The May production figures for all p.trol.um liquids for the two years are an follows: May 1965 May 1964 millions of barrels millions of barrels barrels per day barrels per day Crude petroleum and condensate.... Pentanes plus... Propanes and butane.... Total.... 22.4 722,581 22.9 738,710 2.1 67,742 2.0 64,516 1.3 41,935 1.0 32,258 25.8 832.258 25.9 835,484 The disposition of the May 1965 production was 16.2 million barrels (66.1 per cent) to Canadian refineries, 8.4 million barrel. (34.3 per cent) was exported. The difference of 0.4 per cent between supply and sales is accounted for by line losses and adjustments. Imported crude petroleum for this same period amounted to 12.9 million barrels (416,129 barrels/ day) bringing domestic rsquirements for crude petroleum and equivalent hydrocarbon production to 37.4 million barrels (1,206,. 452 barrels/dsy). production Natural gas production increased 12.9 per cent to 114,884,732 Mcf. from 101,756,884 )tcf. in May 1964. Of the total of 114.9 million Mcf., 26.1 million was net delivsries to storage and injection operations, 19.4 million was used, lut or unaccounted for in fields and processing plants, 31.1 million was exported, 18.4 million was sold to ultimate cuetomera in the prairies, 14.4 million in Ontario, 3.6 million in British Columbia and 1.9 million in Quebec. Table 1 includes all crude oil and equivalent hydrocarbon production of condensates and pentanes plus. Pentanes plus represent the production of crude oil equivalent at processing plants while crude oil production is production in the fields. Table 2 upply and Dispoeition of Crude Oil and Equivalent. Disposition is given to the first stage of marketing, eith.r directly as deliveries to refineries or export. The companion publication 'Refined Petroleum Products" gives the disposition of crude oil recsived by the refinery including the sales of various refined petroleum products. Inventories held by purchasers and refiners in field and pipeline are included in Table 2, while inventories held by refiners in a refinery complex are excluded. Details on the movement of crude oil by pipeline are given in another companion report "Oil Pipeline Transport", Catalogue number 55001. All volumes of crude oil are given in barrels of 35 Canadian gallons at 60F. Details of production are published by the individual provinces. In Table 3, disposition I. given to the ultimate delivery by the gas utilities. Deliveries of natural gas to storage are considered as terminated, and therefore receipts from storage originate in the province where the storage is located. Field flared and waste gsa are not considered as net new production; however, processing plant flared and waste gas are included and constitute a disposition end use. Marketable gas is taken to include all natural gas purchased directly from fields or processing plants which meets the specifications required for domestic, commercial or industrial fuel use. A companion publication, "Gas Utilities", Catalogue number 55002 provides additional details on the movement and sales of natural gas, while a second companion report "ales of Manufactured and Naturel Gas", Catalogue number 45005 provides details on the sales and revenues by rate categories. All volumes of natural gas in this report are given in thousand cubic feet measured at 14.73 p.a.i.s. at 60 5 F. Industry Division eptember 1965 6511515 R0GZR DUHAMtL, r.a.s.c..
