1. Electrification Development SZBG Electric Buses Demo Operation Proper Expansion Comprehensive Implementation 7000 6000 6053 5000 Demo Operation (2011-2012): 101 electric buses introduced at the World Universiade Games in 2011 for the first time; Expansion (2013-2015): 510 pure electric buses introduced in 2015. Only 418 units deployed between 2011-2015 Comprehensive Implementation(2016-2017): National policy to promote electrification between 2015-2017. SZBG currently has 6,053 electric buses. 4000 3000 2000 1000 0 2285 519 519 316 101 101 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 Electric BUS

2. Experience Topics of electrification 1. Strong Support from the Government 2. Formularising Technologies Shenzhen Municipal Government issued directive in 2015, that full electrification of vehicles in the public transportation industry to be realised by the end of 2018. Enacting purchasing subsidy policy to encourage public transport enterprises to purchase electric buses. Subsidising large scale charging device investors according to consumption of the electricity. Imposing licensing restriction for new vehicles running traditional fuel and granting of more new licenses for electric vehicles. Insistence on DC charging: faster and safer as compared to AC charging Division of professional responsibilities: vehicle manufacturers are responsible for vehicle manufacturing and warranty; public transportation enterprises are responsible for operation; and charging service providers are responsible for charging. In summary, various parties assume their respective professional responsibilities making the industry highly efficient. Select the appropriate vehicle models: selecting 10.5m buses as the main model to balance cost, driving range, and carrying capacity. Standardised management: strengthening the standardisation of electric bus construction, instituting operation specifications, system and procedures, and provide training for all operational staff.

3. Innovative Charging Method 2. Experience Topics of electrification

4. Standardised Operation Management 2. Experience Topics of electrification Standardisation in the construction of depots and facilities Intelligent scheduling for improvement in operating efficiency Management Improvements Improvement and optimisation of vehicle technologies Standardised training - comprehensive coverage As a result of management improvements, SZBG s electric bus operating service ratio has increased from the original 60% to above 93% as compared with conventional diesel buses. Electric vehicle s daily average driving mileage is 190km, and each vehicle s annual operating mileage exceeds 65,000 kilometers.
