This target is obtained with a continuous effort towards the excellence of the products associated to a proper control of cost. SMF is for Customers a stable and reliable Partner with the target of meeting Customers' expectations both for on time deliveries for qualities of the assigned supplies. SMF is managed by a group of people with a long experience an Aerospace sector build up with passion and technical expertise. These values are continuously transferred to all the Company Staff with the target of making sure that the Company has a long lasting success.
Sheet Metal Fabrication srl has been founded in 2008 to capitalize on the experience and network of relations built during some decades by the founders, former top managers active in the aerospace industry. It manufactures single parts or assembled components for use in aerospace (mostly, jet and turboprop engines, commercial and defense), industrial turbines and hi-tech systems applications. The 3 owners have extensive experience in the aviation industry, given their different roles in groups operating in national / international markets Design Quality & Laboratory Production & Planning Program Management
The company employs 30 people highly specialized in sheet metal stamping, machining and welding for aerospace applications, all located in a 2500 sq. mt. directly owned, factory floor. The whole company processes are certified ISO 9001 and EN/AS 9100 and since end of 2013 SMF gained NADCAP National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program for FPI processes. The company grew steadily during the years reaching + 37,88% in four years (nearly 3 mio in 2013)
Its major area of manufacturing are: Helicopter transmissions components Space and propulsion system components Military turbofan components Civil turbofan components Civil and military turboprop components Gas turbine components for marine and industrial applications Standard manufacturing processes of the industry are integrated by highly specialized procedures: TIG welding, CNC die-sinking and CNC wire-cut EDM, rotating parts balancing, heat treatments, vacuum brazing, liquid penetrant inspection, dimensional testing with 3D measuring Materials used are aerospace-specific, e.g. AISI 321, Hastelloy X, Titanium and aluminium alloy, Inconel 625/.718, Nimonic 90/C263, 15CDV6 alloy steel

1. The purpose is to verify the absence of defects in the areas that have been machined, pressed, formed or welded applying a proper fluorescent penetrating liquid and to verify, after a cleaning process the presence of some liquid inside a defects that is not visible normally. SMF has a ND control facility, and the assigned people, qualified for Aerospace parts..
