavy grade MS (IS 1239-pt1) with hardened hexagonal coupling and threading for its connectivity. The outfit to be coated with one coat of red oxide followed by trace free coats of Enamel paint. 14. THIN WALLED UNDISTURBED SAMPLER : 40, 65 and 80mm dia. : 3 nos each. ( Complete sampler assembly as per: IS-11594 / SP-36 pt-2. Chrome Plated MS sampling tubs for collecting undisturbed soil sample from bore hole. The Area Ratio upto 10% and inside clearance 1 to 3 % for each size. Attached with sampling heads as detailed in the code and provision for connecting to square threaded A- Rods. (Preferred Length for 40, 65 and 80mm dia are 300, 300 and 450mm respectively). Alternate diameters 38, 50 and 70/75mmmay be quoted if IS sizes are not available, provided other details comply code provisions.
15. HOT AIR OVEN-605 mm X 605 mm X 605mm : 01 No. The outer body is made from MS with powder coated paint and the inner body from Stainless Steel (304Q) with a gap of 75 mm filled with Glass Wool heat insulator. The perforated selves 4 nos. are made from stainless steel wires. The door should be fully insulated with insulation gaskets and provision of brass lock hinges and aluminum ventilators with chrome plated spring type automatic roller to and fro latch. The other features include : a. The range temperature should be ambient to 250 C with a Temperature sensitivity +/- 1 C & Uniformity of +1 C /-2 C or betterall around the Chamber. b. Power supply: - 230V, AC 50 Hz c. There should be exhaust holes which may also be used to calibrate the oven. d. It should be provided with Temperature Control Display using digital Dual display Temperature controller with PT 100 sensor and on/off Light Indicator - (PID temperature controller cum Indicator), with NABL Calibration Certificate e. Heating elements: - NICROM wire/fins type heater at bottom & sides for better circulation. f. Instruction manual to be provided for operation & maintenance. g. There should be provision of Digital Electronic Time for Auto Switch off. h. Blower fitted with ISI marked motor to circulate the inside air and to provide forced dry air to the samples. 16. HOT AIR OVEN - 605 mm X 605 mm X 910mm (height) : 01 No. The outer body is made from GI/MS with powder coated paint and the inner body from Stainless Steel (304Q) with a gap of 75 mm filled with Glass Wool heat insulator. The perforated selves 4 nos. are made from stainless steel wires.
