1 NUTS & BOLTS Volume 2, Issue 10 October 2016 Welcome back returning club members! Inside this issue: New venue for breakfast on Thursdays Woman s luncheon canceled new date TBD November 5 th Car Show and our valued sponsors These are a few of my favorite links (next month) When cut-a-ways roamed the earth Resurgence of Wednesday McDonald s cruise-in. See below. And inside. Rising out of the ashes of Summer, the McDonalds Wednesday Cruise-In is alive and well. Strongest showing at McDonalds since the summer heat sent everyone packing. Dust your car off and join us every Wednesday at 5PM at 99 th and Bell. As usual there is the lure of infinitely refilled free soft drinks and soft serve cones but the greatest perk is spending quality time talking cars with our great car guys. New friends and potential new club members can happen each week. Most important, there are always cars that are new (to me) to admire and dream of extra garage space. Somewhere later in the issue, are many photos from last week s event. Your car could be a star!
2 VVSC Board Members President: Tom LaVack Vice Pres: John Lassell Vice Pres: Bill Senter Treasurer: Warren Clucker Secretary Les Litzenberger Secretary: Troy Janicki Event Chairman: Anthony Britnell Members at Large: Denny Lockmon Gary Davis Past President: Jon Braemer Newsletter Editor: Tom Locascio Submissions: locascio2000@hotmail.com Changes to upcoming Events and Happenings Thursday Breakfast: It s great to see familiar faces returning to the Thursday breakfast. We have had a consistent 10 to 25 humans attending, some of whom were non-human before their coffee. The venue will be changing to Bobbie s Café located at North 99 th Ave. just North of 103 rd Ave. starting 8:00am next Thursday the 6 th of October. The Ladies Luncheon: this event was scheduled for October 26 th at noon at the Palmbrook country Club. It is now canceled and the new date, time, and venue, is TBD. The Wednesday McDonald s Cruise-in: This event is now alive and well and happening each Wednesday at 5pm (get there early for a good shaded spot.) It takes place at 99 th and Bell. See front page info and current photos later in this issue. VVSC s really big show, Last Call for Fall: This event is extremely important to our club and takes place on November 5 th. The venue is the Sun Bowl which has about a 200 car capacity. Check- in at 8am There is a volunteer signup sheet appearing at the breakfast meetings. Otherwise call Anthony Britnell at to offer your help. If you haven t already signed up to have your car(s) in the show, please do so ASAP. A great deal of work has gone into securing sponsors for this event and we need to assure the site is filled with our cars. Get all the info on our Web page and take the time to thank Anthony and Troy for the enormous effort they have put forth.
3 When I was a kid in Brooklyn, I loved finding a book in the local library with cut-away pictures. It could be a ship or a locomotive, as long as it had semi-transparent pages that once turned revealed more and more of the specific hardware s innards. On the next few pages are some of my favorites. I had to resort to this due to NO submissions to the newsletter this month. Sorry about all the Porsches. Ferrari Modena 360 Spider.

If I owned this Eldo I would nap in it frequently and consider mounting a retractable 75 inch flat screen on the bonnet. So inviting.
