SX Shift On The Go (SOTG) Control System Overview ESCRIPTION The Sauer-anfoss Shift On The Go System combines the possibilities of modern digital electronics with worldwide proven SUER-SUNSTRN hydrostatic components, to increase the machine performance and operation. The mobile computer SX provides the necessary performance for a flexible and future oriented control concept. With easy changeable parameters (via software) it is possible to make an individual setup for different machine types. Central part of the SOTG application is a control concept to shift between mechanical gear ratios without any clutch and synchronizer. The transmission of a vehicle using Shift on the Go is based on a standard NFPE application. The complete shifting procedure as well as the NFPE drive are controlled by the SX-. FETURES Environmentally hardened for mobile applications. Supply voltage V C or 4 V C. Software changes without hardware operations. Individual setup per software possible. NFPE drive control. Nonlinear Inching function. Overspeed function. Selectable drive characteristics (soft/aggressive ramp). Setup function for SOTG learning curve of unloaded system. utomatic gear detection for system start. Shifting control dependent on driver s command. Protection against impossible shift commands. Indication of available gears by status lamps. Visual error output (Blink code for red Error LE). iagnostic functions and emergency routines. Communication between SX and Laptop via RS. Update software download. Optional: Modification of the software regarding automatic shifting concept. SX Shift On The Go (SOTG) Control System Theory of Operation THEORY OF OPERTION SYSTEM BLOCK GRM The driver can select each gear by pushing a button. status lamp for each gear indicates whether the selected gear is available depending on the actual machine and diesel speed. To engage the gears with electromagnetic force special power outputs has to be provided on the hardware I/O board. To shift the gear while the machine is driving the application has to check the actual speed conditions first and then adjust the NFPE current to unload the system for the short time of disengaging. strong mechanical spring will force the gear out. When the gearbox reaches neutral position which is indicated by a mechanical switch the application synchronizes the motor speed for the selected gear. On a certain delta speed between motor and gearbox a shifting current up to 4 will be applied to the corresponding electromagnet. The NFPE output current will return to the value from the NFPE driving curve as soon as the next gear is engaged.
