Remove the corrugated sound tube from the firewall and set aside, as it will not be reused. C. Remove the spring clip, as it will no longer be used. See (Fig 1-b) D Set the assembly to the side, as it will not be reused. (See Fig 1-c) Fig. 1-a Fig. 1-b Fig. 1-c 1
1. PREPARATION AND REMOVAL, cont d E. Remove the driver's side door sill. Lift up on the door sill to release the double sided tape securing the sill to the body. (See Fig 1-d) F. Remove the electrical connector. (See Fig 1-e) G. Remove the plastic clip securing the inside panel and set the panel to the side to be reinstalled in a later step. (See Fig 1-f) Fig. 1-d Fig. 1-e Fig. 1-f 2
1. PREPARATION AND REMOVAL, cont d H. Remove the plastic clip securing the lower portion of the plastic planel just below the rear seat. (See Fig 1-g) I. Remove the rear seat. Locate the 2 clips that secure the seat. Press the clips toward the rear of the vehicle and lift up on the lower portion of the seat to release the lower cushion. (See Fig 1-h) J. Remove the rear trunk carpeting, exposing the spare tire well. (See Fig 1-i) PLASTIC FASTENER Fig. 1-g PLASTIC RETAINING CLIP Fig. 1-h Fig. 1-i 3
1. PREPARATION AND REMOVAL, cont d K. Remove the four plastic fasteners securing the plastic tail light cover. (See Fig 1-j) L. Lift up on the panel and remove it. It will be reinstalled at a later time. M. Remove the spare tire, if equipped. (See Fig 1-k) REMOVE FASTENERS Fig. 1-j Fig. 1-k 4
2. FUEL PUMP VOLTAGE BOOSTER MOUNTING A. Locate the FPB (Fuel Pump Booster) in the rear portion of the passenger side spare tire well as shown. (See Fig 2-a) B. If the vehicle is equipped with a spare tire, confirm that the spare tire will fit back into its original loc tion after the FPB is installed. C. Using the FPB as a template, mark the four mounting locations. (See Fig 2-b) D. Using a 1/8 drill bit, drill 4 mounting holes andattach the FPB using the provided mounting hardware. 3. FUEL PUMP VOLTAGE BOOSTER WIRING A. Locate the supplied body plug and install it into in the existing hole in the firewall. (See Fig 3-a) B. Loosely route the supplied 10 GA wire around the front of the vehicle to the Power Distribution box. Attach the supplied fuse holder assembly to the end of the 10 GA wire. C. Using the supplied tee and length of rubber vacuum hose, splice the tee into the supercharger bypass valve signal hose (will see boost and vacuum). D. Route the supplied 10 GA wire and 1/8" nylon tubing through the previously installed body plug. Using a sharp blade, slice a small "x" in the center of the plug to allow the wire to pass through. E. From the inside of the vehicle, route the supplied wire and 1/8" vacuum tubing along the floor board. Use the supplied wire loom to cover the wire and vacuum tubing as they are routed to the rear of the car. Secure the wire to the existing wires. (See Fig 3-b) F. Lift up on the plastic carpet cover and route the wire toward the rear of the vehicle. (See Fig 3-c) Fig. 3-a SUPPLIED BODY PLUG Fig. 3-b Route Supplied wire and vaccum hose Fig. 3-c 6
