2 Who we are? Sorbcontrol, S.L. arises from the vast experience gained over the years in response to the problems of marine and industrial pollution caused by oil spills and chemical products. We also respond to the needs relating to pollution control in industrial and port facilities. We apply our knowledge and technology available in the industry to develop equipment and systems for controlling pollution from spills marketed under the brand GRINTEC. Our goal is to get the best results for our clients, while ensuring the quality standards in trade and production. 7 GRINTEC Containment Booms come in a wide range of models, amongst them we highlight: Cylindrical (Type BC) with or without Anti-turbidity curtains. Also available in fast deployment system. For usage in open waters, bays and also in protected waters and ports. Flat (Type P). Developed for rapid deployment and collection. Its ideal application is for protected waters without waves. Inflatable (Type BH) and Self-inflatable (Type BAH). We offer a wide range of sizes for use in open waters but also in calm and protected waters aswell. Permanent (Type BR). Made of an extremely strong polyester fabric and covered in a UV treated PVC that is highly resistant to chemicals and mechanics and which has more resistance to the effects of prolonged exposure to the sun. Self-Inflatable. Designed for fast deployment without auxiliary devices to have ready to use. No training is needed for operate this fast and and strong oil boom. All our models can be made in Strong (1450g/m²) or Panel (800g/m²) fabrics. Poliester PVC or PU coated. Cylindrical GRINTEC C containment booms are designed for use in sheltered waters, ports, open water and bays. They are made of PVC coated polyester and their buoyancy chambers contain closed-cell foam. Their cylindrical floats provided them with exceptional buoyancy and excellent wave following characteristics. Additionally, we could offer our cylindrical boom with silt curtain when needed. Silt curtains are required to control silt and turbidity while working in or around water. 8 Flat GRINTEC P containment booms are designed for fast deployment and collection. It are made of oil resistant PVC-coated Polyester and their buoyancy chambers contain closed-cell foam panels. Thanks of their flat chambers, they are particularly suited to being stowed on reels. They are ideal for sheltered waters with no waves. They are designed to provide a rapid response to assist in the containment and clean-up of oil spills. Available in a wide range of sizes for use in calm, sheltered and open waters. Buoyancy is provided by their 6m watertight sections. Each section also has a non-porous internal PVC chamber that ensures water tightness, and both are sealed and high frequency welded into a single joint. 9 Self-inflatable GRINTEC RAPID containment boom is designed for use in sheltered waters and ports as well as in bays and open water. It is made in PVCcoated polyester fabric and its floating chamber contains several self-inflating mechanical systems inside, entirely free of metallic components. GRINTEC RAPID is lightweight and easy to handle with an exceptional balance between size and buoyancy. It also has a conventional inflatable boom rate of compactness, which is a perfect solution to stow high quantities of oil containment boom in a single standard reel. Moreover, the absence of valves facilitates an easy and quick deployment and stowage. Are made of PVC-coated Polyester high chemical resistance fabric, mechanical and UV treated for greater resistance to the effects of prolonged sun exposure. Its floats are made of rigid high density polypropylene (HDPP). Inside the floats, foam PE panels are placed to ensure the buoyancy even when the float breaks accidentally. The flat section and the absence of folds in the fabric makes this boom particularly suitable to stay long periods of time in the water. 12 GRINTEC Skimmer are compact models, designed for recovering all types of hydrocarbon. Within our range of Skimmer, we can differentiate between Selective Skimmers and Overflow Skimmers. All our equipments are designed in robust and resistant materials to both seawater and hydrocarbons. Selective Skimmers The Selective Skimmer GRINTEC are ideal for recovering fuel from light hydrocarbons to high viscosity by minimizing the amount of water collected (5% approx.). The hydrocarbons or oil adhere to the hydrophobic surface of the disks, after which the oil is separated and transported through hoses connected to a hydraulic pump and then on to storage tank. Ideal for use on the sea, rivers, lakes, etc. Ref. 13 Overflow Skimmers The Overflow Skimmer GRINTEC uses the simplest of principles: it adjusts the position of the floating ring with respect to the level of the oil, increasing or decreasing the flow of the suction pump. Our overflow skimmers can include an external suction pump. Overflow skimmers pick up more water than the majority of other types of skimmers, especially in the open sea, but in the long term their simplicity of design and operation, and therefore their mechanical reliability, mean they recover a lot more oil than other skimmers. 15 Self-supporting tanks GRINTEC Self-supporting tanks are an excellent solution for temporary storage of hydrocarbons in oil spill recovery operations. They are lightweight, take up little space when folded and their assembly does not require auxiliary items such as frames and tools. 17 Stowing equipments Reels The GRINTEC CRT Reels are the ideal solution for the stowage of oil containment booms. It enable a fast and safe boom deployment and collection. They are hydraulically operated, which means that an operator with little training can perform the operation easily. All the equipment is manufactured in steel that has been hot galvanized in a zinc bath at 400º and painted to marine corrosion resistance specifications. 20 OIL ONLY absorbents, are designed to absorb oil spills and other petroleum based liquids while repelling water. Oil absorbents are ideal for use in bunds, on lakes, harbours, rivers and the sea where oil needs to be absorbed without picking up water. 22 Absorbents sweeps Absorbent sweeps are long curtains of absorbent which are designed to remove the final oil sheen of a spill. Our sweeps come with a stitched band for easy handling and extra strength. They can even be towed behind a boat. Ref.
