TITLE LIGHTS - LIGHT EMITTING DIODE (LED) EMERGENCY OVER WING LIGHT INSTALLATION EFFECTIVITY MODEL SERIAL NUMBERS 750 (Citation X) -0001 thru -0284 The equivalent of this service bulletin has been incorporated on production airplanes -0285 and On. NOTE: Airplanes must have SB750-33-31 Lights - Bonding Improvement For The Over Wing Emergency Light installed before or at the same time as this service bulletin. REASON Provides a LED-style replacement light for the emergency over wing light mounted in the right fuselage fairing panel. DESCRIPTION This service bulletin provides the parts and instructions necessary to replace the incandescent emergency over wing light with a LED light assembly. COMPLIANCE OPTIONAL. This service bulletin can be accomplished at the discretion of the owner. A service bulletin published by Cessna Aircraft Company may be recorded as completed in an aircraft log only when the following requirements are satisfied: 1) The mechanic must complete all of the instructions in the service bulletin, including the intent therein. 2) The mechanic must correctly use and install all applicable parts supplied with the service bulletin kit. Only with written authorization from Cessna Aircraft Company can substitute parts or rebuilt parts be used to replace new parts. 3) The mechanic or airplane owner must use the technical data in the service bulletin only as approved and published. 4) The mechanic or airplane owner must apply the information in the service bulletin only to aircraft serial numbers identified in the Effectivity section of the bulletin. 5) The mechanic or airplane owner must use maintenance practices that are identified as acceptable standard practices in the aviation industry and governmental regulations. Install SB750-33-31 Lights - Bonding Improvement For The Over Wing Emergency Light. NOTE: Airplanes must have SB750-33-31 Lights - Bonding Improvement For The Over Wing Emergency Light installed before or at the same time as this service bulletin. 2. Prepare the airplane for maintenance: A. Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position. B. Disconnect electrical power from the airplane. (1) Disconnect the airplane batteries. (2) Disconnect external electrical power. C. Attach maintenance warning tags to the batteries and external power receptacle that have "DO NOT CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS" on them. 3. Remove the right fuselage fairing panel 174AT. (Refer to the Model 750 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.) 4. (Refer to Figure 1.) Remove the 30-1767-X Light Assembly: A. Remove and discard four MS24693C28 Screws from the 30-1767-X Light Assembly. B. Disconnect the electrical connector. C. Remove and discard the 30-1767-X Light Assembly. 5. (Refer to Figure 2.) Do the wire modifications as follows: A. (Airplanes -0001 thru -0080.) Cut the terminals from the wires marked 1FR006-DPR060 and 2FR006-57PR006. (1) Install the two S4001-2 ID Sleeves marked 2JR100 - DPR060 on the wire marked 1FR006-DPR060. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Wiring - Maintenance Practices.) (2) Install the two S4001-2 ID Sleeves marked 1JR100-57PR006 on the wire marked 2FR006-57PR006. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Wiring - Maintenance Practices.) (3) Install the two S1636-1 Sockets on the ends of the wires. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical Connectors - Maintenance Practices.) (4) Install the S2035-2 Housing. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical Connectors - Maintenance Practices.) B. (Airplanes -0081 thru -0284.) Cut the terminals from the wires marked 1FR006-DPR060, 2FR006-WHTDR005 and 2FR006-WHTDR006. (1) Install the two S4001-2 ID Sleeves marked 2JR100 - DPR060 on the wire marked 1FR006-DPR060. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Wiring - Maintenance Practices.) (2) Install the two S4001-2 ID Sleeves marked 1JR100-WHTDR005 on the wire marked 2FR006-WHTDR005. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Wiring - Maintenance Practices.) (3) Install the two S4001-2 ID Sleeves marked 1JR100-WHTDR006 on the wire marked 2FR006-WHTDR006. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Wiring - Maintenance Practices.) (4) Install the M81824/1-1 Splice on the ends of the wires marked 1JR100-WHTDR005 and 1JR100-WHTDR006. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Splices and Terminals - Maintenance Practices.) (5) Install the 3 Inch M81044/12-22-9 Wire (Unmarked) into the M81824/1-1 Splice. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Splices and Terminals - Maintenance Practices.) (6) Install the two S1636-1 Sockets on the ends of the wires. (Refer to the Model 750 Wiring Diagram Manual, Chapter 20, Electrical Connectors - Maintenance Practices.) (7) Install the S2035-2 Housing. 6. (Refer to Figure 1.) Install the OWL100-01 LED Light Assembly: NOTE: The exposed surface of the OWL100-01 LED Light Assembly may be painted or polished at the discretion of the airplane owner. The light assembly should be painted or polished before the assembly is installed. A. Install the OWL100-01 LED Light Assembly in the access panel with four MS24693S27 Screws. NOTE: The OWL100-01 LED Light Assembly must be installed with the vent hole in the down position. NOTE: The OWL100-01 LED Light Assembly must be installed with the wiring going aft. B. Connect the electrical connector. C. Use the S2209-1 Tie Straps to secure any excess wire length. 7. Install the right fuselage fairing panel 174AT. (Refer to the Model 750 Maintenance Manual, Chapter 6, Access Plates and Panels Identification - Description and Operation.) 8. Do a test of the emergency exit light: A. Remove the warning tags and connect battery power to the airplane. B. Move the EMER LTS switch to the ON position. C. Make sure that emergency over wing light is on. D. Move the EMER LTS switch to the OFF position. E. Remove battery power from the airplane. 9. Record that this service bulletin has been completed: A. Complete a Maintenance Transaction Report. B. Put a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report in the airplane logbook. C. Send a copy of the completed Maintenance Transaction Report to: CESCOM, P.O. Box 7706, Wichita, KS 67277.
