ONE (1) TON AND A HALF GAS/CNG COMPATIBLE CREWCAB TRUCK WITH DUMP BED Listed below are the specifications for the purchase of a ton and a half (5500 series) GAS/CNG compatible truck with dump bed for the City of Thomasville. This specification is patterned after the heavy duty Dodge Ram 5500 with a Knapheide dump bed, yet has been modified in an effort not to eliminate other suitable manufacturers in order to encourage participation by all suppliers of equal or similar equipment. Truck shall be bid with Knapheide Straight Side Knap-Pack mounted between cab and dump bed to accommodate CNG tank. Truck also shall be bid with dump bed Class V receiver hitch with 7 pin trailer plug and factory installed brake controller. All bid offers that meet the intent of the specifications will be given full consideration. In all cases where the equipment offered does not meet the requirements as specified, the variance must be pointed out on the bid submission to permit full review and consideration. Bidder is required to furnish a copy of the manufacturer s specification and performance data for the truck submitted for bid. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: 1 - DESIGN: The truck shall be new, latest manufacture, and of current design and production. The truck shall be fully assembled, it shall include all necessary operating components and accessories, which are customarily furnished unless otherwise stated, and to insure reliability and efficiency in sustained regular operation. 2. MANUALS: The dealer shall be required to supply one (1) complete set (in English) of all operations, parts, drivability, emission, wiring schematics and maintenance manuals provided with new truck sales, at time of delivery. Manuals in CD format would be preferable 3. EQUIPMENT: In all cases where the manufacturer has a selection of equipment considered either standard or heavyduty, such as cooling system, shocks, batteries and so forth, the truck being purchased shall be quoted as delivered with the heavy-duty item being provided. 4. EXTRAS: a. Unit will be supplied with a five (5) pound ABC fire extinguisher, which will be mounted in cab. b. Unit will be supplied with a double flash, hi-intensity, bar style strobe light. Unit will be a Whelen Model G7MA. Light will be wired to a fused switch within reach of the driver. No holes are to be drilled in the roof. External flush mount LED strobes that will give visibility from all four (4) corners of the truck. c. Cab, chassis and service body are to be undercoated. All descriptive dealer code tags be taped over prior to undercoating to save integrity of tag. 5.
