President s Message This month s highlight was Car Craft at the State Fairgrounds. I would like to thank all Club Members who participated in the goody bag stuffing and also those who made it out to the show it was great to see all the Pontiacs there. The weather was perfect for a weekend in July. We will end the month with the Pontiac Happening at the AutoMotorPlex in Chanhassen, and the Muscle Car Classic which will feature a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the GTO, exciting shows for Pontiac fans. Summer is moving along quite quickly and I hope that you are all getting a chance to go cruising in those awesome cars you put so much time and effort into. Remember to also take the time to enjoy the fruits of your labors, and do something nostalgic like taking the kids (or wife) out for an ice cream. On that note, I hope to see you all at the Peppermint Twist in Delano for next month s meeting! Tony Miller, Tomahawk Chief WANTED Feature stories for the Tomatalk newsletter Contact Paul Bergstrom pontiacpaulb@gmail.com Page 2

July Meeting Minutes The meeting was called to order at 7:00 with 13 members present and 1 guest. Last month s minutes were read and accepted. A treasurer s report was given and it was accepted. Old Business - GMCCA Terry said we would have a finance report soon. There was discussion about reducing the number of goody bags and having the clubs distribute the dash plaque to their attendees. The GMC motorhomes were really cool to look at. Thanks to all that helped out or worked the show! New Business - Car Craft Summer Nationals - we plan to set up the tent on Thursday at 4:00 and we did stuff some info bags to hand out at the show. We discussed hosting a POCI convention in Brainerd. Possibly having the host hotel at Craguns and the Drag Day at BIR. More information to follow. 2014 Ames Pontiac Nationals Jim Notch at Norwalk with the Boss Bird On the way back from Norwalk, We stopped in at Pontiac, IL and visited the Pontiac Oakland Museum and Resource Center. It was Dewey and Jim s first visit. August meeting will be at the Peppermint Twist Drive In in Delano. Steve Mudbird Weese Tomahawk Chapter Secretary Dewey Miller felt right at home in Pontiac! Meanwhile... Back at the Pontiac Ranch Well, summer is going by fast now that August is here. There have been may great car shows, including the Pontiac Happening and Car Craft. I was able to attend the Ames Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio also. This was the first time I attended this event. It was great time - a HUGE swap meet, drag races and a car show. Thanks to Jim Notch and Dewey Miller for helping me represent POCI and sell new memberships. It was great success for POCI, we had over 170 new memberships/renewals.the free t-shirt offer works very well! Thanks to Rollie Pederson also for the invite/ and hotel arrangements.. Keep those Ponchos rollin! Pontiac Happening IV Thanks to the Land of Lakes GTO Club for putting on a great show and to the AutoMotorPlex for allowing us to continue holding the annual Pontiac Happening at their venue! The weather was good and 120+ Pontiacs showed up. The featured Pontiac was the GTO Judge and we had quite an impressive lineup! Awards were give for the Judges (Paul Kilker s 69 Ram Air IV took 1st) and also Popular Vote for all Pontiacs (winner was the 57 Pontiac shown above). We also got to see one of the custom vehicles made for the Green Hornet movie (photo above). Page 7
