PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL GAUGE TORQUE MEASURING SYSTEM WHY USE A TORQUE MEASURING SYSTEM? Whe Screw Piles/Piers are istalled, a torque readig is required to esure that these have bee istalled to the correct specificatio. Project egieers will geerally demad that a specific torque requiremet be reached, depedig o what the piles/piers are beig istalled for. Traditioally, torque is calculated by a sigle sesor gauge located at the hydraulic pump (A) i the excavator. This is ot a true accurate measuremet, as pressure is lost as the oil travels up the boom to the Drive Uit. Added to this is also aother loss factor of back pressure created as the oil is trasferred back to the paret machie. Pressure readigs ca be out by as much as 15-20% by the use of this sigle gauge system. Digga s Torque Measurig System comprises of two sesors, the first sesor is located o the supply lie at the etry to the drive uit (B). The secod sesor is located o the retur lie where oil leaves the drive uit (C). A microprocessor calculates the actual usable pressure usig these two sesors, givig a true readig which is up to 12-15% more accurate tha traditioal methods.
