ATTENTION!!! This pneumatic axial fan must be operated at a maximum pressure of 4 bar only and therefore it has to be equipped with a pressure governor ref. 92405 0050 R ¾. Compiled: 06.08.13 815340300_en_Version_02 Page 2 of 11

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION At an operation pressure of 4 bar: Nominal diametre mm 600 Unit length mm 520 Weight kg 58 Max. operating pressure Air consumption (blowing) Volume flow (unrestricted discharge) bar 4 m³/min m³/s 3.84 (135 cfm) 5.83 (12.360 cfm) Hose diametre mm 19 ATEX Classification Group II Category 2 G c T 6 Description The pneumatic axial fans comply with the provisions of the Directive 94/9/EC (Atex 95a). Any surfaces between the rotating and fixed components which could normally be expected to come into contact during operational faults are made of materials with reduced risk of ignition due to friction or contact sparks. Compiled: 06.08.13 815340300_en_Version_02 Page 3 of 11

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS The following symbols refer to particular dangers or give advice for save operation. Attention! Danger! Safety advice! Important information Spitznas axial fans are not ready for use products and must only be used after having been fitted to machines, ventilation devices and systems or after their safety has been ensured through the use of protection against contact (DIN EN 294) or other construction devices. Spitznas axial fans are produced in accordance with the latest technical standards. Our quality assurance programme (DIN EN ISO 9001:2000) which includes material and function tests, ensures that the final product is of a high quality and durability. Nevertheless these fans can be dangerous if they are not used and installed correctly, according to the instruction. Before installing and operating this fan read this instruction carefully! Only use the fan after it has been securely mounted and fitted with protection against contact or protective grilles to suit the application. Remove protective grilles only for cleaning. Subsequently assemble again. Before working on the fan always disconnect air hose. Earth the fan against static electrification! Compiled: 06.08.13 815340300_en_Version_02 Page 4 of 11

Use Intended use Conveying of big volume flows through pipes, as well as for ventilation and de-aeration for the following applications: - ship construction - refineries - chemical industry Conveying of gas Improper use Working without personal protective equipment. The operator is liable for defects due to improper use. Danger zones Operational condition Life phase Transport Operation Normal function Malfunction Improper use Expected use Transport of the machine in an inoperable condition Machine only works with actuated switch Drop of the machine Machine runs without actuated switch Transport of the machine in an operable condition Switch is blocked in actuated condition unknown unknown Compiled: 06.08.13 815340300_en_Version_02 Page 5 of 11

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS Conditions of use Please ensure no foreign matter, e.g. paint particles, gets into the airflow and causes damage to the impeller, as it can generate static charging by friction, which can cause an explosion. Storage, Transport Store fan in its original package in a dry place and protect it against the weather. If stored for a long period, check the impeller bearing move freely by turning it by hand. Installation Ensure that fans are mounted by competent, trained personnel. Protective grills are mounted at the air inlet and outlet ends to avoid foreign substances falling inside or being sucked in. Do not install without proper support Be careful not to damage the casing or any moving parts Do not apply unnecessary force e.g. levering, hammering when installing For all work on the fan Assembly Operation Service Maintenance care should be taken that the gap between the fan wheel and the fixed housing components is regular. The minimum distances must be at least 1% of the greatest contact diameter, but no less than 2 mm. The gaps are already considered at production. Compiled: 06.08.13 815340300_en_Version_02 Page 6 of 11

Operation Operating pressure: 4 bar Before starting blow out the air hose and connect it to the fan. Do not lubricate the turbine. Do not fit a line oiler or inject oil into the hose. Maintenance Repair of the fan should only be performed by qualified and skilled workers in accordance with applying regulations. General checking: Bearing clearance to large? Emerged lubricant on the bearing? Unusual noise? The bearings are maintenance-free and have not to be lubricated. Spare Parts Only original spare parts may be used. There is no warranty for damages and liability is disclaimed, if non-original spare parts and accessories are used. Compiled: 06.08.13 815340300_en_Version_02 Page 7 of 11
