2 PLEBSCTE 1992 SUMMARY OF VOTES CAST - BY PLEBSCTE DSTRCT Ballots Cast For Votes Cast Voters Vote Polling Ballot including on List as Percentage Plebiscite District Stations No Papers rejected of Voters ballot oaoers on the List* June 22, 1992 Honourable Michael Ballantyne Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of the Northwest Territories Yellowknife, NWT XA 2L9 Dear Sir: n accordance with section 36( )(b) of the Plebiscite Act, it is my honour to submit this report of the results of the May 4, 1992 plebiscite on the boundary for division of the Northwest Territories, held according to your direction issued on February 17, This was the second plebiscite conducted under the provisions of the Plebiscite Act. t was achieved through the hard work and dedicated efforts of 24 Returning Officers and their assistant returning officers, as well as the more than 500 Northwest Territories residents who helped to prepare the rs' lists and supervise the voting by serving as enumerators, deputy returning officers and poll clerks. Their work was co-ordinated by a small staff located in the Plebiscite Offices in Yellowknife and qaluit. wish to acknowledge the assistance provided to the Plebiscite Office by the NWT Departments of Justice. Personnel, Government Services and Public Works, who helped us establish offices, connect telephones and fax machines in Returning Officers' offices, and provided legal advice to the Plebiscite Office. On behalf of Returning Officers, also wish to express our appreciation to regional offices of the Government of the Northwest Territories who provided assistance when requested or needed. am preparing a narrative report on the administration of the Plebiscite, which will submit as soon as practicable.
