Count 1 As always, more Smart Rooms :-) Assistance using iphoes as remotes for the ipads 1 Audio cords should be included along with the video hook-ups in each smart room. 1 Computers in all rooms 1 Faster wireless Internet. 1 I hope someone could come to the classroom and change the connector right away. 1 It would be great if sound cords were attached to the smart room panel box. 1 MDS may deliever a portable projector to the classroom. 1 Make every room a smart room! 1 More smart rooms, please! 1 Newer infrastructure, especially connectors which often seem worn. 1 None 1 None - nice job so far! 1 Remind me about how to transfer my video onto DVD 1 Seems like you guys are doing a great job! 1 Wureless connection from laptop to wall unit. Availability of wireless microphones 1 audio cords available in the classroom 1 more smart rooms 1 more students use mac than pc. can we have a permanent adapter available for the mac users?

Count 1 If you could make some of the dumb rooms smarter that would be really helpful - Building 38 classrooms like 226 have some ancient television/vcr set-ups that are very poor. 1 More funding to MDS, it's a critical service and has a DIRECT influence on the quality of teaching and learning. 1 As mentioned previously, this room needs a longer VGA cable so that it will not be precariously suspended when a computer is on the bench. Next quarter I teach in 26-103 and it's my understanding that the projection screen is smack in the middle of _both_ chalkboards. It would be very nice if this could be moved to cover only one board. 1 this isn't my first time in this classroom, and it is by far my favorite on campus. I wish they were all this good from location of projection screens, size of dry erase boards, to aspect ratio of the classroom. 1 Spare System Setup Now I recall in Fall 2011 when I taught at 20-140 suddenly in one end-ofquarter presentation week we found the 15-pin male connector from the projector box has one pin bent and we could not straighten it. The entire cable is not usable and we have no time to call for a fix. We ended up with verbal presentation. I am wondering if the cable can have a split spare so that just in case one connector is bad, the spare one can be taken place immediately. 1 For future smart rooms, it would help to have the wall outlets positioned in such a way that the cables do not get into the way of the presenter. I have to be careful not to trip over cables when I get up from the lecturer's table to approach the screen. 1 The projector screen in 26-103 blocks a large portion of the chalkboards, making it inconvenient to use the projector and the chalkboards at the same time. It would be very helpful if the screen could be moved to one side of the classroom, so that more board space could be used while the projector is in use. Thank you! 1 The longest timeouts which are considered bearable on projectors, or an activity detector. Sometimes projectors cut out in the middle of longer presentations. This is a minor problem, though; in general things worked great. 1 186-C303 is a very bright room, especially at 9 am. Darker blinds or blackout curtains would help a lot, and a brighter projector would be appreciated. 1 It would help to have audio and internet cables included in the room (like the video cable) It would of course also be great to have computers in each room so I could have notes on my computer and the powerpoint on the classroom computer. 1 08-121: Move projector screen to the NE or SE corner AWAY FROM CHALKBOARD and move chalkboard on West wall to East wall. The existing chalkboard (on South wall) is too small. Locate projector screens in all Smart Rooms AWAY FROM CHALKBOARD. 1 Light dimming in the room. Currently the ceiling light near the screen is not connected and thus a dark spot in that corner of the room. 1 Make sure I can use full white/blackboards while using the screen (13-110 is good, 192-124 is NOT). 1 My purposes are limited to PowerPoint presentations, and the occasional DVD. For me, the service is fine. 1 Better wireless access in the classrooms - I often rely on youtube videos, etc. as en example that we will then analyze in class, testing/applying the theories the students are learning, and it is so hit or miss whether I will actually have wireless access on any given day 1 Someday I'd love to be able to connect to the projector from the ipad wirelessly. My ipad connector falls out too easily. 1 There has been a loud hum in the room for a while now, I haven't been able to figure out what it is. 1 Now and in the past, I have had no problems with either the Laptop connection and operation or the Overhead projector. 1 Quicker response when there are problems. When there is equipment failure we lose valuable class time. The current staff are excellent but the university needs to increase staffing levels in MDS and ITS. 1 I think the older smart rooms should be checked for the quality of the connections especially with the number of people using them. 1 PLEASE make all rooms smart rooms. I taught two classes this quarter in rooms that were not smart rooms...in one, I brought a projector, but because of the concrete walls, couldn't get online. FRUSTRATING. We are a polytechnic university!

Count 1 I contacted my Liberal Arts technical staff. They tried several times to get my computer to make viewable projections. Although they said that they found a way to make it work, I was never able to successfully use my computer in this classroom. 1 In library lab, was not clear who to call and whether fix could be immediate. Wireless interest in Building 5 very poor. 1 MDS has been great in meeting my requests for laptop checkout. Just need to get clear with campus police that the loading dock is a permissible parking space if you are picking up equipment. I got a ticket there and had to get a "loading permit" to pick up equipment from MDS near the Educ/Bus buildings. 1 The student staff in the MDS office should be better trained with regard to customer service. Whenever I visit this office, I am always surprised how unprofessional I am treated. My administrative assistant has complained about the same issue too.
