Operating principle: Forced convection with a cross-flow fan for heating and cooling in a 4-conductor system. Sturdy floor pan made of galvanised sheet steel, coloured in anthracite grey (RAL 7016), external, adjustable and acoustically decoupled height adjustments (pre-installed). Condensate pan integrated into floor pan, incl. two drain connections (Ø 1 mm) on the sides. Register made of copper pipes and aluminium fins, anthracite grey (RAL7016) coated and mounted in transversal steel girder of galvanised sheet steel, acoustically decoupled. Cooling: Standard left to the face or room side connection with euro taper and union nut ( / 4 internal thread) and air vent. Ascotherm eco KC481 Operating principle Forced convection for heating Cold air from the window areas and cooled air are drawn in and transported through the heat exchanger. Heated air rises. Installation in front of window areas provides a specific shielding against cold air. For more information, see chapter "General information" Forced convection for cooling Warmed air is drawn in, cooled in the register and discharged into the room as cool air. Installation in front of window areas provides a specific shielding against the thermal radiation due to incident solar radiation. For more information, see chapter "General information". Heating: Standard right to the face or room side connection with euro taper and union nut ( / 4 internal thread) and air vent. Suitable for a max. operating pressure of bar (optionally 16 bar) and a max. operating temperature of 90 C. Cross-flow fan already installed in the floor pan parallel to the heat register (cross-flow fan on the window side). Protective cover over the cross-flow fan. Cross-flow fan with energy-saving EC motors 24 V, wired ready for connection. Low-noise fan operation, infinitely variable via analogue interface (0 V). Actuator control signal 24 V DC, infinitely variable via analogue interface (0 V). Synchronised control of fan speed and water flow for a hydraulically balanced pipe system and especially energy-efficient operation while maintaining a minimum spread between flow and return temperature. Factory configuration of appropriate control algorithm. Aluminium roll-up grille as standard. Acoustic decoupling through placement of the aluminium roll-up grille on rubber elements in the floor pan. Consisting of sturdy lengthwise profile bars, natural colour anodised, with profile bar dimensions of 20 x 6 mm..grille with a total height of 20 mm and an open cross-section of 70%. Including installation cover and edge bar protection for protection of the trench convectors during the construction phase. QA system certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008. Environmental management system to DIN EN ISO 14001:2004. 12 Product details Control system Control system In the course of converting from AC to EC technology for the Ascotherm eco fan motors, a powerful and innovative control system was developed. The new Ascotherm eco control system conforms to the growing demands for both modern single-room control and connection to a building management system via a KNX BUS. Attention was also payed to ensure easy installation during development of the control system. The control board is compatible with all Ascotherm eco trench convectors having EC cross-flow fans (KRN81, KC281, KC481) and already installed at the factory in a casing with protection class IP6. The installed electrical components are already completely wired and thus ready for connection upon arrival from the factory. Customer-specific upgrades of the system in the form of various signal inputs and outputs (plug-in contacts) are possible at any time. Control characteristics / functional overview Infinitely variable control of the fan speed in relation to the room's heat requirement (difference between set temperature and room temperature) Synchronised control of fan speed and valve stroke (water flow) for a hydraulically balanced pipe system and especially energy-efficient operation (maintenance of a minimum spread between flow and return temperature). According to a preliminary study conducted by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rainer Hirschberg, University of Aachen, this can save 8% of the thermal energy and more than 80% of the electrical energy (recirculation) compared to systems without synchronised control. Heating Cooling Electrical connection In a standard situation, only the mains supply ( V AC, conductor cross-section of at least 1, mm²) and the communication line to the Ascotherm eco room thermostat (wire cross-section 0,2 mm², twisted-pair conductors, max. permissible line length 0 m) need to be connected on site. Commissioning Every Ascotherm eco trench convector is supplied with all control parameters preset at the factory. Depending on the situation (e.g. control with or without a building management system), convector type and individual needs of the customer, control system parameters can be set during commissioning with the aid of an Ascotherm eco room thermostat (see accessory ZE ). 16 Product details The new connection sets with factory preset k V valves Connection sets for the Ascotherm eco It is recommended that the Ascotherm eco be fitted with preset k v connection sets (see accessories range). On request, the installation can be done at the factory. The Ascotherm eco units are fitted with preset connection sets depending on the heating or cooling capacity. Ascotherm eco units can also be fitted with the fine-adjusting valve. The adjustable valve insert permits reproducible settings of low water flow rates. The setting values can be taken from the diagram.
