EXPERIENCE Three-E offers Sepor proprietary Tank Cleaning services in Libya over thirty years of experience in tank cleaning make Sepor company capable to undertake the most difficult tasks in tank and vessel cleaning
OUR MISSION Provide our Clients with the highest Engineering and Environmental quality solutions and services balancing the operational and financial objectives of the client with applicable regulatory requirement and with the highest standard of safety
HIGHEST ENGINEERING STANDARD The Company Management, on the basis of 30 years of know-how and experience, in tankcleaning is always looking forward at the newest solutions on the market in order to improve our tankcleaning performance and our safety standard
HIGHEST ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARD our policy is directed to combine both economical and ecological objectives in order to carry out our activities in compliance with the surrounding environment.
HIGHEST SAFETY STANDARD The safety policy and operating practices, are developed to guarantee that the activities are carried out preserving the safety of its personnel, of third parties involved in its activities, of customers and the public
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM The Company designed, developed and implemented a Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Environmental (S.I.A.) Management System, qualified OIMS by ESSO/SARPOM S.p.A., by ENI, by TAMOIL, and by the main oil companies, that pay high attention to prevention.
TANK CLEANING SYSTEM BENEFITS The main advantages of Jetsweeper tankcleaning system are four
HIGH OIL RECOVERY - 1 - RECOVERY OF HIGH QUANTITIES OF OIL WHICH OTHERWISE WOULD BE WASTED (up to 90% of the hydrocarbons incorporated in the sludge) ADVANTAGES
WASTE VOLUME REDUCTION - 2 - REDUCTION OF VOLUME OF SLUDGE FOR DISPOSAL which means relevant costs reduction for the Refinery
INCREASED SAFETY - 3 - SAFETY No man entry required
DOWNTIME REDUCTION - 4 - SPEED OF OPERATION Reducing down time for the tank
SAFE WORK PROCEDURE OPERATING SEQUENCE
PREPARATORY WORKS PRELIMINARY INSPECTION PRIOR TO OPERATIONS COMMENCE
SLUDGE MAPPING Mapping, surveying and characterization of sludge, allow to preliminary decide the correct tank cleaning strategy to carry out.
FIELD ASSESSMENT The THERMOGRAPHIC INSPECTION The THERMOGRAPHIC INSPECTION determines the amount of sludge inside the tank and to map it
THERMOGRAPHIC INSPECTION
SLUDGE QUANTIFICATION Once enough infrared pictures around the tank are collected, a specific software integrates the resuts and calculates the average tank's sludge height and therefore, the total amount of sludge inside the tank
SLUDGE CHARACTERIZATION DETERMINATION OF OIL, WATER & SOLIDS CONTENT carried out taking and analizing samples of the sludge from various points on the roof
EVALUATIONS OF RECOVERABLE OIL Having obtained the total amount of sludge and the average percentage of hydrocarbons content, it is possible to estimate the amount of recoverable hydrocarbons with tankcleaning process The system is able to recover up to 90% of the hydrocarbons present in the sludge
EXAMPLE Total amount of sludge: 5.000 metric tons % of hydrocarbons in the sludge: 60% (= 3.000 tons) The process is able to recover between 80% (2.400 tons) and 90% (2.700 tons) of the hydrocarbons incorporated in the sludge
EXAMPLE Considering the price of the crude oil on the market, with tankcleaning the Refinery is going to return: (assuming 1 ton = 1.000 lt = 7 barrels) 2.400 tons x 7 = 16.800 barrels Or 2.700 tons x 7 = 18.900 barrels
RETURN ON INVESTMENT Assuming that an average of 17.850 bl of oil were recovered and being the market price of US$ 78 per barrel the Refinery will get 17.850 bl x US$ 78 per bl = US$ 1.392.300 This means that, the Refinery has 0 tankcleaning costs and a large return on money
PROCESS HIGHLIGHTS PRELIMINARY INSPECTION The preliminary a inspection with the thermocam and sludge analysis are very important processes in order to make a reliable estimation of the amount of sludge to be recovered
TANKCLEANING PROCESS
TANK CLEANING EQUIPMENT The core of the equipment is composed by: 2 or 3 ATEX TANKSWEEPS (depending on the tank size)
TANK CLEANING PUMPS 2 or 3 Diesel driven pumps (depending on 2 or 3 Diesel driven pumps (depending on the tank size) that comply with ATEX for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
TANK CANNON INSTALLATION STEP 1 Weld of 18 flange to the manway lid or to the shell STEP 2 Bolt on 18 valve to flange
TANK CANNON INSTALLATION Fit Hottaping machine to 18 Valve
TANK CANNON INSTALLATION Once the Hottapping has been done cannons and insertion chambers are fitted to valves and all suction and pressure hoses connected
SLUDGE FLUIDIZATION & SUSPENSION Start up of pumps which remove the oil from the tank and recycle it back in again, creating a vortex which holds the sludge in suspension.
OIL - WATER - SOLIDS SEPARATION The system does not require the tank to be inertised with nitrogen The sludge is fluidized with the help of an organic-based biosurfactant (made by our laboratory depending on the sludge's sample) which enable separation of heavy hydrocarbons and inorganic sediments from the oil.
OPERATIONAL TIMING The fluidization process is a 24 hours/day operation that lasts between 3 and 5 days
CONTROL OF FLUIDIZATION PROCESS During all the tankcleaning time, infrared pictures are periodically taken in order to view the advances of the fluidization process After 3 hours After 30 hours After 48 hours
OIL RECOVERED AFTER SEPARATION Once the thermocam pics indicates that the sludge is completely fluidized, water is introduced into the tank to enable separation: the sediments, free of hydrocarbons, precipitate to the bottom of the tank, while the oil to be extracted forms a layer on the top of water phase.
PHASES SEPARATION IN THE TANK
TANK CLEANING'S FINAL STAGES Now the floating oil can be transferred to a storage facility provided by the client.
WATER REMOVAL Once the oil has been completely pumped out, the water is therefore removed from the tank
SOLIDS REMOVAL After adequate ventilation and safety controls to ensure the tank is gas free, the remaining liquids are pumped out and the oil-free sediments are removed for disposal...
EQUIPMENT USED FOR SOLIDS REMOVAL...by an oleodynamic pump with hopper and feeder screw coupled to a worm motor reduction unit.
BULLDOZER USED FOR SOLIDS REMOVAL...or by Sepor Oleodynamic Bulldozer
