2 INTRODUCING THE REVA ICP is a South African based company that designs and produces one of the most impressive Armoured Personnel Carriers used in combat today, namely the REVA. The acronym REVA stands for RELIABLE, EFFECTIVE, VERSATILE AND AFFORDABLE, which personifies the clear vision of its Special Forces designers: to produce a ballistic and blast-protected vehicle that ensures the safety of armed forces and other personnel. A thorough evaluation of the client s needs, especially in terms of a strategic assessment of the specific location and terrain, enables the company to perform an integrated risk analysis and to present the client with innovative and cost-effective solutions and configurations. Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), Explosive Formed Projectile (EFP), land mines, car bombs, suicide bombers and hostile sniper fire are all commonplace in the theatre of war of the 21st century and the need for protection of both personnel and assets has increased significantly. REVA takes all these threats in its stride and with solid double-skinned armouring and V-shaped hull, the design offers superb protection. All systems and procedures are fully aligned with internationally recognized quality-management philosophies, which clearly demonstrate a total commitment to render a superior risk-management and loss-prevention service. The REVA is highly versatile, and has been customized to a variety of client military specifications. It is the company s believe that a sale does not signal the end of a partnership with the client and therefore full capability integration forms a critical phase of the partnership process. PAGE 01

3 HISTORY, EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE The REVA is the brainchild of Flip Marx, CEO of ICP. Mr. Marx, a retired Special Forces Colonel with extensive expertise in Armoured Personnel Carriers and ballistics. In October 2004 he was approached by a renowned security company to design and build a vehicle that could afford them the protection needed during the heightened hostility in the Iraqi conflict. Together with his team of former Special Forces servicemen and their vast experience in both tactical, engineering and weaponry know how, the first REVA Armoured Personnel Carriers with a combat-proven, anti-landmine design of solid monocoque and V-shaped hull, were manufactured and delivered in Iraq in December The vehicles were immediately put into operation and proved their worth with user-suggested additions such as double-skin armouring and 63mm armoured laminated glass which was incorporated into the design. The REVA was then also evaluated by the US Army Joint Command in Iraq and as a result ICP was awarded contracts to supply a substantial number of REVAS for the US Special Forces and the Iraqi Police Force for deployment in Iraq. During operations, the vehicle went from strength to strength and its exceptional performance in protecting the lives of civilian and military personnel resulted in further contracts. Today, over 600 vehicles are operational in the Middle East and Asia, and a further production of REVA III APC s in Thailand is currently underway. REVAS are also deployed by the African Union in Somalia and by the South African Government. ICP gained extensive knowledge and operational expertise across the African continent, the Middle East and South East Asia and is dedicated to the business of designing, engineering and building the safest armoured personnel carriers in the world. 4 MANUFACTURING REVA Armoured Personnel Carriers are manufactured in South Africa and the manufacturing capabilities equates to 30 complete vehicles per month. The manufacturing plant provides ongoing training, and houses a service centre to ensure uninterrupted parts supply and the maintenance of vehicles currently in operation. ICP also has a facility and office in Amman. PAGE 03

6 BALLISTICS The REVA Armoured Personnel Carriers have different levels of ballistic and armour protection which is model specific. The REVA Armoured Personnel Carrier is manufactured from recognised armoured steel. It is built on a solid V-shaped monocoque hull a unique, combat-proven South African design and has been modified to withstand threats encountered worldwide today. The vehicle hull consists of two layers of armoured steel comprising a 25 mm cavity to increase ballistic properties within the passenger compartment. The upper hull is supported by a V-shaped bottom plate that is internally reinforced by means of a capping plate for ultimate blast protection. 7 RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT The designers and engineers of REVA Armoured Personnel Carriers continuously evaluate feedback from clients and users in order to make improvements and offer additions tailored to specific needs. TRAINING Tactical and technical training customized to the local environment and vehicle configuration is provided to all users of REVA APC s. Training packages based on internationally accepted practices are available for the range of crew members and include outcomes related to operation and maintenance, deployment procedures, tactical application of the APC, immediate action drills, recovery, offensive and defensive driving as well as weapon application. Training curricula can be customized to suit the user s requirement and doctrine. Operator and Technical Train-the-Trainer packages are also available for user s wishing to rapidly integrate the REVA APC into existing organizations. PAGE 06
