Types of application and process: Manual: among trade users, manual polishing is reserved for the sealing of smaller areas and for wiping off polish residues and bringing the paintwork to a high shine. Orbital polishers: used mainly during the final paintwork-sealing stage. Pneumatic polishers differ from electric polishers in that they are often lighter and more powerful, making them more user-friendly. Circular polishers: where high-performance polishing is called for, a circular polisher is the right choice. High rotation speeds produce higher surface temperatures. In order to avoid damage, the surface must not be allowed to become too hot..3.3 Polishing pressure: Greater pressure equals greater abrasive power. Hard paintwork requires, and can cope with, greater pressure. Fresh or soft paintwork should be polished without exerting any pressure at all in order to avoid polishing smears..4 Possible polishing problems: While polishing, what to do if scratches and abrasion marks prove difficult to remove? use a harder sponge or lambswool pad increase speed of rotation use stronger polish increase amount of polish used polish in the opposite direction to the abrasion marks and scratches scratches appear? check whether the polishing sponge is clean use a softer polishing sponge reduce speed of rotation use less polish use a milder polish polish in the opposite direction to the abrasion marks and scratches reduce the polishing pressure/in the case of fresh paint, apply no pressure at all the polished surface doesn t really shine? Cockpit care satin shine apply 4 evenly with a sponge or Universal Cleaning Cloth - green * leave to dry 0009 If necessary, polish afterwards with Universal Cleaning Cloth - green. The surfaces to be treated must be clean and dry prior to starting work.
