Central Oklahoma Corvair Association August Meeting August 11th, AugustMeeting at 7:00 PM Swadley's Bar-B-Q, 4000 N Rockwell Ave, Bethany, OK 73008 Eat @ 6:00 pm Meeting to start at 7:00 pm APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM PREVIOUS MEET- ING TREASURER S REPORT OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS UPCOMMING EVENTS DOOR PRIZES Rush Springs Watermellon Festival Aug 13th in Rush Springs WEB: http://cokcca.org/ August, Hello Everyone, The CORSA International Convention is over and history now. What a great time it was. Eight of us drove to Springfield Illinois to enjoy the many activities. Some of us had the chance to drive on the Mother Road (Hwy66). For me, just to get on the road that other car enthusiast have driven was a good time. Loren, Colleen, and Richard competed and brought home the hardware, trophies that is. We heard there were over 150 Corvairs and most of them were in various stages of restorations. Some had patina and others were show room quality and above. There was one Lakewood beach wagon with its own surf board mounted on top but it was nothing compared to our Lakewoo. Then there was one Ultra-Van that came. Sam and Stacy, I like yours better. Lots of people looking at that. All-in-all, what a great time enjoying our history and our future as we continue to keep our Corvairs alive. As I m writing you, we are already nearing another month. We are moving through this year just like it was yesterday. There are so many things going on in our club. It is exciting to see the activities. Tonight, the engine building workshop, wow it has been fun actually building our own motor. I ve already learned some machine work steps that can be done to increase the efficiency and longevity of a Corvair Motor. Last night our board of directors meeting. I am very proud of them. We are taking care of the business of our club. Then we are working on the Roundup for next year. So here is the open invitation, come out and check it out. Everyone is welcome. Lastly, August 13 is our day cruise to Rush Spring for the Watermelon Festival. Be There or Be Square. Don t forget, we are meeting at 9:00am in the Braum s parking lot located at 3232 Tri City Dr., Newcastle, Ok just west of I-44 and just before you get on the turnpike. I hope you have a great month. Hope to see you at our next meeting. So for now, find some curvy roads and keep it between the lines. Drive safe, be safe!
