OERORS & SOOLS INERNL OERORS he table at right shows available internal operats and the most common spools. o specify, refer to ypical Model Code f the specific valve model. Contact the Dynex sales department f availability of spool options not shown. he function symbols in the table show solenoid lever actuated models, as reference. ir hydraulic actuats are also available. Flow pattern in the center position during crossover is determined by the spool selected. Refer to Spool Descriptions on page 4. Flow ctuating attern Operating actuat opens flow path to pt ( ). Operating actuat opens flow path to pt ( ). he exception are models with Code 6 operats, which are actuat centered. -centered spring-offset models are spring positioned unless actuated. Code 3 operats (two position detented) hold the spool in the last actuated position. hese valves can be actuated momentarily (minimum electrical signal duration, 0 ms) to shift and hold the spool in that position. SOOL SELECION s shown in the table on page 4, identification of spools f the same function differs, depending on whether the valve is direct pilot-operated. Not all spool types are available f every valve size and with every internal operat. Refer to the ypical Model Code f each specific model. High pressure valves with H03 and H0 patterns, use ype and 2 spools f models with Code and Code 2 internal operats. he exception are manual lever H03 models, which use ype 0 and spools. ype 0 and spools provide the same function, but can not be interchanged with ype 2 spools. LICION LICION NOES Electrical Data he tables list electrical specifications f Dynex directional valves. D03 and H03 valves use the same solenoids. High flow D0H, D08 and D08H valves also use this solenoid, with the D03 valve serving as a pilot valve. D0, H0 and VS valves use the same larger solenoid. Mounting osition Unrestricted f all valves. Manual Operated Valves Lever operated models provide a choice of four positions on either pt end pt end of valve. o specify handle ientation, see ypical Model Code f the specific valve model. Standard Seals ll valves use Fluocarbon (Viton equivalent) o-rings, providing greater fluid compatibility and improved temperature range perfmance. Fluid Recommendations 0 to 00 SUS (7 to 323 cst) viscosity; - to 0 F (-29 to +93 C) temperature range. Recommended Filtration Use filtration to provide fluid which meets these ISO Code 4406 cleanliness values: Standard N.F... (CEO) atterns, 8/6/3 to 000 psi (30 bar); H03 and H0 atterns, 8/6/3 to 000 psi (30 bar), 7//2 higher than 000 psi (30 bar); VS Series Seated Valves, /8/. dequate filtration is critical f spool valves held in one position f long periods under pressure. Silting may cause spool valves to stick and not shift properly. Valves should also be cycled periodically. ressure Surges Consistent with standard practice, the system must be protected from pressure surges which can affect the shifting of any spool valve. In systems with multiple valves, a separate line to tank, to another low pressure line, is recommended. his is especially critical with detented models. Internal drain and external pilot are optional. See ypical Model Code f each valve model. lso refer to the installation drawings, which indicate plug locations f various drain and pilot configurations. External drain is recommended f applications with high tank pressure, to assure proper spool shifting.
ELECRICL OIONS SOLENOID ND ELECRICL OIONS Solenoid dvantages Solenoid models are quiet and moisture resistant f long life. Wet armature design eliminates dynamic seals and increases the available shifting fces. Static o-rings prevent external leakage. Manual Solenoid Override Solenoid override pins are made of crosion-resistant brass f trouble free operation. he M option, shown at right, provides convenient hand-actuated override, without the use of tools. Refer to ypical Model Code on the appropriate page f each specific model. 3.3 (79,).C. 3.74 (9,0) D.C. 3.3 (89,7) Standard Wire Leads Standard models include UL listed and CS approved wire leads. he valves feature large, lightweight wiring boxes, providing a rigid, strong enclosure f electrical connections. he nameplate retainer helps during installation, keeping the proper nameplate with each valve when wiring multiple valves. erminal Strip Connecting wire leads is easier with this convenient feature. Four sets of common terminal screws let you cut leads to desired length and make simple connections. ccess to the terminals is improved by mounting posts which raise the strip to the top of the box. o specify terminal strip, include in model code. lso available, with mounting posts and screws, in kit KV003000. 6
ELECRICL OIONS Connects (3- Or -in) Simplify your connections and prevent wiring mistakes with quick-connect pin receptacles (N.F... standard 3..29-980;.N.S.I. standard 93.M-98). Valves with these UL recognized and CS certified connects can be serviced without disturbing wiring. Internal valve wiring is complete, with leads connected to a terminal strip in wiring box. ll wires have UL and CS approved solder-less terminals. Wiring diagrams show the standard connections f 3-pin and -pin connects. he commercially available mating female connect is not included. CED ENDS SOLENOID SOLENOID F installation convenience, valves are available with connect on either end of valve. o specify connects refer to ypical Model Code on the appropriate page f each specific model. he connects are also available in kit KV003002 (3-pin) KV003003 (-pin). 4 3 2 SOLENOID Five-pin Connect, Solenoid 3 4 2 SOLENOID Five-pin Connect, Double Solenoid 3 2 hree-pin Connect, Solenoid Cable Grip nd Lights revent accidental electric discon nection during operation, with this optional grip f.38 to.44 inch (9, to, mm) O.D. machine tool cable. Cable grip is mounted in electric entry, on pt end of valve. Simplify troubleshooting in your systems with bright, neon signal lights. vailable in.c. models only. o specify cable grip, include CG in model code. F lights, include SL. lso available separately as part number 760960 (grip) kit KV00300 (lights). lug-in erminal Solenoids Integral solenoid plugs simplify electrical connections during installation and servicing. hree terminal, bi-polar plugs fit DIN Connect, Standard 4360 Fm ( Hirsch mann type). Installation is easier because valves can be mounted without removal of nameplate. Openings in nameplate provide access to mounting holes in valve bodies. Commercially available mating plug is not included. 7
