These additional bars provide extra load distribution and lateral stability to the carrying members. For short spans, one set located at mid-point. Where gratings are subjected to extremely heavy loading conditions, or rolling loads at 90 degrees to bearing bars, further assurance of satisfactory performance can be obtained by trim banding the ends of panels.
