IMPORTNT: Systems are designed to be used with Jib Systems manufactured by Capital Safety only. OSH Models ll connecting systems, (self retracting lifelines, winches and energy absorbing lanyards) used with the Jib Mast and ase system shall limit the average arresting forces to 4 kn (900 lbf). IMPORTNT: System is only rated for one user. IMPORTNT: System is only rated for one user General Construction Structural Material SPECIFICTIONS: Welded Steel 36 Steel Finish Zinc Plate per STM 633, Type 2 Hitch Pin Material Hitch Pin Finish 36 Steel Zinc Plate Training: It is the responsibility of users of this equipment to understand these instructions and be trained in correct installation, use, and maintenance of this equipment. Users must be aware of the consequences of improper installation or use of this equipment. This instruction manual is not a substitute for a training program. Training must be provided on a periodic basis to ensure user proficiency. Description: The Concrete Mounted Jib ase (Figure 1) is a anchor point for overhead applications. The Concrete Mounted Jib ase is designed for use with a vertical mast being inserted into a concrete mounted base. Purpose: The Concrete Mounted Jib ase is designed for use as a component of a Personal Fall rrest System (PFS). PFSs are used where free fall is possible before the fall is arrested and typically include: a Self Retracting Lifeline (EN 360) or Energy bsorbing Lanyard (EN 355); connector (EN 362) to attach to the anchor; and a Full ody Harness (EN 361). INSTLLTION: IMPORTNT: See fastener manufacturer specifications for mounting requirements. (See Figure 5 -.) Step-1: Mark anchor holes to be drilled per Figure 2 - layout. Drill 129mm (Ø5.06 ) hole to a depth of 578mm (22.75 ) into the existing concrete. (See Figure 2 -.) (See Figure 2 - C.) NOTE: Ensure that no epoxy ingresses into anchor opening during install. Capital Safety recommends using Rock River ll Weather 400 Epoxy, (Part# , 9.3 oz tube) or equivalent to anchor base. fter the Concrete nchors have cured over the appropriate time as specified by epoxy manufacturer, continue on to Step 2. Step - 2: Fastening the Mounted Jib ase: Make sure the Core Holes are free of any debris before inserting the Jib ase. (See Figure 3.) Fasten the Jib ase to the existing concrete by tightening the concrete anchor bolts to their recommended torque. 5

6 Step - 3: Installing the Jib Mast into the Jib ase. Lower the Jib Mast until the Rotation lock () is resting in the Locking Slot () in the Jib ase. (See Figure 4 -.) IMPORTNT: Insert the ase Cap into the Jib ase when the Jib Mast is not in the Jib ase. (See Figure 4 -.) INSPECTION: IMPORTNT: Extreme working conditions (harsh environments, prolonged use) may require increasing the frequency of inspections.. WRNING: If the system has been damaged do to fall arrest, it must be immediately removed from service, inspected, or contact Capital Safety for repair or replacement. efore Every use: ll fasteners must be tight, secure and not damaged. Inspect for corrosion or rust. ll labels must be present and fully legible. Inspect for cracks around the Jib ase. Record results of inspection in the inspection and maintenance log provided. If inspection reveals an unsafe or defective condition, remove Concrete Mounted Jib ase from service and destroy, or contact Capital Safety for repair or replacement. Monthly: formal inspection should be done by a Competent Person 1 other than the user. Record results of inspection in the inspection and maintenance log provided.
