NATURE AND NAME OF EVENT A rericted event known as e, incorporating The 39 Magnum Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Rally and e 11 Magnum Vintage and Classic Motor Car Rally. 2. DATE OF EVENT Thursday, 09 Augu to Saturday, 11 Augu Pre-Event scrutiny will be done at Hotel Numbi & Garden Suites, Hazyview, e centre of e spider event on Wednesday 08 and early morning Thursday 09 Augu DESCRIPTION OF EVENT A Reliability and Regularity Trial over a diance of approximately 800 km of which approximately 700 km will be regularity, comprising of four separate Score Groups, being Score Group A For motorcycles manufactured on or before 31 December Score Group B For motorcycles manufactured between 1 January 1961 and 31 December Score Group C For motorcars manufactured before 31 December Score Group D For motorcars and motorcycles manufactured before 31 inruments. 3 10. ENTRY FEE The Entry Fee is R800, for solo motorcycles and R1600, for motorcars, combinations and motorcycle wi pillion passenger. Late entries may be accepted at e discretion of e organisers. Accommodation at e venue is limited and will be available on a fir come fir served basis. See Financial & Accommodation Form attached. 13. METHOD OF SETTING SPEEDS [See VSR 24] Speeds will be set in accordance wi meod 1 as defined in VSR 24(a). A choice of speed groups is offered on e entry form. The maximum speed for each speed group is as follows A 55km/h B 65km/h C 75km/h D 90km/h 14. COMPETITION NUMBERS AND STARTING TIMES [See VSR 16] Competition numbers will be supplied by e organisers. Competitors are to supply eir own backing boards. All competitors will be required to display eir assigned numbers on e left side and e left front (cars) of e vehicle. It is rongly recommended, at e front number be mounted above e headlight and not in front of it. Competition numbers and arting times will be advised in e final inructions. 15. PASSENGERS See VSR PRE-START REQUIREMENTS See VSR12 & VSR17. Any advertising material supplied by e organisers or sponsors shall be displayed on e vehicles as directed The following additional requirements are applicable For motorcycles - The wearing of crash helmets is compulsory. - Adequate protective cloing mu be worn by competitors and we rongly recommend e following boots, adequate eye protection, gloves and leaers, heavy-duty overalls, denims or heavy-duty trial suits. For motorcars - Seat belts to be used at all times, if fitted. For motorcycles and motorcars - A GPS Data Logger, to be carried by e competitor, is to be presented to e chief scorer at documentation or as required in e Final Inructions. This inrument mu be compatible wi e software utilized by e organisers of e event. The onus is on e competitor to ensure at e battery is charged and at e GPS Data Logger is in working condition It is recommended at competitors carry a spare logger, as in e event of a failure of e primary logger is will be used for e purpose of scoring 3 of 10

4 17. PRE-START SCRUTINY AND DOCUMENTATION See VSRs 15 & 20. Documentation and pre-event scrutiny will be done at Hotel Numbi &Garden Suites, Hazyview, e centre of e spider event on Wednesday 08 between 1000 and 1900 and early morning Thursday 09 Augu Late arrivals on Wednesday, please make prior arrangements to have route schedules etc. put in rooms (if all oer documentation requirements have been complied wi). Limited Documentation and scrutiny facilities will be available on Thursday morning at e art. 18. ROUTE SCHEDULES [See VSR 21] Route schedules will be as per VSR 21(b), will be pre-calculated and will be available, provided all documentation has been completed to e satisfaction of e organisers, on Wednesday ( ) for e fir day and for e next two days after presentation of e score sheet for e current day [Attention is drawn to VSR 21(d). 19. TIME KEEPING AND CONTROLS [See VSRs 26, 27 & 28] Virtual controls will be used VSR 26(a)(iv) Virtual Control an unmanned control, not necessarily identified to competitors on e route schedule, e position of which is predetermined by GPS co-ordinates [latitude and longitude]. The competitors time of passing e control will be recorded by means of a GPS Data Logger carried in or upon e competing vehicle for e duration of e event. Wiin irty (30) minutes of each competitor s ETA at e end of each day, e competitor shall hand his GPS Data Logger to e Chief scorer. Failing to comply wi is requirement will result in e competitor being classified a non-finisher for e day. 20. INSTRUMENTS [See VSR 18] VSR18 (a) and (b) is not applicable to Score Group D. For all oer Score Groups attention is drawn to e fact at under no circumances is e use of any electronic devices for measuring speed or diance, such as GPS s, permitted during e event. 21. RESULTS [See VSR 29] In addition to VSR 29(a-d) after a competitor has presented his /her GPS Data Logger to e Chief scorer he/she will be given an individual detailed score sheet wi ETA s, ATA s and errors expressed in seconds at all e virtual controls scored at day. This score sheet will be date and time amped and e competitor will en have irty (30) minutes to query his results. Thereafter his results will become final. After all competitors have received eir score sheets and ere are no outanding queries, overall provisional results will be poed as follows Overall Provisional results will be announced at 1830 on Saturday, at e rally venue. Daily Provisional results, indicating errors per control, will be poed on e official notice board on e times indicated below or as soon as possible ereafter Day 1 Provisional results Day 2 Provisional results Day 3 Provisional results. 22. VISITING PARTICIPANTS In Order to comply wi e various regulations as set out in e VSRs, e Pretoria Old Motor Club has made provision for visiting participants, provided ey are non-residents of Sou Africa, to be made temporary members for e duration of e event. 29. COMPETITION LICENCE A member in possession of a current valid membership card of any SAVVA affiliated club or MSA affiliated club is deemed to be in possession of a Competition Licence. For is event it is required at e vehicle entered be dated by SAVVA and a Dating Certificate issued. Alternatively, e entrant should submit adequate proof at e vehicle complies wi e eligibility conditions of entry. 30. CLASSES, TROPHIES AND AWARDS Trophies will be awarded as per e following rules and awards li The Floating Trophies may not leave e Republic of Sou Africa and remains e property of e organising club and are to be returned to e club. All trophies are to be engraved and returned by no later an 30 June Only finishers will qualify for trophies. The organisers reserve e right to increase or reduce e number of trophies/awards or to change e basis of awarding trophies/awards.
