Grandinetti, Captain DATE: 4/15/2010 RE: Approval to enter into an agreement with Peterson s Harley Davidson, Miamifor the lease of four (4) police motorcycles and equipment, in the amount of one thousand, nine hundred dollars ($1900.00) per month for twenty four (24) months. RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a 24 month agreement with Peterson s Harley-Davidson, Miami, to provide lease services to the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department for Police Motorcycles and equipment. REASONS: The Sunny Isles Beach Police Department will piggyback the 2008 Lease Agreement between the City of Doral Police Department and Peterson s Harley-Davidson of Miami. Peterson s Harley-Davidson of Miami currently provides services to several police departments in Miami-Dade County to include; Bal Harbour, Bay Harbor, Coral Gables, Doral, North Miami Beach, South Miami and the University of Miami Police Departments. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Peterson s Harley-Davidson, Miami s lease proposal includes; all police equipment (Lights, Siren and Storage Box) all tires and maintenance for $475.00 per month, per motorcycle. Peterson s Harley-Davidson, Miamiwill also provide loaner police motorcycles during repair and maintenance. Attachment number 1 Page 1 of 2 RESOLUTION NO. 2010- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, APPROVING A MOTORCYCLE LEASE AGREEMENT WITH PETERSON S HARLEY-DAVIDSON OF MIAMI, L.L.C., FOR LEASE OF FOUR (4) MOTORCYCLES, IN AN AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,900.00) PER MONTH, FOR A TWENTY-FOUR (24) MONTH PERIOD, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT A ; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID LEASE AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach desires to enter into an agreement with Peterson s Harley-Davidson of Miami, L.L.C., to meet the motorcycle needs of the Police Department in the performance of police-related or law enforcement duties; and WHEREAS, Peterson s Harley-Davidson currently provides lease services to several Police agencies throughout Miami-Dade County and Broward County; and WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department will piggyback the 2008 Lease Agreement between the City of Doral Police Department and Peterson s Harley-Davidson of Miami; and WHEREAS, Peterson s Harley-Davidson has provided a plan for lease of four (4) motorcycles in an amount of Four Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars ($475) for each, for a total of One Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($1,900.00) per month, attached hereto as Exhibit A, for a period of twenty-four (24) months. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves the Motorcycle Lease Agreement with Peterson s Harley-Davison of Miami, L.L.C., in an amount of One Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($1,900.00) per month for a 24-month period, attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 2. Agreement. Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Lease Section 3. Authorization of City Manager.
