The more refrigerant an appiance contains, the arger the room must be in which the appiance is situated. Leaking refrigerant can form a fammabe gas-air mixture in rooms which are too sma. The room must be at east 1 m 3 per 8 g of refrigerant. The amount of refrigerant in your appiance is indicated on the rating pate inside the appiance. Important information when using the appiance Never use eectrica appiances inside the appiance (e. g. heater, eectric ice maker, etc.). Exposion hazard! NEVER use a steam ceaner to defrost or cean the appiance! Steam may come into contact with eectrica components and cause a short-circuit or an eectric shock. Do not store products which contain fammabe propeants (e. g. spray cans) or exposive substances in the appiance. Exposion hazard! Do not stand or support yoursef on the base, drawers or doors, etc. Use the motorised compartment carefuy. Warning: Hands can become trapped between the motorised compartment and the appiance casing. For ceaning and exchanging the bub, pu the mains pug out or switch off the fuse. Do not pu out the mains pug by tugging the cabe. Warning: When the appiance is switched off using the temperature setting (Dispay: ), the suppy of current is not disrupted. Bottes which contain a high percentage of acoho must be seaed and stored in an upright position. Keep pastic parts and the door sea free of oi and grease. Otherwise, parts and door sea wi become porous. Never cover or bock the ventiation openings for the appiance. Ony customer service may change the power cord and carry out any other repairs. Improper instaations and repairs may put the user at considerabe risk. 3

Vauabe raw materias can be recaimed by recycing od appiances. m Redundant appiances: Cut off the power cord and discard with the mains pug. Take off the doors. Do not take out the trays and receptaces: chidren are therefore prevented from cimbing in! Do not aow chidren to pay with the appiance once it has spent ist usefu ife. Risk of suffocation! Refrigerators contain refrigerants and the insuation contains gases. Refrigerant and gases must be disposed of propery. Ensure that tubing of the refrigerant circuit is not damaged prior to proper disposa. This appiance has been identified in accordance with the European directive 2002/ 96/EG on Waste Eectrica and Eectronic Equipment WEEE. The directive specifies the framework for an EU-wide vaid return and recycing of od appiances. 4

See section Door aarm (page 9). C super coo button Serves to switch the super cooing function on and off. See section Super cooing (page 9). D Dispay pane The refrigerated drawer temperature is dispayed on the fascia. Activated specia functions are shown by means of symbos, super cooing 4 for exampe. The menus and setting options which are avaiabe are represented on the fascia in the setup mode. See section Setup mode (page 11). E Seection button The temperature setting is activated using the seection buttons. See section Setting the temperature (page 8). For seecting a menu in the setup mode. See section Setup mode (page 11). F Setting buttons +/ In the temperature setting mode, the temperature can be changed using the setting buttons +/. See section Setting the temperature (page 8). For setting the parameters avaiabe in the menu. See section Setup mode, (page 11). G Setup button This button starts and ends the setup mode. If the setup mode is ended using the setup button, the changes which have been made are stored. H Hoiday button For switching the energy saving hoiday mode on and off. See section Hoiday mode, page 12. A sound can be heard every time a button is actuated if this function is activated () in the sound menu during the setup mode. Instaation Instaation ocation Insta the appiance in a dry, we ventiated room. The instaation ocation shoud neither be exposed to direct sunight nor near a heat source, e.g. a cooker, radiator, etc. If instaation next to a heat source is unavoidabe, use a suitabe insuating pate or observe the foowing minimum distances to a heat source: 3 cm to an eectric cooker. 30 cm to an oi or soid-fue cooker. The foor on which the appiance is to be instaed must be rigid. If required, reinforce the foor. To ensure that the ice maker functions correcty, the appiance must be upright. Observe ambient temperature and ventiation The cimatic cass can be found on the rating pate It states the room temperature within which the appiance can be operated. Atmosphere grade Permitted ambient temperature SN +10 C to 32 C N +16 C to 32 C ST +18 C to 38 C T +18 C to 43 C Ventiation Never cover the ventiation openings in the base pane. During transportation the oi in the compressor may have fowed into the refrigeration system. Before switching on the appiance for the first time, cean the interior of the appiance (see Ceaning the appiance, page 14). Eectrica connection Do not use an extension ead or a mutipug socket. The pug to secure the appiance must be freey accessibe. Connect the appiance to a 220 240 V/ 50 Hz ac current via a pug which has been propery instaed. The socket must be fused with a 10 A fuse or higher. For appiances operated in non- European countries, the identification pate shoud be checked whether the eectric suppy and the current mode stated match the vaes of the mains suppy. The rating pate is situated in the bottom eft-hand side of the appiance. Any necessary exchanging of the mains ead shoud carried out by a speciaist eectrician. m Warning Never connect the appiance to eectronic energy saver pugs or to power inverters which convert the direct current to 230 V aternating current (e.g. soar equipment, power suppies on ships). 7

Factory settings Upon eaving the factory, the appiance has been suppied with the foowing settings: Fascia anguage: Engish Temperature unit: C Refrigerator compartment temperature: +4 C Note The factory settings (anguage, temperature unit) can be changed in the setup mode. Switching on the appiance Press the on/off button. The appiance starts to coo down when switched on for the first time. When the door is opened, the interior ight comes on. Note The preset temperatures (factory settings) are reached after approx. 2 8 hours. Do not put any food in the appiance beforehand. To change the set temperatures > see Setting the temperature (page 8). Seecting the temperature The temperature can be set from +2 C to +8 C. We recommend a setting of +4 C. The temperature setting can be changed using the + (warmer) or (cooer) setting buttons. The temperature can be set at 1 C intervas. To set the temperature: Active 23 the setup mode using the < or > buttons. The symbo is dispayed. Set the desired temperature using the + (warmer) or (cooer) setting buttons. Set the anguage When the appiance is operated, a messages are dispayed in fascia in Engish. Aternativey, the dispay anguages can be seected corresponding to the tabe on page page 11. In order to change the dispay anguage: Press setup button. Press the seection button >, unti is dispayed. Press the + or setting button, unti the desired anguage is dispayed. Press the setup button, in order to store the settings. The set temperature is dispayed again in the fascia. 8

Motorised compartment The appiance is equipped with a height adjustabe motorised compartment. Super cooing In the super cooing mode, the refrigerated zone wi be cooed for approx. 6 hours as cod as possibe. Switch the function on: to coo drinks quicky. Before pacing arge quantities of food in the refrigerator compartment. This function is activated by pressing the super cooing button. The symbo appears in the fascia under super temperature. Chier section drawer (Drawer with adjustabe temperature) The temperature in this compartment is kept at amost 0 C. This provides optimum storage conditions for fresh food. When the togge switch is set upwards: The compartment moves upwards When the togge switch is set downwards: The compartment moves downwards Maximum motorised compartment oad: 10 kg The drive cuts out if overoaded in order to avoid damage. Controed ventiation You can use the controabe ventiation to set the air humidity in your fruit and vegetabe container. Super coo function ends: by pressing the super coo button again; by activating the eco function; by activating the hoiday mode; by activating the sabbatica mode. After approx. 6 hours, the appiance switches automaticay back to the temperature set before the Super coo function. Door aarm If an appiance door is eft open, an aarm signa is emitted after one minute and a corresponding aarm message appears in the fascia. Press the appropriate button (fish, meat/poutry, vegetabes) corresponding to the food stored. The seection is dispayed by the corresponding LED being iuminated. The chier section drawer is equipped with a fiter. See in addition Ceaning the chier section drawer (page 17). Side contro to the right: ow air humidity Side contro to the eft: high air humidity. Cose the door. Pressing the aarm button switches the signa off. If the door is not cosed propery again, the aarm signa wi be emitted after one minute once more. 9

Variabe interior design You can vary the sheves inside the appiance and the containers in the door to suit your requirements. Door storage compartment Gass compartments The height of the gass sheves can be adjusted. Drawers To take out, ift the drawers sighty and take out. Lift the compartment front and move it upwards or downwards into the guiding positions. Lower the compartment front to the desired height. The hoders engage into the guiding positions. Removing the compartments: Lift the container and remove. To pace in, ift the front of the drawers sighty and pace into the chest of drawers. Lower the drawer and side it backwards. Pace the containers at the desired heights and press downwards. Lift the compartment front and move it into the guiding positions as far as the openings. Remove the compartment forwards. Pace the compartment into the guiding positions openings and press downwards. Set the compartment to the desired height. 10

Setup mode Individua adjustments There are menus for adapting the appiance to the individua user requirements. These adaptions are carried out in the setup mode. To activate the setup mode: Press setup button. To switch to the next menu: Press the seection button < or >. The next menu is dispayed and its current setting (mosty 0or 1). To make a seection within the setting options of a menu: A changed setting is stored, if the next menu is seected using < or >. To deactivate the setup mode: Press setup button. A of the changed settings are stored. If no button is seected within 20 seconds, the setup mode ends automaticay. A of the changed settings are stored. The set temperature is dispayed again in the fascia. The first menu (temperature unit) is dispayed in the fascia. Menus in the setup mode Press the setting button + or. Temperature unit The temperature can be dispayed in degrees Fahrenheit ( F) or degrees Cesius ( C). Press setup button. The first menu (temperature unit) is dispayed. Energy saving mode If the energy saving function (eco function) is activated, the appiance switches to energy saving operation. This energy saving function is preset at the factory in order to reduce energy consumption. The background iumination of the fascia is ikewise reduced. To switch the energy saving function on: Press setup button. Press the seection button >, unti and the current setting (0) is dispayed. Hoiday mode11 If eaving the appiance for a ong period of time, you can switch the appiance over to the energy saving hoiday mode. Hoiday mode settings: The appiance works in energy saving mode (see Energy saving mode, page 12); The interior iumination is switched off; The Super coo function is ended (if activated). To switch the hoiday mode on:3. Press Hoiday button. Press the + or setting button in order to switch between degrees Fahrenheit ( F) and degrees Cesius ( C). Press the setup button, in order to store the settings. The set temperature is dispayed again in the fascia. Language setting When the appiance is operated, a messages are dispayed in fascia in Engish. Aternativey, the dispay anguages can be seected corresponding to the tabe above. Press setup button. Press the seection button >, unti is dispayed. Press the + or setting button, in order to reset the setting. Press the setup button, in order to store the settings. The word & is dispayed in the fascia. This function is then ended: by switching the eco function off in the setup mode, by activating the "Super coo" function; by changing the target temperature of the appiance, by switching the appiance off using the on/off button. The symbo appears in the fascia under the eco-temperature preset at the factory. To switch the hoiday mode off: Press Hoiday button. The previous settings and temperature vaues are once again activated. Sabbatica mode Sabbatica mode settings: The Super coo function is ended (if activated); the accoustic signa is switched off when the button is actuated (if activated); The interior iumination is switched off; the background iumination of the fascia is switched off. Press the + or setting button, unti the desired anguage is dispayed. Press the setup button, in order to store the settings. The set temperature is dispayed again in the fascia. 12

To switch the sabbatica mode on: Press and hod down the super cooing button. Press Hoiday button. Keep the super cooing button hed down for 3 seconds onger. The symbo fashes on the dispay pane. The background iumination in the fascia is switched off.! is dispayed in the fascia. The sabbatica mode is switched on. To switch the sabbatica mode off: Press Hoiday button. The previous settings and temperature vaues are once again activated. Preserving food Pay attention when arranging food: Aow warm food and drinks to coo down outside the appiance. Wrap or cover food before pacing in the appiance. This way the aroma and freshness is preserved. This is done ikewise to hep avoid the transfer of odours and coours onto pastic parts. Keep pastic parts and the door sea free of oi and grease. Bottes which contain a high percentage of acoho must be seaed and stored in an upright position. When buying food, pease note: The purchase freshness is important for the shef-ife of your food. The foowing principe appies: the fresher the suppies are when paced in the chier section drawer, the onger they can be hed for. When buying food, aways note the degree of freshness. How to save energy Insta the appiance in a coo, we ventiated room, but not in direct sunight and not near a heat source (radiator, cooker, etc.). If required, use an insuating pate. Aow warm food and drinks to coo down before pacing in the appiance! Thaw frozen food by pacing it in the refrigerator. The ow temperature of the frozen food wi then coo the food in the refrigerator compartment. Open the appiance door as briefy as possibe. Operating noises Norma operating noises Humming refrigerating unit is running. The fan in the circuating air system is running. Bubbing, gurging or whirring noises refrigerant is fowing through the tubing. Cicking motor is switching on or off. Switching off and disconnecting the appiance Switching off the appiance Press the on/off button. Disconnecting the appiance If the appiance is not used for a proonged period: Take a food out of the appiance. Pu out the mains pug or switch off the fuse. Cean the appiance interior (see Ceaning the appiance, page 14). To prevent odours, eave the doors open. Ceaning the appiance Press the on/off button and switch the appiance off! Pu out the mains pug or switch off the fuse. Cean the appiance with ukewarm water and a itte washing-up iquid. Water used for ceaning must not drip onto the fascia or ight. Cean the door sea with water ony and then dry thoroughy. Remove dirt on the ventiation and air reease openings using a vacuum ceaner. Cean the surface of the appiance using a damp coth. Afterwards, rub dry. After ceaning: Insert the pug and/or switch the fuse on. Press the on/off button and switch the appiance on! m Warning NEVER use a steam ceaner to cean the appiance! Water used for ceaning must not drip onto the fascia or ight. Do not use abrasive or acidic ceaning agents and sovents. Never cean the sheves or containers in the dishwasher. The parts may warp. Odours If you experience unpeasant odours: Press the on/off button and switch the appiance off! Take a food out of the appiance. Cean the interior. See section Ceaning the appiance, page 14. Cean a packing units ocated in the appiance. Sea strong smeing food in order to avoid odours from forming. Press the on/off button and switch the appiance on! Storing food in the appiance. Check whether the formation of odours is sti occuring after 24 hous. Change the odour fiter. Warning messages via the dispay If severa warning notices appear at once, see to each warning in turn. As ong as a warning is dispayed, no buttons can be pressed. Door aarm Cause One door of the appiance has not been cosed correcty or has been open too ong. Remedia action Press the aarm button. Cose the door. The dispay goes out. Sensor faiure Cause A technica defect on the appiance is possibe. Remedia action Conduct a sef-test on the appiance. Low votage Cause The mains votage fas beow the permitted imiting vaue. Remedia action No button actuations are possibe. When the mains votage reaches the stipuated vaue again, the warning message goes out. If the warning message asts for onger, inform the energy suppy company. 14

Appiance sef-test Before you ca customer service, conduct a sef-test on the appiance. Switch off the appiance and wait 5 minutes. Keep the door cosed during this time. Switching on the appiance. At the same time, press the setup button and the aarm button for 5 seconds. The sef-test programme starts. Various messages appear in the facia one after the other. If an error is estabished during the appiance sef-test, the/ symbo appears in the fascia and an error message (e. g. =sensor error) is dispayed. Inform the customer service of these error messages. If no error is estabished during the appiance sef-test, the preset temperature appears in the fascia after the test has ended. Eiminating minor fauts yoursef Before you ca customer service: Pease check whether you can eiminate the faut yoursef based on the foowing information. Customer service wi charge you for advice even if the appiance is sti under guarantee! Faut Possibe cause: Remedia action Appiance has no refrigerating capacity. Interior ight does not function. The dispay does not iuminate. The refrigerating unit is switching on more frequenty and for onger. Power faiure; the fuse has been switched off; the mains pug has not been inserted propery. Appiance door opened frequenty. Large amounts of fresh food have been put away. The ventiation openings have been covered. Check whether the power is on. The appiance must be switched on. Check whether the mains pug is secure. Do not open the door unnecessariy. Activate the Super coo function. Remove obstructions and dirt. The temperature in the refrigerator compartment is too cod. Temperature has been set too ow. Seect a warmer temperature (see page 8 Setting the temperature ) Interior ight does not function. You experience unpeasant odours. The bub is defective. Light switch is sticking. Strongy smeing food is not seaed. Repace bub (see page 16 Changing ight bubs ). Check whether it can be moved. Ceaning the appiance. Haogen ight in the chier section drawer Haogen amp type: 12 V/5 W/bubhoder G4 Free the cover and remove. Remove the defective haogen bub. Insert the new haogen bub. Aways use a soft coth when inserting a haogen bub. Free the cover and remove it from the hoder. Remove the defective haogen bub. Insert the new haogen bub. Aways use a soft coth when inserting a haogen bub. Repace the cover and press it unti it engages. Insert the new haogen bub. Aways use a soft coth when inserting a haogen bub. Ceaning the chier section drawer fiter Cean the fiter on the chier section drawer as foows: Remove the chier section drawer. Exchange the odour fiter Spare fiters are avaiabe from your deaer. Opening the fiter hoder. Customer service Check whether you can remedy the faut yoursef on the basis of information provided in the Eiminating minor fauts yoursef section (page 15). Your oca customer service can be found in the teephone directory or in the customerservice index. Pease provide customer service with the appiance product number (E-Nr.) and production number (FD). To prevent unnecessary ca-outs, pease assist customer service by quoting the product and production numbers. This wi save you additiona costs. Remove the od odour fiter. Repace with a new odour fiter. This information can be found on the product abe. Press the fiter-hoder front downwards (1) with both hands. Ony open the fiter-hoder for ceaning! Remove the fiter-cover (2). Cean the fiter with cear water and eave it to dry. Re-insert the fiter. Repace the fiter cover (3). Press on the fiter cover unti it engages.
