4 ST SERIES HEAVY DUTY BATWING MOWERS MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE SINCE 1962 MODEL SHOWN ST-480 Time is money, and when there are large acreages to cover, efficiency is paramount. That is why with the WESSEX ST SERIES, high-output batwing rotary mowers, attention has been given to details like blade tip speed and up-turn on the blades which allows a superb cut at a fast forward speeds. Baffles beneath the deck ensure even distribution of cut material across the width of the machine without swathing. The Wessex ST Series feature a patented hydraulic levelling system allowing easy levelling of the machine regardless of the height of the tractor towing hitch. A simple hand-pump, hydraulic oil reservoir and a linkage rod system means that you can set the drawbar at any height, so the mower is cutting level behind any tractor. Whether it s on set-aside maintenance, stubble chopping or on amenity or airport grass, Wessex bat-wing rotary mowers will cover the acres quickly ensuring you get the most for your money. The range consists of 5 models from 4.8m through to 8.0m. The ST-480 and the ST-540 have 3 rotors, whilst the ST-640, ST-720 & ST-800 have 5, and all blade assemblies are mounted directly on the output shaft of a heavy-duty bevel gearbox each protected by its own friction plate clutch. 4 WESSEX AGRILINE RANGE The machine is lifted in and out of work hydraulically, and a series of pivoting rings on the hydraulic cylinder simply set the cutting height at the desired level. The ST-480 and ST-540 have 6 wheels as standard, the ST-640 offers the option of 6 or 8 wheels, and the ST-720 and ST-800 have 8 as standard. The 6 wheeled versions features independent suspension on each wheel, whilst the 8 wheeled machines have pivoting axles allowing smooth travel over rough terrain. The main deck fabrications consist of a massive box section sub-frame providing the machines integral strength, and a sheet steel plate above and below gives a clear, uncluttered deck which is kept free of residue build-up. The wings fold past centre for safety and stability on the road. Built to cope with the most arduous applications, this robust machine is ideal for controlling areas of dense vegetation and heavy scrubland ie, forestry plantations, firebreaks, rides, and gorse moorlands etc. The massive blades will deliver over 3,000 1 ton impact cuts per minute making light work of brambles, gorse, heather and trees / saplings up to 100mm diameter. The chain cutters are recommended in areas where there are likely to be hidden rocks, boulders and tree stumps etc. The chains will thoroughly lacerate cut material, accelerating the breakdown and rotting process. 8 SF SERIES FLAIL MOWERS MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE SINCE 1962 The WESSEX SF SERIES Flail mowers are designed to meet the needs of the farmer who requires a robust flail for general pasture management, and the council / contractor who is looking to maintain areas of grassland or roadside verges etc. The range consists of a 2.5m and a 2.8m, in both rear mounted and push / pull versions. The rear mounted units feature an adjustable tailgate which allows cut material to be either directed back onto the ground immediately behind the mower, or thrown clear of the machine to allow increased efficiency in longer grass. The large diameter, dynamically balanced rotor carries forged hammer-type flails, which will not only leave a good finish on grassland, but will also cope with very dense vegetation and woody material. SCAN TO SEE A DEMO SF SERIES 8 WESSEX AGRILINE RANGE The rear roller is repositioned to set the cutting height, and the roller bearings are integral for protection and durability. A Z baffle reduces the risk of grass and water intrusion into the bearing. The gearbox has an integral overrun clutch as standard fitment and features a sliding adjustment to tension the belts.
