App. will be included with the Employment App. International Falls Maintenance Garage As soon as possible after receipt of conditional job offer and successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and Criminal Background Check, as required for this position. 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday thru Friday; hours subject to change B23 Union/Hourly BARGAINING UNIT: International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 49 RATE OF PAY: FRINGE BENEFITS: RESPONSBILITIES: OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: COUNTY CONTACT PERSON: Appx. $17.64/hr as step 1 of 4 year step system 100% wage at completion of step process is appx $22.04/hr. Additional wage/step details available in Union Contract In accordance with the Union Contract Applicants must be able to operate and maintain a tandem axle dump truck, motor grader, front end loader, loader/backhoe, and any other heavy equipment used by the Kooch. County Highway Department. Other typical duties include normal highway maintenance work such as: snowplowing, blading, mowing roadsides, patching blacktop, hauling gravel, cleaning ditches, sanding, and maintaining equipment. Successful applicants must be able to get along with the public as well as his/her fellow employees. Successful applicants shall live within appx 45 minute response time of the County s International Falls Maintenance Shop. Responsive Applicants shall demonstrate previous experience as Heavy Equipment Operator and Truck Driver along with Class A or Class B Commercial Driver s License. Successful Applicant shall be required to obtain Class A Commercial Driver s License within 6 months following first date of employment with Koochiching County. Applications will be screened by a hiring committee comprised of the County Engineer and other individuals familiar with Koochiching County Highway Dept. operations. Top applicants and finalists will be given oral interview(s) and hands-on heavy equipment operation tests. Equipment used in the Hands on Tests shall be provided by Koochiching County. References are requested, and will be checked as deemed necessary by the hiring committee.
