Ask any board member for AMA and club membership applications. All AMA, FAA and Field Rules must be followed which are posted at the flying site at all MEETINGS Meetings are scheduled on the first Monday of the month except for June, July, and August. The location is First Parish Church in Berlin MA On route 62 Between Carter St. and Woodland Ave. May aircraft was thebf 108 Name This Aircraft The Messerschmitt Bf 108 is a German single engine four place sport and touring aircraft developed by Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (Bavarian Aircraft Works) in 1934. The Bf 108 is of all metal construction. It was designed by Willy Messerschmitt who consequently used the experience to later design the Bf 109 WWII fighter (known in the US as the Me 109). The first engine was an inverted V of 247 hp and a three blade propeller. Later engines were often smaller and of different type and a two plade prop. A total of 885 were built being used primerrily as personnel transport by the Luftwaffe. Flying characteristics were quite good and easy to land as the wings had leading edge slats and full length flaps. Fuel consumption rate was extreamy low. Production was transferred to occupied France during World War II and production continued after the war as the Nord 1000. RC News June 2016 e 2 of 12

CMRCM Annual Summer Picnic date set to be Saturday August 13th with a rain date of the 14th. c. CMRCM Annual Fall Stew Fest date set to be Saturday October 15th rain date 16th. d. Don Weaver Memorial Scale Fly at Crow Island in Stow, MA set to be Sunday, October 9th. e. Other Club Events for Prop Busters and South Shore RC, See Fliers on pages 8 11. 2. Treasurer s report: Read and accepted, See report below. 3. Field Director s report: a. The field, parking lot and road are in very good shape. 4. Old Business: a. SAFETY REMINDERS: 1. We need to remain diligent about not flying over the road. Any accident would most likely result in us losing our lease. If you see someone flying over the road, please bring it to their attention. It's possible they don't even realize it. 2. Remember to call your intentions at the flight line wether your ready to enter the field, exit the field, etc... 3. Please inspect and cycle your battery packs, espically if you have not been flying for a while. 4. A reminder that all aircraft should be restrained when arming it. There is to be NO arming of aircraft in the parking lot so please restrain and arm any aircraft in the pit area. We have had a few near accidents happen recently and that is just not acceptable. b. Four safety Tables were built and deliverd to the field, Thank you Randy, Michelle and anyone else who helped Randy complete this. They look great. c. Non Members: There have been a few sigtings of non members (possibly uninsured) coming to the field to fly. If you see someone you don't recognize attempting to fly, please feel free to ask them to show their member ID, FAA or AMA card. Remember, even AMA members and FAA registered people need to be a member of CMRCM or an invited guest of a member to fly at the field. They also do need to demonstrate safe flight opperation to a club officer. d. Issues or concerned about your Battery Packs health, check out Batteries Plus, located at 197 N Boston Post Rd W Marlborough, MA 508.485.9200 (http://www.batteriesplus.com/). 5. New Business: a. Dave has agreed to cordinate and monitor the rotary aircraft opperations at CMRCM. The club wants to create a section away from the general flight pattern for helicopters and quads to opperate while pilots are in training. Talk to Randy for additional details. b. CMRCM was interviewed by Metrowest News, see page 6 & 7 for news articles. c. Jan Lewis, Host of "Be My Guest!", a television interview program that airs locally, online and on Youtube has contacted Ray Helin after seeing the article from the Metrowest Daily news and has asked him to be a guest to represent CMRCM in an article they are covering on local Model RC Clubs. PHOTOS: Flying for fun in Westborough Men and their very small flying machines have a place to practice their craft on Lyman Street in Westborough at the Northborough line. The Central Massachusetts Radio Control Modelers call it an airfield but it's just for radio controlled model airplanes and helicopters. Fliers must be both members of the club and the Academy of Model Aeronautics and register the planes with the FAA. The next fun fly is July 10. FOR SALE: Toledo Special. It s a Toledo Special in excellent condition. It has an OS FS 56a four cycle engine. It has a seven channel Spectrum receiver and a gyro in it, and a Spectrum 6 volt battery. I ll also include following spare parts: landing gear bracket, two pairs of wheel pants, two extra spinners, and extra covering material in two colors. Also, I m selling a Spectrum DX 7 Transmitter. I can t find the charger, but you can buy it for about 10 dollars on ebay. Everything is in very good to excellent condition. The airplane has about $700 in it (not including the spare parts).
