3 Specification Introduction Our Heritage Stepped Door system has been specifically designed as a thermally efficient replacement for existing steel doors. The system consists of a comprehensive range of aluminium extrusions, each designed to provide the structural performance and weathering characteristics required for modern window systems. The design takes inspiration from traditional steel doors, with features such as slim sight-lines and the attractive aesthetic contours of its stepped profiles. The system can produce both single and double doors and where fixed ventilation is required an additional head liner bar and slot ventilator can be fitted. In addition to the main aluminium extrusions a comprehensive range of accessories are available including gaskets, flat astragal bars, operating handles, multipoint locks, butt hinges, restrictors and a variety of other accessories, available in a range of colours. Thermal Performance The Heritage Stepped Door system has been designed to be thermally efficient with a highly advanced polyamide thermal break. In conjunction with the correct glass specification the system has been designed to aid compliance with the latest thermal requirements of the current building regulations. For enhanced thermal performance, there are other glass options available. Glazing The Heritage Stepped Door system is glazed with mm double glazed units set against extruded gaskets that are retained in the gasket grooves in the window sections. Glazing is held secure by means of glazing beads and an internal wedge gasket, but tape glazing is also available where required. Materials Aluminium profiles are extruded from aluminum alloy 6060 T6 complying with the recommendations of BS EN / BS EN 755 parts 1 to 9 Finishes The range of aluminium sections can be provided in powder organic coat to BS 6496 or BS EN A range of alternative finishes are also available.
