Powerful Two-Stage Filtratio The first stage of this powerful air cleaer cosists of hudreds of Doacloe pre-cleaer tubes (over 1 tubes i the SSG ad over tubes i the SSG 29 models). Each tube spis the icomig air to create a cetrifugal force that separates up to 97% of the dust ad dirt i the airstream (see image o right). Doacloe tubes have o movig parts so there is othig to break dow or maitai. They fuctio properly wheever the egie is ruig. The pre-cleaed dust is automatically ejected from the dust cup with a Vacuator Valve located below i the lower housig body, below the Doacloe tubes. The secod stage of filtratio is the primary filter. A safety filter, which fits iside the primary filter, is stadard o all models for protectio durig primary filter chageout. SSG Doacloe Service Istructios 1 Measure Restrictio Measure the restrictio of the air cleaer with a Doaldso filter service idicator, service gauge, or a water maometer via the restrictio tap provided o the air cleaer or the trasfer pipe. Replace the filter oly whe the restrictio level has reached the maximum recommeded by the egie or equipmet maufacturer. 2 Check Vacuator Valve O dust cups with Vacuator Valve, dust cup service is miimal; just check the Vacuator Valve to see that it is ot iverted, damaged or plugged. If it is damaged, replace it immediately. Ispect the New Filter before Istallig Ispect the ew filter carefully, payig attetio to the iside of the ope ed, which is the sealig area. NEVER istall a damaged filter. A ew Doaldso radial seal filter may have a dry lubricat o the seal to aide istallatio. 6 Isert New Radial Seal Filter Properly If you are servicig the safety filter, this should be seated ito positio before istallig the primary filter. Isert the ew filter carefully by had, makig certai it is completely seated ito the air cleaer housig before securig the cover i place. 3 Check Tubes for Pluggig Whe the dust cup is removed, check the tubes. Geerally, Doacloe tubes are self-cleaig ad eed o service. Uder rare circumstaces, however, pluggig ca occur. Visual ispectio is adequate. If the tubes carry light dust, remove it with a stiff brush. Cleaig Note: Never clea Doacloe tubes with compressed air uless both the primary ad safety filters are istalled i the air cleaer. Do ot steam-clea Doacloe tubes. 4 Chage the Filter Whe restrictio idicates that filter service is required, ufaste or ulatch the service cover. Because the filter fits tightly over the outlet tube to create the critical seal, there will be some iitial resistace, similar to breakig the seal o a jar. Grasp the filter service hadle ad pull the filter out, getly movig the filter back ad forth to break the seal. Avoid kockig the filter agaist the housig durig removal. If the ew filter is ot to be istalled immediately, be sure to cover the seal tube with a cloth or the housig cover so that dirt is ot igested. The critical sealig area will compress slightly, adjust itself ad distribute the sealig pressure evely. To complete a tight seal, apply pressure by had at the outer rim of the filter, ot the flexible ceter. (Avoid pushig o the ceter of the ed cap.) No cover pressure is required to hold the seal. NEVER use the service cover to push the filter ito place! Usig the cover to push the filter i could cause damage to the housig or cover fasteers ad will void the warraty. If the service cover cotacts the filter before it is fully i place, remove the cover ad push the filter (by had) further ito the air cleaer ad try agai. The cover should go o with o extra force. Oce the filter is i place, secure the service cover. Cautio NEVER use the service cover to push the filter ito place!
