We build our tanks with longevity in mind using only the best materials, such as STM 36 steel,00% full welds inside and out (no skip welding), and belly plates on all gallon tanks. We take great pride in our ability to manufacture superior water tanks and proudly back that up with our standard five year tank warranty. From the date of your purchase, we cover against defective workmanship or defective materials for a full five years. (For details see United Truck & Equipment Inc. warranty documentation.) We want your tank to outlive your truck! s part of our superior craftsmanship, all of our gallon tanks have full belly plates. These plates increase the longevity of the tank by reinforcing the area most affected by stress and vibration. This additional detail is critical for preventing premature cracking and deterioration. Standard belly plates are constructed with 3 6 STM 36 steel, running the entire length of the tank and measure 60 across. The belly plates, like all elements of our tanks, are 00% full welds, no skip welding. 38 PUMP ROTTION GUIE FIRST TIME USE PKING: Starting new pump. efore starting pump for the first time, loosen gland nuts and retighten finger tight. Once running allow packing to leak liberally for a few moments. Then tighten gland nuts one complete turn each until leakage is reduced to 40 to 60 drops per minute. PUMPS WITH MEHNIL SEL: djustment or maintenance is normally not required. The seal is enclosed within the pump and is self adjusting. PRIMING: Pump MUST E completely filled with water when operating. self-priming pump only needs to be manually primed at the first start-up. Once primed, under normal conditions pump will re-prime automatically at each subsequent start-up. To prime, remove plug from top of pump case and fill case with water. Replace plug and start pump. Unit is equipped with a flapper type check valve which will open at start-up and allow pump to evacuate air from the suction line. fter several minutes of operation, pump will be fully primed and pumping water. 51 OPERTION & MINTENNE OPERTION OF WTER TRUK SPRY SYSTEM WITH HOT SHIFT PTO Engage PTO while truck RPM is,000 or less. isengage PTO at any RPM. WITH IR OR LE SHIFT PTO Engage PTO while truck is standing still. Never try to engage or disengage PTO while truck is moving. Transmission or PTO failure will result. O NOT close all spray head(s) under full pressure. Pump or spray head damage may occur. To close valves safely let engine wind down with clutch disengaged, then close spray heads. O NOT operate water pump with empty water tank. Water lubricates the pump seals, therefore, lack of water will result in seal failure. The PTO on your truck is matched to your pumping system. The engine on a diesel powered unit should not exceed 2200 RPM while pumping. Gasoline powered units should not exceed 3000 RPM while pumping. Over-speeding the pump can cause premature drive line and pump failure. ITH FILL OPERTION SELF PRIMING PUMPS:. Pump volute must be filled with water. 2. onnect fill hose to cam-loc fitting on pump suction plumbing and lower strainer into water source. 3. lose 4 valve between tank and pump suction. Open the valve between pump and fill hose. Open valve between pump discharge and tank. 4. Engage pump drive and set engine speed at 2000 rpm. 5. When tank is filled, turn off pump drive. Reverse position of the three valves so system is ready for spraying. NON-SELF PRIMING PUMPS:. There must be enough water in the tank to flood the pump volute and the fill hose. heck the foot valve on the fill hose to assure it closes. If the foot valve doesn t hold water, repair or replace it before proceeding. 2. onnect fill hose to cam-loc fitting on pump suction plumbing and lower foot valve into water source. 3. lose the valve between tank and pump suction. Open the valve between pump and fill hose. Open the valve between pump discharge and tank. 4. Engage pump drive and set engine speed at 2000 rpm. If at this point the pump isn t moving water, do the following: Leave the pump turning. Simultaneously, close the hose valve and open the tank to pump valve. This creates a flow of water through the pump. Then, reverse these valves at the same time. The momentum of the flow through the pump should start filling the tank. 5. When filling is complete and pump drive is shut down, reverse valve positions before disconnecting the suction hose at the cam-loc. If you encounter problems with filling check for: v Valve Positioning v Suction Hose is Water and ir Tight (including cam-loc) v Obstructions ehind the Pump v Foot Valve/Strainer blocked by mud or sand v roken Pump Shaft Rocks or pieces of rust periodically make their way through the water loading system (top or ditch fill). heck inside the tank weekly for foreign objects and remove them. Pea sized rocks can damage the pump and spray system. Winterize your system: lways drain pump and piping before a freeze. Freezing water will split the pump and piping. Grease pump and PTO drive shaft bi-weekly with good multipurpose chassis grease.
