At the heart of this sovereign and strategic industry, Nexter asserts itself as the French systems integrator reference, with a wide range of products from armored vehicles and artillery systems to ammunition and land robotics. Thanks to the creation of KNDS, KMW and Nexter assume a leading position in the Franco-German and European land defense industry. Farsighted, KNDS teams are already working on future ground combat systems programs. Over the years, Nexter develops the know-how of its employees and broaden their skills to ensure the full mastery of complex systems. Federating a network of partners and subcontractors in France and abroad, the group is the major land defense supplier of the French Army. 7 WEAPONS & TURRETS Nexter has developed a range of turrets and guns for land, naval and aeronautical systems. The control of the fire function is a major component of the Nexter offer, which integrates its systems onto platforms such as the Rafale fighter aircraft, the Tiger helicopter or the FREMM frigates. EQUIPMENT Nexter s subsidiary companies supply subsystems and services to the Nexter Group and its external customers, in the fields of robotics, electronics, optics, mechanics, shelters and even Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) defense. DIGITIZATION Nexter offers its customers Global Digital Solutions, enabling network connectivity to all platforms, weapon systems and infantry and the sharing of tactical informations. As part of a flat-rate support contract, Nexter is committed to the Operational Technical Availability (OTA) of the equipment assigned to the training fleets and to deliver any spare parts for the rest of the fleet in less than 5 days. This allows for example, ensuring an OTA for more than 75% of the entire VBCI fleet in France and during external operations. 9

10 SCORPION PROGRAM AS THE FUTURE BACKBONE OF THE FRENCH ARMY, THE SCORPION PROGRAM IS A SERIES OF MODERNISATIONS AND RENEWAL OPERATIONS FOR ITS MAJOR EQUIPMENT. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GRIFFON, JAGUAR, SERVAL V EHICLES AND THE RENOVATION OF THE LECLERC MBT ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF THIS. THE EFFECT ON THE GROUND OF FUTURE JOINT TACTICAL GROUPS EQUIPPED IN THIS WAY WILL BE GREATLY INCREASED WITH REGARD TO THE CURRENT GENERATION. JAGUAR SERVAL The SERVAL, the Lightweight Multi-Role Armored Vehicle (Lightweight VBMR) addresses the need of the light units to feature a versatile light contact vehicle allowing them to operate in diverse situations, terrains and conditions (extreme climate, urban area, high altitude ). To ensure the missions assigned to it, the SERVAL will be declined in 3 versions: Armored Patrol Vehicle (APB), Node of Tactical Communication (NTC), Surveillance, Acquisition, Intelligence, Recognition (SAIR). The JAGUAR, Armored Reconnaissance and Combat Vehicle (EBRC) will replace the AMX10RC, ERC90 and VAB HOT to meet the new needs of the French Army. It is prepared for embedded simulation, allowing the crew to train within the regiment without external means. 10

11 tns-mars Through the Scorpion Integrator Architect market notified to tns-mars (JV Nexter, Thales, Safran), performing all activities within the Joint Tactical Groups System of Systems, with the objective of making all components work together and up to the soldier operating in the theatres of operation (vehicles, Scorpion SICS combat information systems, PR4G-type COMs, radio-contact, etc.), Nexter s teams are actively involved in the development and deployment of collaborative combat solutions by systems architecture activities (increments 1 & 2 with drones, robots,...), software development of collaborative modules, testing and qualification services, and support. UPGRADED LECLERC MBT (XLR) GRIFFON The GRIFFON, Multi-role Armored Vehicle (VBMR), is capable of filling a broad spectrum of missions and when it replaces the VAB armored vehicle will provide the Army with new capabilities. 10 versions will be developed (Troop Transport, Command Post, Medical, Artillery Observation Vehicle...). 200 LECLERC MBT will be modernized as part of the SCORPION program between 2020 and 2028, at the Nexter site in Roanne. This modernisation will amplify the operational capacity of the tank, through the integration of the vetronics and a secondary armament, as well as the Army s new command and communication systems, which are common with the entire range of SCORPION vehicles. 11

12 MATCHING SUPPLY TO EXPORT CHALLENGES CAESAR 8x8 during testing The CAESAR 8x8 exemplifies the expansion of the CAESAR range; a range of combat-proven artillery systems, over 9 years without interruption, within the French and foreign land forces. The 8x8 version is equipped with the same heavy-duty 155 mm 52-caliber gun as the 6x6 version, which saw action in combat in different theatres of operation and under severe climatic and geographical conditions (from the mountains of Afghanistan to the Adrar des Ifoghas in Mali). With this system, Nexter has taken into account the operational needs of their customers, such as: larger ammunition payload, modularity of the loading of the shells from a manual solution up to a fully automated system, a weapons and self-defense systems payload, different types of crew cabin protection, etc. It is this same customer-oriented approach that had led Nexter to propose the 6x6 on different carriers. 12

13 VBCI in the desert Based on an incre mental development logic of the Combat- Proven VBCI, Nexter demonstrates the extent of its know-how in the land defense field. Operated by the French Army, the VBCI has demonstrated its exceptional qualities during numerous engagements throughout the world. To meet new export requirements, it benefits from the latest technological advances in terms of mobility (10% increase in engine power, directional rear axle, etc.), ergonomics (360 vision, night vision, optimisation of the Human- Machine Interfaces...), protection (very high resistance against mines, IEDs and ballistic threats...), electronics and computer systems (vetronics...). Its fire-power is enhanced by the integration of a new generation weapons system, including the T40 mm turret with Cased Telescoped Ammunition technology, thanks to its 40 mm gun developed by CTA International, which is capable of firing more than 5 types of ammunition. This T40 turret has also been created to carry 2 anti-tank missiles. These improvements developed by the Nexter teams make it possible to reinforce the technological advance of the VBCI platform and ensure its competitiveness for future challenges. 13

ROANNE MODULAR PRODUCTION LINES In its Roanne s production site, Nexter has a modular integration line, capable of assembling several types of equipment, from artillery systems to armored vehicles, each one with an optimised ergonomic workplace. With 7 product lines, including assembly and, customer assistance, the Roanne centre is at the heart of Nexter s integrator business. Production methods are constantly adapted to meet the needs of our customers: specific means of handling, tools, sheet metal processing, robot welding of steel and aluminium, surface treatments and body paints, not to mention testing. BOURGES FRANCE S SOLE GUN FACTORY The know-how of the Bourges gunmakers has enabled Nexter Group to become one of the five world leaders in the field of artillery systems. The Group continues to invest heavily in the renewal of certain production methods, in order to stay at the forefront in the field of medium- and large-calibre weapons. 16

This policy has led to a change in production equipment, with the commissioning of a fully automated line for loading tracer shells and the installation of a production line capable of producing 1 million medium-calibre cartridges a year. 17

21 Respect for the environment The Health, Safety and Environment department is responsible for managing actions and guarantees coherent actions among the various Nexter Group sites. Each of the Group s subsidiaries has an environmental policy that states the main environmental commitments, such as: Increasing staff awareness of good environmental practices Improving the means available to prevent environmental risks Reducing the environmental impact of the Group Support for associations Nexter has undertaken sponsorship activities with associations such as Terre Fraternité, which aims to help the Army s wounded personnel. The Group also integrated the first program to support career changes for army personnel wounded in combat. Since January 2016, Nexter has also partnered with the foundation Œuvres Sociales de l Air, whose mission is to assist Air Force personnel in difficulty because of a lifechanging event. 22 PURCHASING POLICY For historical reasons, Nexter Group considers France as its natural supply area and concentrates its purchases in the regions around its implantation. The objective of this step in favor of SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) and MSC (Medium-Size Companies) of the local industrial base is to strengthen the long-term support for innovation and development. In addition, Nexter is engaged in partnerships with SMEs and MSCs, which represent around 80% of its panel of suppliers.
