4 AUGER DREDGERS Dredge Yard s multifunctional auger dredgers are designed to efficiently collect silt, sediments, sand and minerals. The auger dredgers are suitable for a variety of applications and environments, such as water reservoirs, hydro dams, environmental dredging, channels and harbours. BENEFITS HIGH PRODUCTION CAPACITY AT SEVERAL DEPTHS The heavy-duty dredge pump is located under water on the auger ladder. This allows the pump to have a higher pumping flow and a higher density mixture, resulting in more production than a dredge pump mounted in the pontoons. The vacuum limit will not be reached with an underwater dredge pump, which results in increased production. Especially when dredging at a depth of 6 meters or more. OPTIMIZED PRODUCTION FOR EACH DISCHARGE LENGTH Due to the hydraulic drive of the dredge pump, the speed of the pump can be adjusted. Because of this variable speed, the auger dredger can pump a mixture of silt, sand and sediments to different discharge pipe lengths. LOW CONSUMPTION Because the pump speed is variable and the dredge pump is underwater, the system can be more efficient. The pump can be used at the right speed according to the discharge pipe length. Due to the underwater pump, the mixture density is also higher. This results in a low fuel consumption per cubic meter production. HIGH PRODUCTION The auger head is designed in such a way that the mixture is pushed efficiently to the center of the auger head. Because of the auger head s conical shape (from big diameter at the corners to smaller diameter in the middle), the auger head collects more soil, silt, sediments and sand at the center, where the suction mouth is placed. 4 Dredge Yard Jun 2018

5 EASY MOBILIZATION IN THE WATER The auger dredger is supplied with high efficiency hydraulic propulsion of a first class brand. With this dredge propulsion the dredger can move around the dredging area without any involvement of supporting boats. CABIN WITH ALL NECESSARIES Dredge Yard s control cabins are provided with air conditioning or heating. The cabin is also supplied with noise reduction, ventilation, rain/screen wiper, adjustable chair, mirrors and lock door. The cabin is mounted on vibration reduction to minimize vibration. The cabin is placed in the middle of the auger dredger and above the center pontoon to provide a good overview of all operations. REPLACEABLE AUGER HEAD KNIVES Sometimes the auger head has to work in more compact material that needs to be loosened before it can be sucked by the dredge pump. For this application we can place cutting knives on the auger head. These knives are bolted to the auger head and can be easily replaced when worn out. RELIABLE BRANDS Dredge Yard s auger dredgers are only provided with components of first class brands. All equipment is from reputable manufacturers with proven designs. The steel components are manufactured under Dredge Yard s supervision and have undergone a detailed inspection. MAIN FEATURES AUGER HEAD The auger head has adjustable visors on both upper and lower side of the auger head to reduce the spillage of sediments. It can be provided with cutting knives for more compact material. The auger head drive is a high performance low speed hydraulic motor, placed inside the auger head drum and supported by a robust bearing assembly. DREDGE PUMP The high efficiency underwater dredge pump is driven by a hydraulic motor and mounted on a rigid bearing assembly on the ladder. POWER Our auger dredgers are supplied with a reliable and efficient diesel driven hydraulic power unit. The diesel engine and hydraulic system are cooled by an air radiator. DREDGE SYSTEM The auger ladder has a stiffened structure to make it suitable for extension to a different depth. It is hoisted by a hydraulic operated winch, mounted on the pontoon in front of the cabin. A wear resistant, thick and reinforced rubber hose is assembled between the ladder and the pontoon. For moving the dredger back and forth two hydraulic winches are provided with roller assembly. PONTOONS The base of our auger dredgers consists of one center pontoon and two side pontoons. These are stiffened with longitudinal and cross bars. A gantry with sheave assembly is placed between the two pontoons for hoisting the auger head, dredge pump and auger ladder. The operating cabin is mounted on the center pontoon and supplied with air-conditioning or heater. 5 Dredge Yard Jun 2018

6 AUGER DREDGERS OPTIONS AUTOMATION & CONTROL An automation control system can improve the overall performance of the dredger and makes the dredging process more visible. Several types of dredging automation and controls can be provided depending on the level of automation and project requirements. PLAIN SUCTION DREDGER The dredger can be modified to a plain suction dredger by replacing the auger head. The plain suction head can be supplied by Dredge Yard and fits on the existing foundation and flanges. EXTENSION OF DREDGING DEPTH The standard dredging depth can be extended to meet the requirement of a certain project by adding an additional adapter between the dredge pump and the auger head system. HYDRAULIC PROPULSION For the easy movement of the auger dredger two compact and efficient hydraulic thrusters can be mounted at the back of the side pontoons. Steering is done from the operating cabin by a joystick. CUTTER SUCTION DREDGER The dredger can also be modified to a cutter suction dredger by changing the ladder front piece from auger head to cutter head, changing the orientation of the winches and placing spuds with spud hydraulic cylinders. Everything needed for these adjustments can be supplied by Dredge Yard and it is all a plug and play system. 6 Dredge Yard Jun 2018

7 EXTRA S SPRAY NOZZLE For discharge spray on longer distance a special designed spray nozzle can be provided for soil, silt, mineral or sands. This nozzle can be made from wear resistant material, depending on the dredging mixture. TRAINING Dredge Yard can provide crew training at location or at Dredge Yard s facilities, as well as supervise assembly, disassembly, commissioning and mobilization of the auger dredger. SPARE PARTS Spare part packages and maintenance guidance can be supplied for several years. The spare parts can be supplied at initial purchase of the auger dredger or after it has been in operation. Dredge Yard will strive to keep the necessary stock of spare parts to serve customers when needed. DISCHARGE PIPE LINE An HDPE discharge pipe line can be provided with several types of floaters and rubber hoses. TRANSPORT TRUCK Because of the limited width of the pontoons, the ECO Auger Dredger can be transported on a flatbed truck by road, without having to disassemble it. CONTAINERS The auger head dredger can be transported in standard 40 ft. containers to any location in the world. 10 APPLICATIONS FOR OUR DREDGE & MINING EQUIPMENT RIVER, CANAL, CHANNEL & HARBOUR It is important to maintain harbours and keep the waterways open for inland transport & navigation. Dredging is also vital for flood prevention projects. SETTLING POND Our ECO dredging equipment is especially designed to clean, desilt and desludge a wide range of industrial settling ponds, holding ponds and lagoons. RESERVOIR, LAKE & DAM Reservoirs, lakes and dam dredging should be done regularly, to restore them to their full capacities. Our ECO Dredgers are perfect for these kind of jobs. WATER INTAKE Proper and regular maintenance is needed to keep basins clean and the capacity at it s maximum. Therefore we offer equipment for water intake cleaning & dredging. MINE TAILING Our ECO Dredgers are very suitable for mine tailing removal to clean up ponds or dredge ponds to subsequently further process the tailings for leftover valuables.
