Supplied with your new frame are the following components: #1) One roll pin to secure the rubber rear grip insert to the frame, #2) a new style takedown bar spring, and #3) a Buffer Technologies polymer buffer that will mount in the guide ring of your slide. We recommend these buffers as they keep the slide s guide ring from impacting the frame at the rear of its cycle travel. Operating your new alloy frame without a polymer buffer will result in damage to your frame and/or your slide. If your recoil spring has weakened from use, the buffer will impact too severely & require more frequent replacement. Your frame s lock block is PERMANENTLY BONDED IN, with it s own cross pins. Please DO NOT attempt to remove the lock block nor try to use the original cross pins from your Glock as damage to your frame will occur. Page 1
Item #2, the Takedown bar spring (resembles a cotter pin), is to be used in place of the spring from your Glock frame. It installs with the flat side down & the curved end toward the muzzle end of the frame (see Fig. 2). The Buffer Technology polymer buffer, Item #3 & pictured on the bottom left in Fig. 2, installs into the rear side of the slide s guide ring, as pictured in Fig. 3. Page 2
One difference you ll notice when assembling your slide to the frame, the takedown bar has to be held down for the barrel to clear it. Before choosing to run aftermarket components, assemble & run your frame with original Glock components for the first 500 1000 rounds to confirm your new frame with stock components. We strongly recommend the components from your Glock frame be installed into your new CCF RaceFrame by a qualified & competent gunsmith. Regardless, CCF RaceFrames LLC cannot accept responsibility for the installation of operating components into your new frame. Carefully confirm your gunsmith s qualifications & competency. Using out of tolerance components or improperly installed components can result in damage to your frame, and possible injury to yourself and / or others. Page 3
Aftermarket components WILL YOUR NEW RACEFRAME WORK WITH AFTERMARKET COMPONENTS? While we do not support the use of any non-glock or aftermarket components, admittedly, there is a large aftermarket selection of quality components available that will tempt you. We have studied the quality control & tolerances of the Glock pistols and have built this frame to improve those standards. One example of a potential problem with aftermarket components lies in the area of the CCF RaceFrame s lock block vs the Glock original lock block. The bridge on the CCF RaceFrame lock block is slightly taller than the original Glock block, to help the barrel lock up tighter which gives the firearm tighter groups. A number of aftermarket barrel makers cut their lugs slightly oversized to achieve the same tighter lockup as our raised lock block bridge. However, combining that slightly oversized lug, with our lock block, without proper fitting and clearance confirmation, can easily cause your barrel to shear a lug or damage the lock block in your frame! That aftermarket barrel, just because it functioned in your Glock frame, does not necessarily mean it will function in your CCF RaceFrame. It can easily appear to clear the lock block in our frame, but still damage your new frame over a period of time or a number of shots. We recommend you contact the manufacturer of those aftermarket components for confirmation of use, applicability and support. If uncertain, DO NOT INSTALL NOR USE ANY AFTERMARKET COMPONENT IN YOUR FRAME WITHOUT HAVING SOMEONE QUALIFIED TO CONFIRM ITS USE! Aftermarket Guide Rods - DO NOT USE ANY STEEL OR METAL GUIDE ROD in your new CCF Raceframe. Damage to your frame over the takedown spring channel will occur causing that channel to close slightly, limiting the takedown spring s upward travel. A metal guide rod is helpful in a light polymer frame as muzzle weight for some additional control, however it is not needed with the weight balance change already provided by your new alloy frame. All safety & functionality inspections MUST be performed by a competent & qualified gunsmith, as would be the case anytime you are re-assembling a pistol frame.
