3 GENERAL: Slope mower specification With flail attachment It is the intent of these specifications to describe a new current year multi use implement carrier specifically designed for extreme slope work but not limited to mowing and must be capable of safely traversing across slopes of 35 to 40 degrees and steeper. The unit must have low ground pressure and be designed for use in environmentally sensitive areas with minimal impact to the earth. The unit shall be fully functional in accordance with the specifications. All parts of unit shall be proper size, quality and design. The equipment shall meet or exceed the construction and performance specifications described in the following minimum specifications. Special items needed to bring this unit up to specifications shall be accepted only if they are the manufacture s regular or approved factory options. Prior to delivery, all equipment specified herein shall be completed and serviced as necessary to assure proper operation and function. Engine: Tier 4 VM R754IE4, 2.97 liter 4-cylinder with turbocharger, 4-stroke, common rail fuel injection, water cooled with a minimum of 109hp and 309 foot pounds of torque. A factory installed oxidation catalyst diesel particulate filter will be installed to meet Tier IIIB specifications. Electrical: 12-volt, 120A alternator with 100AH cold start battery and automatic pre-heat system for cold start. The battery must have enough amp hours to operate the tractor and the DPF. Exhaust: A factory approved ground guard system is to be installed to minimize the potential of damage to the system. Transmission: Infinitely variable hydrostatic drive with adjusting pump, adjusting motor and 2- speed output gear box with a neutral position. The vehicle drive control system can be switched on and off. Speeds: Low range (mph): forward, reverse. High range (mph): forward, reverse. Power Take Off: Front and rear PTO shaft with standard 1-3/8, 6 spline shaft with clockwise rotation (viewed from shaft end). The electro-hydraulically operated dry single plate clutch can be engaged and disengaged under load. Front PTO maximum speed 550rpm or 1090rpm. Rear PTO maximum speed 580rpm or760rpm pre-selectable separately front and rear. Axle Drive: Permanent 4-wheel drive with Torsen inter-axle differential for full time 4-wheel drive and electro-hydraulically operated fully lockable differentials in the front and rear axles.

4 Steering: Hydrostatic 4-wheel steering, switchable to front wheel steering, rear wheel steering, or quasi-crab steering by push button control. Change of steering mode at will by automatic detection and synchronization of wheel position by inductive sensors. Tires: Must be all ground 440/50 R17 Radial tires designed especially for use on steep slopes. All 4 tires will be of equal size. In addition, hydrostatic driving brake, spring loaded parking brake on rear axle that automatically and/or manually engages. Driver s Cab: Dust proof all around view comfort cab with vibration and noise dampening, maximum 79db. Safety frame must meet 79/622/EEC minimum. Front windshield must have washer and wiper with automatic delay, all glass door, rear window that opens as a safety door and all glass must be tinted. Air conditioning/heating system must be climate controlled, have dust filtration, with selectable defrost and re-circulating air. Cab must be wired for AM/FM radio with factory installed speakers. The seat must be able to be adjustable and have automatic and/or manual power tilt seat and have a lap seat belt. Display screen must have a digital read-out of miles per hour, fuel bar graph, engine water temperature bar graph, and hydraulic oil bar graph. Display shall show digital engine RPM s, digital front and rear PTO RPM s and be self adjusting on degree of illumination. Dash must have display lights for headlights, high beams, directional s and hydrostatic high speed, front differential lock, rear differential lock, steering mode indicator and have a hydraulic safety lock with indicator. Cab must have interior dome and map light. Cab must be outfitted with cab escape tool (cut seat belt and break glass). Tractor must have rear view mirrors inside and outside. Computer: Factory installed computer to monitor operating conditions that will alarm both visually and audibly notifying operator of problems and identifying what the problem is. The system must be able to retain and recall on demand all faults over the duration of the tractor s life. The computer must also be programmable to calculate mowing acreage with a reset capability. Computer can be upgraded with new software as needed. Electronic troubleshooting of all wires, switches and solenoids can be accomplished from the Operator s seat. Air Conditioning system can be tested from the Operator s seat. Automatic calibration of the front attachment weight and adjustments can be done from the Operator s seat. Operation: A total of 24 functions can be controlled via the drive lever. Using the keypad to the right of the driver, additional functions of the hydraulic-system, the heating and the airconditioning system can be controlled and operating sequences such as the connection of the front and rear equipment can be programed. All information about the operating status and important settings are shown on a display or indicated by lamps. The driver can choose between four different driving modes: road travel, mowing, snow blowing, and proportional

5 drive. For street mode and mowing mode ECO-drive can be activated. With the TipTronic the driving speed can be divided into 6 stages. Multifunction lever with compass rose switches. Without intervention by the driver adjusts the Automatic Drive Control (load sensing) adjusts the wheel speed for the working conditions and this can be adjusted by the driver and displayed on the dash. Lighting: Tractor must have a minimum of the following; front headlights with high and low beam, front and rear directionals, and corner marker lights. Cab will also have the optional factory front and rear overhead working lights that have factory installed switches that are back lighted, rear window wiper and strobe light. Front Three-Point Hitch: Will be able to lift a minimum of 4400 pounds. Front three-point hitch will have ride control for driving on the road. Weight transfer will allow front attachment to float along ground surface with computer monitored pressures ranging from 0 100%. Front hitch will be able to calibrate the weight of the attachment and digitally display a percentage of weight transfer that has been selected, pressure to hold position of attachment, desired pressure for percentage requested by Operator and actual pressure. Front 3-point hitch must be able to hydraulically side shift 13 left of center and 13 right of center from the Operator s position. Rear Three-Point Hitch: Will be able to lift a minimum of 4275 pounds and be category I or II. Fuel Tank: Minimum of 23.7 gallons of diesel fuel. Total Tractor Length will not exceed 161 inches. Total Tractor Height will not exceed 84 inches. Total Tractor Width will not exceed 84 inches without dual tires. Front Mounted Flail Mower shall have a working width of 89 inches (2.25m) and have a factory supplied front mount hitch to match the tractor category I hitch. The flail will not exceed 1100 pounds and will be delivered on the tractor and ready to operate. The flail will have the heavy duty Y knives and will be supplied with 10 sets of spare knives and hardware. Tractor to be delivered to work site and 6 hours of operator training to be provided at time of delivery. Included in the bid price will be the first tractor warranty service at 50 hours of operating time or 6 months to be compliant with the warranty specifications. Customer to supply all materials and dealer to supply all labor. Parts manual, operator s manual and safety manual to be delivered with tractor and flail mower. Must be a factory authorized Distributor and factory authorized for parts and service. Technical specifications are subject to change without notice.

6 MISCELLANEOUS/ ACCESSORIES o Bidder shall provide: Product specifications Technical assistance- coordinated through supervisor Operation and maintenance manuals Warranty of two years Training of owners personnel. ( at time of testing and start-up) Supplier of the slope mower shall have permanent service facilities in this trade area (tristate, North Dakota, Minnesota, and South Dakota). These facilities shall comprise a permanent force of factory trained service personnel experienced in servicing this type of equipment, providing warranty and routine maintenance service to afford the owner maximum protection.
