This racing exhaust system is covered by a twelve month manufacturers warranty. Triumph warranty standard terms and conditions are not affected by the fitment of the Speed Triple 050 Arrow Race Exhaust System. Always have Triumph approved parts, accessories and conversions fitted by a trained technician of an authorised Triumph dealer. The fitment of parts, accessories and conversions by a technician who is not of an authorised Triumph dealer may affect the handling, stability or other aspects of the motorcycles operation which may result in loss of motorcycle control and an accident. Throughout this operation, ensure that the motorcycle is stabilised and adequately supported on a paddock stand to prevent risk of injury from the motorcycle falling. A torque wrench of known accurate calibration must be used when fitting this accessory kit. Failure to tighten any of the fasteners to the correct torque specification may affect motorcycle performance, handling and stability. This may result in loss of motorcycle control and an accident. If the engine has recently been running, the exhaust system will be hot. Before working on or near the exhaust system, allow sufficient time for the system to cool, as touching any part of a hot exhaust could cause burn injuries. Before fitting this accessory kit, ensure the owner of the motorcycle has been informed of the s contained in these instructions. Ensure that the Triumph Speed Triple 050 Service Manual is available for reference during the fitting of this accessory kit. Completely read all the instructions before commencing the installation and set up of the accessory kit in order to become thoroughly familiar with the kit s features and the installation process. of 6

Remove the seat, battery, oil cooler, radiator, rear bodywork, fuel tank and exhaust system header pipe (retaining the six M8 header pipe nuts for later reuse) following the instructions listed in the service manual. nuts removed from the original exhaust system.. Remove the left and right hand rear footrest hangers from the bike and retain them if the motorcycle is to be returned to its original condition.. Disconnect the oxygen sensor connector from the wiring harness and remove the oxygen sensor from the original exhaust system, noting the cable route. Retain for re-use.. Remove and discard the exhaust gaskets from the cylinder head then fit the supplied exhaust gaskets (with the tabs towards the engine). cdyp. Primary header bush. Primary header flange. M8 nut 6. Position the down pipe/collector assembly to the underside of the engine and insert the down pipe ends fully into the primary header bushes. Secure with the springs provided. caoy. Cylinder head. Gaskets 5. Fit the three primary header bushes to the cylinder head and loosely secure in the orientation shown using the primary header flanges supplied in the kit and M8 T0005. Down pipe. Spring. Spring mounting hole position 7. Remove the control plate fixings and locate the new silencer support bracket of 6
into position between the control plate and frame, as shown below. electrical cable, or string may assist fitment of the spring, as shown below. T0006 T0008. Control plate. Silencer support bracket 8. With the silencer support bracket correctly located, refit the control plate fixings and tighten to a torque value of 7 Nm.. Silencer. Downpipe collector assembly. Spring 0. Slide the silencer support clamp over the silencer and position against the bracket as shown. Retain in position with the new M8 x 0 capscrew and washers provided, do not fully tighten at this stage. T0007. Control plate 5. Silencer support bracket. Fixing 9. Position the silencer on to the downpipe collector assembly and secure with the spring provided. A length of unused. Silencer. Silencer support clamp. Silencer mounting bracket T000. capscrew 5. washers. Secure the silencer to the silencer mounting point with the new M8 x 0 of 6
capscrew, washers and nut provided. Do not fully tighten at this stage. Oxygen sensor fitment for models upto & including VIN 865. An extension harness is required for the oxygen sensor for models upto & including VIN 865. 5. Remove the brass adaptor from the exhaust and fit the oxygen sensor directly to the exhaust as shown below. Tighten the sensor to a torque value of 5 Nm. T0009. Silencer. Silencer mounting point. With a soft faced mallet gently tap the downpipes to ensure they are seated correctly in the header bushes.. Tighten the collector pipe front mounting point fixing nuts - 6 to a torque value of 9 Nm, in the sequence shown below. Then tighten nuts - again to a torque value of 9 Nm. T00. Oxygen sensor. Exhaust 6. Connect one end of the extension harness to the oxygen sensor and route the wiring as previously noted. Ensure all wiring is neatly routed and secured to the motorcycle. Check that no cables are trapped between the swinging arm and the crankcase. cdpa. Check the exhaust system is correctly aligned with the rear frame. Tighten the silencer mounting point fixing to a torque value of 7 Nm, and the silencer support clamp fixing to a torque value of 5 Nm. 7. Connect the extension harness to the oxygen sensor connector on the main harness. 5 of 6
Oxygen sensor fitment for models VIN 866 onwards. 8. Fit the oxygen sensor into the brass adaptor in the exhaust, as shown below, and tighten to a torque value of 5 Nm. T00a. Oxygen sensor. Brass adaptor. Exhaust 9. Route the wiring through and around the right hand side rear engine mount and up to the main harness, as previously noted. Reconnect to the main harness. Ensure all wiring is neatly routed and secured to the motorcycle. Check that no cables are trapped between the swinging arm and the crankcase. All models 0. Refit the fuel tank, rear bodywork, radiator, oil cooler, battery and seat as described in the service manual. The correct engine calibration must be downloaded to the motorcycle ECU prior to starting the engine. This information can be found on the Triumph On Line dealer web site.. Connect the Triumph Diagnostic Tool and download the correct engine calibration to the ECU following the procedure listed on the Triumph On Line dealer web site. After this Arrow exhaust accessory kit has been fitted by an authorised Triumph dealer, the performance of the motorcycle will be altered, if you have any doubt about the performance of any aspect of the motorcycle, contact an authorised Triumph dealer and do not ride the motorcycle until the authorised dealer has declared it fit for use. Riding a motorcycle when there is any doubt as to any aspect of the performance of the motorcycle may result in loss of control of the motorcycle leading to an accident. After fitting the accessory kit the motorcycle will exhibit new handling characteristics. Operate the motorcycle in a safe area free from traffic to gain familiarity with any new characteristics. Operation of the motorcycle when not familiar with any new handling characteristics may result in loss of motorcycle control and an accident. Only operate this Triumph motorcycle at high speed in closed-course on road competition or on closed course racetracks. High speed operation should only be attempted by riders who have been instructed in the techniques necessary for high speed riding and are familiar with the motorcycle s characteristics in all conditions.
